If you noticed most of the rugby players riding are ex Sharks. Not a Bull, Stormer,( Kempson was a Shark before Stormer) Cheetah, Lion in sight! Says something about the Sharks?

I don't clamp Carbon frames even with my Parktool stand! Only on the seatpost, they are far more durable than a frame.

Perhaps you should read up on the original idea of the Epic. Why should some be excluded if they are prepared to fork out R50k. Kevin Vermaak almost bankrupted himself until sponsors stepped in and if my bank uses my money to float an event like this then I want to have choice of participation. perhaps you are also saying that the Comrades Marathon should be reserved for the top5% of runners as well?

It's this type of attitude that has made the Epic an elitist event that is hopelessly out of reach of the riders who are out there for enjoyment. Some organisers of multi day events have compromised by having a separate race for the racers and an adventure ride for those who partake in this sport for the pure enjoyment. Which camp are you?

1000 riders at the Epic seem to accept the high pressure workout by inexperienced washers at that. When using a pressure washer turn the spray onto more of a mist spray but never spray hubs, bb's or headsets. Buy a set of bike specific brushes and a coarse hair paintbrush.

I have to ask the question? When did the Stormers ever create " Classic" retention and attack? Most of the Chief's win came from a lack of retention when the Stormers tried to attack!

When you receive an SMS notification from reputable bank it will state the name of the payer, the last digits of your account and a reference number. phone the payers bank, 24hr number and go thru to internet banking and give them the reference number and they will confirm all details of the transaction, your account number and the amount.

It did not seem as well structured as in past years but in saying that I found that many riders had not checked their maps for positioning of the start chutes. Many in my group were confused and asking for directions.

While I agree that this club contributes greatly to development but the responsibility now lies with the management of the club to fully investigate the actions of their members, come clean for the good of the cycling fraternity, identify the perps and force them to face up to the consequences of their actions. I don't believe a lifetime ban etc is necessary, but certainly a year or two out of competition might suffice to get the message across. These are, after all, youngsters who can only learn from their mistake. Just as the public are now taking aim at all cyclists, so too are cyclists taking aim at this club. The weak defensiveness of their chairman/ president leaves a huge gap for those critical of all cyclists to say" I told you so". I challenge the management of this club to get a backbone and do what is right!

Nothing warrants mob type justice and these morons should face up to what is coming!

I hate to disappoint you but I have seen very few bargains at any of the Expo's. Look here on the Hub or CWC and the like. IMO I agree with MH and Maxxis, especially about pedals/ shoes. Make a huge difference. ( SPD's or Candys)
