I miss my Stratos...

I noticed that the Stratos feels and probably is faster than my previous Giant XTC and my current Merida Big Nine.

I can't remember the bike being that heavy!?

I didn't save much with the wheels. I also did a form upgrade that save a couple of grams. I got the RS Reba.

Oh, and I had lighter American Classic wheels on.

You will have to spend a lot of money to reduce the weight. The bike is heavy yes, but I didn't really feel the weight while riding. I managed to get a 30km/h average over a 105km road race. I also used Crossmarks for years, until my new bike came out with Ikons, so much better.

When I still lived with my parents, my bike slept in my bedroom, even though there was enough space for it in the garage.

Jonkershoek is still on my bucket list. Will probably check it off next year in March, if Corona allows it.

Last week a fitted a couple of new parts, I told her I was just doing some adjustments for better riding. Setting the high of the saddle, tuning the brakes, those sort of things.

I can buy new bikes without my wife ever noticing, as long as the color stays the same (and as long as we have food at the end of the month to eat). Luckily my bike is black, so there is a million new black bikes I can buy.

my slicks is for tar only, all the rest is mtb tyres.

As long as all your parts fit (hub/cassette), you would be fine.

I have two sets of wheels, one with slicks for the road and the other for offroad.

My new bike came with Maxxis Ikons. I had Crossmarks for a while now, but I kind of like the new Ikons for XC riding.

Clean Green and a toothbrush.

I just upgraded to a 34T. Still need and take it for a test ride.
