  1. I agree - great support from Bicycle,Cycleops, but...Christian to the rescue. Buycycle also offers great support, and Christian is very active on the hub Contact Buycycle or drop Christian a PM
  2. Iv the event of a puncture/blowout, you can take the tyre off or add a tube without having to remove the wheel...given the fact the right side of the wheel has no obstruction
  3. The cwc clamp is plastic, so it doesn't hold the bike very stable. Otherwise it is a good deal. What is this clamp made of?
  4. I wonder how much negativity Shimano would get if they launched their own 12x casette - I dont see much hating on the 'shimano ultegra R9000' forum And the R9000 is definitely not the price of that groupset
  5. I remember to never believe the distance and elevation on the Web...always shorter with less climbing than what I get on my garmin
  6. Sounds like somebody is trying to avoid doing an FTP? It's free, if you ignore the pain and water loss
  7. I normally get my shock back, unless it's wrecked. They normally charge about R200 more for a fully returned shock...money well spent in my mind
  8. And the best part about a brain shock is that when yours is wrecked, they simply send you an overhauled unit which is as good as new
  9. Did trailwolf send the fork and shock away for a service? LBS can service the fork (seals and oil), but they cannot replace the little brain canister inside the fork
  10. I want to be your friend and get wahoo products at a significantly discounted price
  11. Robyn de Groot rides them, and I would venture and say she rides harder than most of us here. She was impressed with them when I spoke to her at Rooiberg last year
  12. My understanding on the axles is there is no difference between 142 and 142+ Suspension linkage yoke goes hand in hand with with rear shocks, so I am not sure if that counts. Not trying to argue here, but I so often here people talk about Spez having too many proprietary parts, but the way i see their bikes is that forks, handle bars, stems, seat posts, drive trains, brakes, etc can readily changed. Maybe some of their aero bikes require Spez specific items?
  13. Does Spez really have that much proprietary bits? I recently built up a stumpie ht, with no proprietary parts. I know the brain in their forks/shocks is proprietary, but what else?
  14. When you drive a tata, and then you drive a higher end German car (BMW, Golf, Merc), will you not notice the difference? Now go ride a Raleigh from Makro and then a Scalpel and tell me what you think
  15. Boys at the hub have time for jokes...Load this on the stroke of midnight on 1 April. Now let's see if the president comes out and says the cabinet changes are also a joke
  16. Epic Vaseline - one million dollars (and thats a lot of Rand considering what Zuma just did)
  17. Only difference is the gravel grinder is 2xwhatever, and doesnt have a wide range cassette...which is exactly where the MTB was a few years back Guess its true, history repeats itself
  18. How often do people have a good experience and say nothing, but when something bad happens - lets rant on the hub. By walking out the door without buying anything they lost a sale - punishment enough for not attending to you. Rants over consistently bad service is understandable, but as a one off, maybe not
  19. If you go XTR, you will need to go on diet as buying food may be a problem - weight saving on components, weight saving on the waist
  20. A spacer may work, but not ideal - this will give you a horrible chain line
  21. I think the conditions were great (apart from the really muddy section, but that was about 2km only) and gave some good racing. Sun came out, very little wind, and lots of fun. Got back to my car and some coward crashed their bike into my car (Ford Ranger, so not like its hard to miss) and disappeared without leaving contact details. Long dent and some ugly scratches If anyone saw this happening, please drop me a PM
