  1. Rain were always a little dubious with what they were trying to achieve. I dont know of a single customer that has been happy with their services, most people found it to be reliable in the early days but now its a complete waste of time.
  2. Does Crown do Spez too? Or was that another store that was recently robbed in CT? I see the bikes were recovered by the police in the Spez robbery.
  3. Yeah look its up to the others to adapt if they want to survive, its always good for the consumer. I wonder if SA will ever get Ikea? Personally I would rather be in AU or NZ and not have to think about that answer
  4. With anything suspension related in CT then Stoke Suspension works will always be able to sort you out. http://stokesuspension.com/
  5. Wow that is just terrible, humans can be such horrible creatures sometimes.
  6. That is a really clever idea! I have heard Ikea furniture is really cheap, its pressed cardboard or something like that isnt it?
  7. Blum make REALLY nice hidden internal hinges that do what you are looking for. Im not sure which distributors have them in your area but these are the contact details for Blum SA. Blum South Africa (PTY) Ltd. 212 Katherine Street (16 Bowling Avenue) Kramerville, Sandton WENDYWOOD/JOHANNESBURG 2144 SOUTH AFRICA Phone: +27 11 4448118
  8. I havent but that could be really cool for a lot of users. Im very comfortable with Arduino code and built a lot of IoT projects with it, so its not such a bit deal to me. At some stage I will upgrade to a better board and possibly an enclosure if PETG doesnt meet my requirements anymore. I initially wanted to use the printer as stock to eliminate any possible issues relating to mods, its done well so far but there is always a bit more you can squeeze from Creality printers! Im actually quite keen on adapting a system like the CR-6 SE has, it has a limit type switch that the hotend is mounted to so it would be compatible with all hotend's.
  9. I still dont have a BLtouch, I dont really see a the need for one. I level once every few prints and most times dont need to change anything. I did have a really hard time levelling at first though because there wasnt space on the stock image with the Ender 5 to have the head move to the mesh positions and when you disabled steppers then the bed would drop. Upgrading to Marlin and disabling the boot splash screen gave enough space to enable the feature and its been easy since then.
  10. I like my bean to cup machine, once setup properly it makes a great coffee which is very consistent. I know its not quite as good as you can get doing everything manually, but its close enough and just requires pushing a single button when you are still half asleep!
  11. Its hard to resist upgrading right from the start with a new printer. I printed out all of the enhancements but avoided hardware upgrades for the first month or two to get everything running well. Teaching tech is great with how-to guides on modifications, Angus from Makers Muse is really good with designs and non-hardware related tips. AT the end of the day though, bed leveling is the most important part, you dont need to do it very often and when you have the bltouch fitted it will be an absolute breeze.
  12. I always wonder the same thing, its the most viable competition to whatsapp. I preferred Telegram from the start with native desktop clients that still functioned when your phone wasnt connected to the same network, the issue was always that my contacts werent going to move from Whatsapp.
  13. Yup, its always the case with new data transmission standards. The data allowances and services they are used to consume dont take advantage of the speed. The only benefit to the extra speed for now will be in terms of stability. I expect it will help a lot with rollout of fast broadband services to the home in future, not having to lay cables will increase deployment speed substantially.
  14. It will be monetized, personal data and spending habits is the new gold. The amount of info they are gathering is quite substantial, but this declaration is just to keep it above board, they have been collecting that info for a while already. The founders of Whatsapp left a while ago when they saw it happening.
  15. Honestly I dont care in the least about 5G, with the pathetic cellular data allowances in SA you could chew through an entire month's worth of data in an hour at those speeds. Now if we had decently sized caps or even properly uncapped services at affordable prices it would be a different story. It was the same thing when 4G was first releasing on phones, speeds were severely disproportionate to data allowances and the devices were more expensive than the 3G options until the SOC's became mainstream.
  16. Mecer, Kodak etc are all rebranded Axpert units and they arent great. Most installers only give them a few years lifespan. They dont do blended power so once the draw is too high it just hands over to mains rather than doing what it can and handing the rest over ala Victron, Goodwe etc. Unfortunately the inverter is where most people want to save some money and it ends up costing in the long run.
  17. Yeah for sure, the Skydio is amazing in follow mode, it beats every other drone on the market when it comes to that. Im just not sure how practical it is for normal everyday drone stuff. Another drone I wouldnt mind at all is the Autel Evo 2, they are just a little expensive.
  18. Why the Skydio? From all I have seen in review videos they look good at following you but not great as a controlled drone. I would personally rather go for the Air 2 with local support.
  19. Port Alfred is a great spot. East pier has a long peeling right when its working well, some of the best waves I have had. West pier has a gnarly as heck wedge when the conditions are right. Been spat out on the beach many times. SA is beautiful but its dampened by constantly needing to check your surroundings and see who is watching you. There are so many amazing places all over that are just not safe to visit anymore. Its very sad.
  20. Im honestly not sure why it wasnt a more popular bike in SA, they look flippen sexy and the pricing was very good. I havent heard of anyone that owns/owned one and didnt like it.
  21. My father in law makes us a loaf of sourdough every Sunday, that is the only bread I can make an exception for, it's that good. Part of my thinking was because of my neighbors, they have been vegetarian for the last 10+ years but they eat a ton of bread. They are all overweight but their son is obese, probably the heaviest kid in the school. That got me wondering about how much bread is in their diet. My brother has been vegan for many years and can munch a loaf of bread a day but still end up looking like Brad Pitt in fight club!
  22. You are going to make an interesting art piece out of the old frame right??!?!!?! If anyone can do something interesting with it, then I would think that person would be you!!
  23. Yeah with Spez the warranty will be voided if any 3rd party repaints it. I doubt you will get any joy from Spez themselves but worth asking to know where you stand.
  24. I have noticed that a lot of vegans eat tons of bread, this often leads to putting on weight and them wondering why. Bread wrecks my stomach so I stay away from it, but Im curious as to whether its a staple for other people on plant based diets?
  25. Hahaha! Im surprised there wasnt a second comment from someone who does crossfit
