  1. Fixed it for you Im not a VPN fan at all for normal use, the overhead affects latency quite a bit.
  2. Its always interesting to me to see the popularity of brands in different countries. I work with people from all over the world and have noticed that all of my Aussie colleagues ride Trek, the brand is very popular over there. You definitely dont see the same thing in SA, this is Giant and Spez country for sure.
  3. Im very much over the C-19 discussions but Im also interested in what NZ's plans are around it. Its all well and good that there are no new infections with borders being closed up, but how long can it stay like that? Surely as soon as those borders open again the infections will go through the roof with so few of the population having developed immunity? Or am I missing something?
  4. Its funny how using a hand plane tells you very quickly that you need a HEAVY workbench! Its the reason I built mine so heavy from the start. I will still make a split top Roubo at some stage, its still the best design and most functional bench I have seen.
  5. Love the design! My wife was saying what beautiful wood you used for the mount system. I explained what it was and she says "Rosewood... for castors... ?!?!" :D
  6. Yup, no matter which other kids he ever rides with, his bike will have done so many awesome things vs the other kids cruise up and down the street! Its something to be proud of.
  7. Wow that is a thing of beauty, absolutely love the finish of the Ti tubing. That cow in the second pic looks like its silently judging you for something though!!
  8. I nearly bought ones of those Milescraft presses for doing dog holes in my bench. The only other way really is to make a jig to guide the bit but that never seemed like a good idea to me.
  9. Haha! I fully understand that. My hand plane cabinet gets stared at often.
  10. I bought a floor standing one from Adendorf, the quality is actually pretty decent and it wasnt that expensive. Its a very well used tool in my workshop and I dont regret buying it at all.
  11. I love hand tools, Im just not great with them. I have a bunch and they make me happy whenever I look at them.
  12. I dont see a tweet, is it attached to the post or has it been removed?
  13. You illustrate a good point, you can be crazy fit in terms of burst strength and speed but also be unable to run a 100km race with that same fitness. Its the whole fast twitch vs slow twitch story. Expedition racers are a special kind of fit with hectic mental toughness added in.
  14. Great choice! I love Miro's work.
  15. Im not saying this is the case with Bogus, but its the case with me. Im a pretty heavy introvert, there are times when Im recharged from being in my own space for a while and can interact merrily with people. Next minute I can receive a whatsapp from a good mate and not be able to find the energy to read it and reply. Im in the IT industry and not client facing, Im also good enough at what I do that everyone accepts it. Again, not saying its the case with Bogus but its also entirely possible.
  16. That has to be a lie, no one replaces oil in a landy, its just going to end up on your garage floor anyway so may as well leave it dry
  17. Naa that would never work. If that happened a new forum would take over and the numbers would dwindle into obscurity on this side. I dont really see any doom and gloom in this, I think its a good idea personally. Heck I havent been on my bike in more than a year, I even started a thread about it a while back. The reason Im on here multiple times a day is because of the community, I have made friends and this place feels like a good comfortable environment.
  18. The difference in price and time for the top of the line manual would hurt that flavour difference for me! Maybe my taste isnt as refined as others, Im equally as happy with my coffee as I have been in the fanciest of coffee shops.
  19. Having grown up with Alfa's exclusively I can relate Still love them, still dont want one!
  20. Its funny how you get to know personalities over time on a forum like this. Pretty much most of the people I expected would support this have their yellow borders and I think that is awesome.
  21. It costs money to host and develop a site like this. Sometimes that can be recovered in the form of advertising but with all of the ad blockers that isnt always the case. I think the bottom line is that you either want to support the site of you dont. If you dont then that is cool too, this community means more to some than others. Forums like Carbonite have been doing this for years and have not put themselves behind a paywall.
  22. Haha beat me to it bud, after all of these years its an actual things now It absolutely should have been called BikeHub Premiumâ„¢
  23. Dont get me wrong, I would love one of those too, Im just not going to spend the money on something that would get used less than the bean to cup.
  24. I know there is not much love here for bean to cup machines, but honestly you wont notice much difference between a good machine like a Jura and the manual machines. For me the convenience beats the process so Im happy with all of the automation.
  25. There is an interesting difference between American and European/Asian drills, the American ones normally have the handle grip at 90 degrees to the drill body whereas the European/Asian ones are at an angle. There are arguments for both being better but I think it comes down to personal preference.
