  1. Cant belive there is such little support for the Merida 96 or the 120 both awesome machines well speced and well priced for R30k you can get a one hell of a bike in the merida range.
  2. O ya is it also water proof so swimming is possible too.
  3. Marius I have the RS800CX PTE and I also have the G3 GPS it can record speeds of up to 199km/h it uses 1 aa battery and has two power consumption modes, full power ofr cluttered areas where signal is weak and half which is the most common one, the gps acts the same way as the sensors do ie they gather data and transmit it to the watch which is the CPU essesntially so depending on what the rec rate you have set on the watch is the amount of memory you have. Once you download to the Pro trainer software you can clear the data and view the route on google earth or Garmin map source, then you can race against your self by resending this data to the watch when you plan to run that route again. It is a superb product and is considered by some to be better than the Garmin devices purely from the quality of the heart rate data avalible.

    Tacx Imagic

catalyst comes with it, rather buy the trainer software that allows you to ride route on google earth and ride against other on the web etc. I have an Imagic and they are great but they are still trainers and it takes dedication and comitment to ride them especially if they cost R6000 excl the steerer.
  9. Has anyone got any experince with the G3 gps pod for POLAR and is it a worthwhile purchse?
  10. He may not hold an offical position but position/title is less importnat than influence. Belive it or belive it not some groups still blame the white population for the lack of housing and education and see the government as blameless. So when Malema stands up and gives a hate speech or suggests that land reform is acceptable or whites are to be killed or leave the country he influnces the populations views which is far more than a title or postion could ever do becuase a title give you the power to enforce something where as influence makes sure that others enforce your wishes for you. Hitler had his propoganda machine the ANC has thiers too. Vote partion do whatever it takes but dont expect him to go away and do not expect it to get better unless you Mobilise against him and against the infringment on our rights as humans/citizens/tax payers and make sure the international community hears us and see the danger of what could potentially be.
  11. GO to a Specilized dealership and get a saddle fitted for you, I am 1,74m tall and arounf 90kgs and I only ride the Spesh saddles .

  13. I got the 800PTE edtion awesome watch, it does give a funky heart rate reading every now and then IE riding alone and it says my HR is 125% of max and I am on a flat having sip of water? but no cross talk
  14. Okay the Imagic has a power output indicator but I am not sure about the ANT

  17. be careful with the magura durin race, there is no agent in sa for magura products. speak to Johan Bornman he services my shock
  18. LUKEP I am currently running Rocket Ron non UST with tubes at 3 bar and find it to be iffy. I started this poll as I need to get something that will work. I rode a friends bike at Northern farms with Kenda Small Block Eights and found that I immediately had more confidence regarding the feedback given with feel and grip. The sidewalls of the Rocket Ron is extremely thin. Will they last tubeless? Maybe I can try it for the interim? Side walls are thin but I have had Zero issues (watch them rip to pieces this weekend) I ride at teak which is pretty rocky and no issues! Tyres are very personal things I know people who rode on small block 8's and could not ride in a straight line on a flat road without falling off thier bikes. They changed the tryes and presto they were fine again! Confidence is in your head but can be affected by whats on your bike! I have rideen Spesh fast track and control and was very happy with them.
  19. Rocket Rons are great I am running the non ust version tubeless and no issues. Fast light grippy!! But expensive!
  20. call conerstone cycles in Paarl speak to Dennis he is the man when it comes to good advice and service I am in JHB and I buy my bikes from him so that shows you
  21. Norm- go for the Merida I have one and I put low rise bars on to change the postion and it is 100%
  22. I managed to finish no where near the time I wanted to but the wind was pumping the whole way for my group. Pedaling down a hill and still only going 29km per hour is a very odd feeling. BUT I DID HAVE FUN! Next year I will be better prepared and hopefully I will get a better seeding!
  23. I am riding my first argus tomorrow and the wind has picked up I am also the second last group off at 9:57 I am wondering if this is all not worth the hassel!
