  1. Hi Armpies, I struggle to get out of bronze status but as far as I know I have done all my assessments online? Confused as to how you say its easy to get to Gold. I am on livingvitality as well so upload all garmin workouts, non smoker declarations etc, Is their a page somewhere that advises on how to get there quicker?

(I presume you are a broker or deal with it?)

Also log you outdoor events/races, up to 5000 points for a race/event depending on distance and bonus points of 5000 for your fifth event/race... I think you can log up to 15000 points just on races and up to 10000 bonus...
  2. On a 26" wheel bike?... Around a 32T.

Wait until you try ride proper hills or a decent ride 50km+... then you'll know why.

Secret is to gear for the hills (certainly on the longer rides).

I run 32x16 on my first 26" SS. Now run 32x17 on my Niner SIR9.

    Yeah 26er...

Ok cool, will get a 32t... thanx

  3. 42t .. he is telling the truth, just counted and stopped at 33t, because anything after that is a roadie bike ratio!

Ill double check tonight but very close to a 42t... and certainly not a road bike... running Bontrager tubeless MUDS... haha...

What do u suggest for front ratio with the 16t rear?

  4. What a beautifull bike,I have a soft spot for GT's and I love black bikes, coincidintally I am busy with a similar build that will have a black and white theme.these are the parts I have collected so far.

Awesome!! Pretty much there, just need wheels?
  5. Quite a ratio you have going there!!!

I do spy an alternative 'granny' chain ring though :whistling: ...

    Running a 42/16...

The "granny" gear is there cos I havent drilled it out yet, actually wanting to get a new front chainring to replace current setup... this was a really cheap build, a few parts were trades and others were good second hand deals!

  6. You have to spend R3000 per quarter before you qualify to get up to 50% of your entry fees paid back.

So that's more than 10 standard cycle races in 3 months before you qualify, assuming R250-R300 per event.

There aren't even 10 qualifying cycle races in Gauteng on the list between January and March, so you'll have to enter races in other provinces or take up running, or do an expensive event just to qualify for the first quarter.

I suspect know there will be a lot of normal cyclists thinking they're going to get money back, and will be terribly disappointed.

Where did u read that? I understood it that u can only claim 50% back of R3000 per quarter, R3000 being the maximum for entry expenditures per quarter. ..

    am I mistaken?

  7. Hi.

Anyone know who's the best local stockist of disc brake mount adaptors? I know I can get from the likes of CRC but would like to attempt at local first...

Specs are: Front-Avid IS mount 180mm rotor

    Rear-Avid IS 160mm rotor

They for the Avid elixir 1 onto a GT Avalanche frame...

    All suggestions appreciated. ..

    Thanx
