  1. They will probably replace it with a KFC or Chicken Licken so that all the SAPS, Traffic cops and government /municipal officials can get their daily dose, and watch the dolphins before their snooze. One of the first in what will be a long line of Zimbabwe type action in this country. Hopefully it will be less evident in the Western Cape.
  2. I did this 2 years ago and have never regretted it. No accidental changing, very positive, easy "trimming" if you have 3 front rings....................
  3. In the words of ABBA.......Money, Money, Money! Not from tickets to the games but TV rights and sponsors. That's why your DSTV is costing so much with the crappiest movie choice ever!
  4. IMHO there is too much criticism going around about coaches and their staff. After all it is the players that have to perform on the pitch. It does seem as if there is a lack of captaining ability when changes to tactics and so on become necessary during a game. Individuality has become non-existent in our teams and I believe this is due to being "Over coached"! The New Zealand teams seem to have been able to retain the individual player's ability to express themselves on the field whereas our captains spend more time consulting with the ref than with their own teammates. Perhaps one way to change the mind set is to force all of our top players to spend a season playing sevens, where you have to think on the field, and then put them back into super and currie cup rugby with hopefully a change to becoming more inventive and quick thinking. "Dom krag" is not working, our kicking game is not working, ( Come back Fourie Du Preez) and we stumble through first half performances waiting for uitkak by the coach at halftime. Again, IMHO, very few of the top players have played club or varsity level rugby and their natural athletic abilities are encumbered by over coaching. They get plucked out of school and age level rugby and move straight into top level competition. On Monday there was a schools rugby competition on Supersport and no doubt the talent scouts were present to see who will next be turned into a coaches robot at the expense of natural talent.
  5. Got back on the Mtb this weekend after 7weeks recovery from wrist and hand surgery. Doc said maybe a bit early but the weather was just too inviting. Plenty of discomfort but what a pleasure to be on the saddle and sharing the great outdoors with so many of you. I had forgotten how much comraderie there is out there and how well I slept after the dose of fresh air. Did 2 rides of 45km and 35 km and my legs and arms are enjoyably sore this morning. See you out there!
  6. Welcome and have a couple of good rides. All of the above mentioned trails are "magic".
  7. Two sets of Candys, not one single issue, great when exposed to mud, 2 years now. Think about cleaning method - pressure spray? Normal bearing effect! I just loosen mud with a hard bristle brush.
  8. This is the most important difference!
  9. Playing for the love of the game and not the administrators!
  10. What rock have you recently crawled out from under? Follow the facts and maybe you will retract your support for the other inhabitants from under your rock.
  11. How many posts must a hubber make before he can name and shame. This is not an elitist club. Surely you learnt something from the Andrew Armstrong story!
  12. Note to self: Do not use attorney Vaughan Hattingh!
  13. It's probably a thing called VAT. Now wouldn't the receiver like to read this thread.
  14. So-called invoice has a VAT component and as the shop is VAT registered, perhaps this "Mock" invoice is to dodge the receivers cut. Another brick in the wall of this shop's irregular activities? I am sure SARS would have some questions.
  15. I have a question about this dodgy invoice. If Cycle Science have been in business for so long, how is their invoice sequence sitting at 005?
  16. Well done Andrew! You got 18 pages of response in less than 24 hours. You even topped the Evans Knox post.
  17. Be careful what you post, there are Champions and Ultimates out there who will go for your jugular just because you are a Rookie!
  18. Sometimes I feel we need to apologise about the on - line behaviour of some Hub members. What gives you the right to pass judgement on what is clearly fraud, just because the OP is a new member. Does one have to post a thousand inane comments or threads before you are "experienced" enough to expose a scam that could affect a lot of other people who are trusting towards a shop that appears above board. To insult Andrew because he "is a jetsetter" is uncalled for and you have exposed your own shortfalls. A person of his standing is unlikely to open up a BS accusation unless he was genuinely taken.Over the weekend I was discussing the Hub with a big player in the industry, both as a Bike Shop owner and a competitive cyclist. His comment: " The all knowing Hub" ruled by certain members who try to make points just for the sake of being confrontational. Must we all use Helopeter rather than share directly with the cycling fraternity?
  19. Welcome to the Hub where the wild swing in comments is the norm."To those of you who some how think I deserved to be ripped off. Perhaps you would like to borrow my fake frame, fake wheels and fake handlebars and practice some technical descending!" You were quite simply ripped off and in an industry that is constantly becoming ethically questionable, you need to take this as far as you can. Providing all your proof is clear, we should be supporting your attempt to nail the "Dark" side of the industry.
  20. Its amazing to think that there are 27 pages of mostly negative comments regarding something that was finalised the day following the incident and the emotional outbursts of some of the Fedgroup team seem to be surpassed by Hub members in their ranting. They made mistakes but the punishment has been handed out. Let's let it go guys.
  21. Kudos to the Epic organisers for at last recognising that the rider's support teams are integral to the race and not a reserve for the big name corporates. The facilities, for the first time, were great with electricity, water and plenty of toilets and showers. It was great to at last feel as an accepted part of the event and not just a bunch of hillbillies. The supporters village was a hive of productivity and we managed to do what we were there for - Rider Support.
  22. Certainly a tough boytjie, his latent fitness must be exceptional!
  23. You are so right, they do rule.
