  2. OK thanks, let me try that and report back, its this ring that sits around the bottom of the thread we are talking about, on the replacement anchor blot you get a cut away washer, unlike this one, if there a screw that makes this washer came away from the thread?
  3. I must agree with MAX. 0700 AM kick off is just to early, irrespective of the cold it the travel time from Cape Town that puts me of, its simply to early.
  4. Thanks Droo I Look forward to it, this bolt or the replacement of it can save the whole Derailer
  5. I have a Sram XO rear derailer with a stripped anchor bolt. I managed to get a spare Anchor bolt, but would anyone know how to remove the original anchor bolt, it does not have a normal split washer or anything like that, anyone with experience in this matter
  6. I love the Maxxis Ardents, but they are so heavy at 880grams
  7. Thanks, that is what I thought
  8. the extra 40grams is so worth it for a metal freebody hub, or at least get a shimano M771 cassette with the three biggest riveted together and the next three rivited together you are not going to do to much damage to the freebody, SRAM cassettes do more damage
  9. I have a new Trek full Sus, the rp23 suspension unit is big side facing front, the standard way. however I have very little water bottle clearance, if I swapped it around I would have more space for the water bottle, can they be swapped around, I don't see why not??
  10. yip, alloy freebody wear, get a second set of chain whips, or just an old chain and wiggle a bit, it will come loose.
  11. OK Will6 attached photos of the XX brakes, let me know if you are interested to by

  14. OK so Alfa =XX VW= XT ?
  15. I have 2 sets of brakes, but can only keep one set. The XT are nice and easy to service with Mineral oils, the XX are also nice brakes light and work very well, but need to be more carefully with bleeding with DOT5.1. What would be the better set to keep.
  16. Thanks I called CWC they don't have any in stock but I have got one on back order, thanks
  17. Anyone know where I can get a Park Tool BBT-90.3 tool from or a stockist of Park tools in Cape Town.
  18. Thansk Flowta. But if I got a 31.4 could I get away without a shim, its like .2mm
  19. My Bike came standard with a 31.6 size seat post, considering its adjustable, will a 30.9 work or maybe a 31.4, must it be 100% or can it be close to the original.
  20. I think Stans Hubs and Sun ringle hubs are the same, made by the same company, Chosen . http://www.chosen-hubs.com/chosen.php?sid=5&tid=28
  21. Dont get me wrong great light strong wheels with a Stans 3.30 hub, as long as you change those bearing before they seize and damage the hub, One persons year is very different to the next person, I would say change the bearing every 1000KM, and yes they are cheap R40 each from bearing man,
  22. now that is a good hub
  23. If you love to change bearings and like replacing a free hub that gets eaten by a cassette, especially a sram cassette, The Stans 3.30 hub is up your alley
  24. Anyone know if a Hope freehub will work on a STANS 3.30 hub, they look the same but have never had the Hope hub to compare? Or if Sun Ringle is Compatible.
  25. A very early start for the long ride, why not 08h30, like Tru Cape and the HEX river, if you are commuting from Cape Town it may be a hard choice.
