my new baby...
so far changed the bars to a cool white Truvativ, some blue Spank hs spacers, top cap and a blue Crank bros seatpost... rear shock to a Fox CTD... fork and wheels next...
The last list that was posted was supposed to be the first quarters races... new races were "to be added later"...
But now a lot are saying you wont get cash back on races entered pre joining, so say iv entered the 70.3, they add it to the list... I then pay my R900 Vitality memberships, do I still qualify for 25-50 % cash back?
So just got an email from Discovery: Team Vitality starts beginning Feb- first race is The Herald...
the events list looks half the size though... doesn't look very interesting anymore with some big ones not included:
Ie, IM 70.3, 5150 Bela bela/Ekhuruleni, Lost City, Tour Durban....
Anyone heard any more regarding this via Discovery? Wasn't it starting beginning Feb?
Also log you outdoor events/races, up to 5000 points for a race/event depending on distance and bonus points of 5000 for your fifth event/race... I think you can log up to 15000 points just on races and up to 10000 bonus...Hi Armpies, I struggle to get out of bronze status but as far as I know I have done all my assessments online? Confused as to how you say its easy to get to Gold. I am on livingvitality as well so upload all garmin workouts, non smoker declarations etc, Is their a page somewhere that advises on how to get there quicker?
(I presume you are a broker or deal with it?)
hey. i have some old kit id like to drop off...will there be a drop off point at 94.7 expo? or where in jhb can i drop off?
Yeah 26er...On a 26" wheel bike?... Around a 32T.
Wait until you try ride proper hills or a decent ride 50km+... then you'll know why.
Secret is to gear for the hills (certainly on the longer rides).
I run 32x16 on my first 26" SS. Now run 32x17 on my Niner SIR9.
Ok cool, will get a 32t... thanx
Ill double check tonight but very close to a 42t... and certainly not a road bike... running Bontrager tubeless MUDS... haha...42t .. he is telling the truth, just counted and stopped at 33t, because anything after that is a roadie bike ratio!
What do u suggest for front ratio with the 16t rear?
Awesome!! Pretty much there, just need wheels? What a beautifull bike,I have a soft spot for GT's and I love black bikes, coincidintally I am busy with a similar build that will have a black and white theme.these are the parts I have collected so far.
Running a 42/16...Quite a ratio you have going there!!!
I do spy an alternative 'granny' chain ring though ...
The "granny" gear is there cos I havent drilled it out yet, actually wanting to get a new front chainring to replace current setup... this was a really cheap build, a few parts were trades and others were good second hand deals!
Ill also use it once final terms and conditons on the cash back are finalised.
Website also states "The total combined qualifying spend at these events is limited to R3000 a quarter (and R12000 a year)."
Yeah that's what I thought...That is how I read it... 50% back on races entries up to expenditure of R3000 per quarter
So a maximum of R1500 back per quarter... If you spend R4000 in one quarter, you will only get R1500 back
Where did u read that? I understood it that u can only claim 50% back of R3000 per quarter, R3000 being the maximum for entry expenditures per quarter. ..You have to spend R3000 per quarter before you qualify to get up to 50% of your entry fees paid back.
So that's more than 10 standard cycle races in 3 months before you qualify, assuming R250-R300 per event.
There aren't even 10 qualifying cycle races in Gauteng on the list between January and March, so you'll have to enter races in other provinces or take up running, or do an expensive event just to qualify for the first quarter.
I
suspectknow there will be a lot of normal cyclists thinking they're going to get money back, and will be terribly disappointed.
am I mistaken?
Any email them with interest and get feedback yet?
Looking forward to the final list when launches.. just from current list I would have made back my R600 and more...
So.. how did u all do? What did u think? Were there medals of some sort for the finishers? We were around till prize giving and didnt see anything. .
I might be.. looking for a shock service kit that's about R350...
IS to Post mount... ok cool. I emailed them last night. Will give the guys a call this morning. .. thanx
