  1. The low GI drink contains something called vitargo, whihc is a waxy maize extract that is low GI and is absorbed 70% faster than high GI multidextroin. It was made popular by the bodybuilders because it has all the benifits of multidextrion but is not as fattening.

  5. This is correct it doesnt show on the watch but it does plot the data on google, or garmin. I have one and I use regularly. The one plus is that unlike some Garmins if the battery goes dead you just put a standard AA battery in and your away again. I use it will RS800CX watch and the cadence sensor on the bike. No issue with it to date. All Polar agents should stock it, I think they are about R1000.
  6. G3 GPS is multi purpose
  7. What is the RRP
  8. Only advice I would give is that if your are as hard on your bike as you and your riding mates say, dont buy second hand but new then if the frame breaks you are covered. Other than that dont worry about anyone elses thoughts but your own.
  9. Sometimes a light spin helps flush latic acid out of the muscles, dont push to hard and it will be fine.
  10. Good AM light DH type bike, Loads of plushness with the FSR design A bit on the heavy side for any other kind of riding
  11. Good idea I recon thsi is what I am going to do
  12. Seems to me that ICE ID is the most popular. I personally have the Sweat Safe band, Essentially both are the same thing But with the hosptials being the way they are with regards to confirming that you have medical aid and that you are a paid up valid memeber with and ICE ID tag they will still call your medical aid to confirm that you are a valid memeber of that medical aid. For example I buy and ICE ID tag now and in 3 months I cancel my medical aid, my medical aid number would still be on the ICE ID tag, so the tag is not up to date, But with the Sweat Safe I am paying monthly for cover that ensures that I will go to a private hosptial and be air lifted etc etc even though I do have a medical aid, it just take away the need to confirm before deciiding where to take me.
  13. These wrist bands are valuable to all active people who train on the roads or in the wilderness, but we seem to spend more time discussing power balance bands and livestrong bands, so I thought we shoudl start a poll/thread that looks at what is avalible and what is best so that people can make an infomred decsion and get some form of ID in case of an emergency.

    Torque

Torque wrench is a great tool! If you want to just check that everything is tight once a month so it doesnt bite you wjile out on the trail you need it. I have a full susser and I check the torque settings of all the bolts etc once a month.

  23. It is a good bike, handleing is really good as said above it is not a plush bike very effcient and very fast but comfortable about 100times more than a hard tail. What size bike are you looking for perhpas you can take my bike and I can get a longer travel ride? Specs on my bike are: 2010 Merida 96 3000d Magura durin race fork Truvative Noir Crank DT swiss XR4.2d rims on XT hubs Hayes stroker carbon brakes with 160mm f/r XT discs XTR shadow RD XT FD KCNC handle bars Bontrager grips Weight 11.8kgs Size 18" Let me know if you keen
  24. Can anyone confimr 25% of the shock stroke (which in this case is only 50mm) as the correct figure?
  25. I have a Merida 96 3000d which comes out with the X fusion 02 rear shock. I find the travel of the rear to be lacking when it comes to small bump complience, it only seems to work on big hits or square edge hits. For example when going down steep rocky descents when the back wheel takes a hit lifts up and trys to go over the handle bars this bucking of the rear make decent difficult even with all my weight as far over the rear wheel as possible . I have lowered the shock preasure and it make the bike feel a bit wallowy. So fellow 96 riders what is the magic sage setting in terms of % of the shock travel or in terms of mm While we talkiing about this bike the Magura on the front works really well but on big hits it make a loud shreeking sound- anyone with this problem?. Thanks
