Northern Transvaal were only established in 1938.

Anybody keen to bet on number of cards to-day? Better still, how many illegal moves Richie McCaw gets away with?

I agree that the ref left a lot to be desired but the last penalty fell under the part of the law that states" The competing player must be on his feet supporting his body weight". The bull had almost gained control but it was then wrestled back by an incoming Shark and Bulletjie lost his footing but continued to hang on to the ball...............and now for the Kings Park showdown.
  4. Can anybody make out what brand of bike this is. Very alarming.

Its time that the refs are given some real training in the scrum and breakdown laws. I believe that Marius Van Der Westhuizen is sinking to the same level of confusion as the rest of our refs. He played the old maul laws in the Bulls favour and yellow carded the Sharks for play that was hardly noticed when the Bulls did the same.

Couldn't agree more. If I had been watching last nights game blindfolded and only listened to the commentators, I would have thought that the Bulls were hammering the Sharks. Warren Brosnihan has never been the same since he was deemed superfluous to the Sharks needs all those years ago.
  7. Be careful, I got sick 30k's into the K2C 2 years ago and because of the road closure I had to stumble along until 2PM before my support could get through. The sweep trucks were full and after that it became very lonely.
  8. Any word on Froome being Knighted as was Wiggins after last year's tour. Perhaps it's unfortunate that he comes from the colonies.

Wrong.................Sa were ranked no1 in 2007 after the world cup, in 2008 SA and the AB's swapped rankings twice at no1, in 2009 SA held it as well until the AB's regained it later in the year. England have also held it. I agree Lomu was a superstar but he has one record that escaped him........he never managed to score a try against SA!

That is not, of course, taking into account that he is probably still the finest tighthead in the game and the new scrum laws are suited to him. How else do we dominate at crucial scrum time.

Just tried to raise some blood pressure. According to the IRB list the ref at Ellis Park will be Nigel Owens. A whistle happy man but reasonably consistent. For the record, Roman Poite was originally appointed as an assistant ref for last weekend's game.

Bryce Lawrence? That would be sticking with the IRB logic.
  13. Somebody from Kimberley out there? Check out 82 Transvaal road.

The general consensus is more a case of what could have been a great game of rugby being destroyed by the ref. Not many people are saying we were robbed of a victory but the evidence in our scrumming and physicality for 30 mins was quite clear and for the first time in years the All Blacks were starting to go on the back foot. They are still a great side and don't need cheating refs to assist them but the Boks, if they clean up small deficiencies in their game, can be world beaters. It was announced to-day that the red card record of Bismarck's has been expunged from his record already. That answers a lot of doubters. Remember too that in losing Bismarck we also lost the other "Bone crusher", Willem Alberts!

Somehow I think we were watching a different game - where was Bismarck in the wrong?
  17. I have it on good authority that a Drone is on its way to you. Please warn your neighbours.
  18. Impossible, I was there in '68 on my way to Mars!
  19. As we all know lawyers in the States are more common than rugby and soccer players combined as a percentage of the population and litigation is the yanks national sport. The next action will be against the US government for the moon landing ( Which we all know was a con ) They might even sue their parents for reading them nursery rimes or putting out a Xmas tree or even, perish the thought, the tooth fairy.
  20. I checked to see if the date was April 1! Anyway, recognition at last! Wifey says lose the weight like a man.
  21. Come on the OP, it costs a lot of money to fly CSA around the country, Last stop Pietermaritzburg, and the price of 4 star accommodation is exorbitant. Who cares about the origins and objective of your event. You are right though, here in the Cape there is an organisation that stands up to them.
  22. Even if it was only a brief glimpse of one these magnificent beasts, consider yourselves blessed as this would be a once in a lifetime experience. Man has unfortunately forced a situation where we can often only sit on the edge of the natural world and look in, but to have shared space with this animal, fantastic.
  23. Maybe all he said was "Hello sunshine, look what heaven sent you!"
  24. This is why it is imperative that a senior mechanic(experienced) test rides the bike after maintenance. I also have changed to full housing and this type of problem is now a thing of the past. Testing the bike in a bike stand does not apply the range of stress that riding will do.
  25. No I'm not, my Skyhawk was bought in the States for me by my son.
