  1. if you guys are technically inclined you can quite easily open up SRAM shifters and service them yourself....bearing in mind that if it goes "sproing" then its going to be somewhat more tricky to fix. The fact that the bike shop said they can't fix it is not very nice - but I am not sure if X7's are servicable like X9's. Call the agent and see what they can do. Cape Cycle Systems I think is the company. Someone have info for them?
  2. Yes it should flick back. I had a X9 shifter someone brought me from Europe that had an issue and the guys at SRAM in cape town fixed if for free... so send it off to the agent and they should be able to sort you out. Thats the great thing with SRAM - it can be repaired, Shimano you just gooi weg and start over....
  3. So Crow - how does that puppy ride? And compared to the first Ibis you had?
  4. But didn't we already know that Contador is a bit of a ****? I second Wrigs - i support Andy (and anyone else who can beat Contador)
  5. Its amazing what k@k your mind will believe.... Somehow one would worry about the stumpy metal derailler piece sticking out on Lance's bike more that a slim, rather swiss cheese-ish derailler pulley. I rate that Wolfgang engineer is making a bunch of cash from these guys for giving them pulley wheels off a entry level Shimano derailler....
  6. Somehow I think that the picture in the shower will do all the selling.... hahaha
  7. Something amuzing for the cyclist in you should you wish to sell something http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/tor/bik/1818360923.html Enjoy
  8. Bos, you can ride that course on a cyclocross bike - nothing special. If they made a trail with DH quality stuff in it they would scare a couple people.... That being said, hillcrest has some of the ugliest climbs in that area.
  9. Hmmm, I have looked on CRC but have struggled to find anything out of the norm.....maybe I need to look harder!!! Thanks DV, let me know if you put an order through for odd size chain rings - would be keen get 1 or 2
  10. She also seems to be the only one riding her bike in that pic....?
  11. Hey DV, where do you get the odd size chainrings? And will they fit onto a standard Shimano crank BCD spacing? Or do you have a specific crank?
  12. Kinghound PM Kiwi for 14" On Ones. I have a little friend who rides one and it fits her like a glove. She also treats it like a hooligan and it keeps coming back for more. Good price too, around 2k new....!?!?
  13. No comparison - Morewood gives you XC get up and go but handles like a trail bike on the DH. Zula punches way above its catagory - and its proudly SA!!!! Thats more than enough reason!
  14. Why not PM Kiwi to see what scandium On One's he has? On One's are generally very competatively priced. If you worried about cracking then don't get a plastic bike. At least if you get a ding on alu or steel bike it is not going to fail "immediately". That said, modern carbon bikes are pretty well made and re-inforced accordingly. Alu bikes don;t generally crack unless you can them, have a fault (warantee item then...?) or they get a bad impact and fail from there. If you want an alu frame that weights carbon weight, you will be paying long dollars. Otherwise keep it real with some steel! Bomb proof, compliant and there is nothing quite like the ride of a steel bike. Cheap too (unless you aiming at Reynolds tubing or something). Seriously, try Kiwi, he may be the answer...
  15. I've been running a 1x9 12x25 on my mountain bike with 105 RD (yes i know it is the other way round) and it has been quite "fun". Hard work but fun. So why not mix and match on the road bike - and as Mampara says, slap on a longer cage RD otherwise it tends to "stick" a bit...
  16. You going to have to post some pic's of the new group set when they arrive!!! Where can we see released pics of the 10 speed groupo's? I have seen the ones of the X7, so interested to see more!!!
  17. Ja, give him a kids mini bike and let me go down the mountain. Hopefully he won't be able to generate enough speed to come off again....
  18. You don't ask for much do you..... Have you got Patrick on speed dial? If so, tell him I want a Shova with your edits but it must be Ti - bike for life! I have seen a Shova with a 150 Talas and RP23 Boost with a longer stroke to match the fork - very nifty and works like a charm without any changes from the factory...
  19. Just put some nifty glasses on and it will feel like 3D. I'll even hold my breath till I go blue if you ask nicely...
  20. Mmmm, thats hot! This is the only plastic bike I think I could bring myself to buy... Love the Iodine's
  21. Damn straight! Riding is the business!!! Crow - chirped you about a bike on your Mojo thread... and yes, can't wait for the 2011 Morewoods, something special is coming I feel! Bos - church is not for us filthy mtb types - takes to much time away from the trails!!! Just kidding, I was thinking around 3pm or so at Tokia for a mission. Did HD helmet cam stuff last week and the footage is cool but needs to be refined and riders need to practice to make it look lke we are actually going fast....hehehe
  22. So what you riding on until June? A BMX, an old Raleigh - maybe you surfing a pool noodle down the trails.... Or did you take my advise, not sell the Morewood and are now glad that you listened? "In my thoughts I have seen Rings of smoke through the trees And the voices of those who stand lonely..."
  23. Pics are getting me amped to ride!!!!!!!!!!! Crow are you finished mending yet and back on the bike??? BOS, lets go hit Tokia on sunday afternoon - will try organise a helmet cam to!!!
  24. Please give us some feedback on those Nuke Proof wheels - I was looking (longingly) at a pair a while back. Maybe I should be looking again as they are mooi neh!
  25. You people bitch a hell of alot - got off your asses and go ride your bike
