  1. Where is @Moridin hiding? https://www.toolcraft.co.za/collections/on-promotion/products/sawstop-professional-cabinet-saw-250mm-3hp-36-fence-and-table Thought this might tug on your heartstrings a little....
  2. I have been playing guitar and bass for just over 20 years now. Admittedly I dont play much anymore, I just got a bit bored of it. Im sure I will pick it all up again at some stage.
  3. Doom definitely works for removing sticky residue. It used to come standard in the tool kits we used at Vodacom when I was in branding many many years ago.
  4. Very nice, that wild olive is gorgeous wood. Mr woodturner have a pretty big selection of pen kits, been buying mine there for a few years now.
  5. Africanus have HUGE personalities. My vet was telling me when he was young and first practicing he couldnt understand why some people wanted them. As he got to know them more he now says he cant understand why anyone wouldnt want one!
  6. Beautiful girl. I have such a soft spot for all bully breeds.
  7. I have been working on this restoring this bench for the last few weeks. My grandfather and I made it when I was just a wee lad. Its over 30 years old and I though it was gone many years ago. With my fathers passing recently I had to clean out his garage and I found the bits from the bench strewn about in horrible condition. So I set out to restore it to its former glory. The frame was made with meranti and the panels were old tongue and groove oregan pine floorboards that my grandfather had salvaged years before. There was a lot of wood rot all over due to the damp garage they lived in so I had to cut things down quite substantially to get to solid wood and then re-shape everything to match the original. I think it came out quite nicely in the end, I added levelling feet to get it off the ground because the area it will live in for a while has a tendency to pool water when it rains.
  8. Ahh so I did guess the correct person then Such an awesome chest for your typing supplies.
  9. I started getting nervous half way through reading that! Wow its pretty damn amazing!!! DJR I hope you enjoy it, that could hold enough materials for a whole lot of flies.
  10. Great job mr VB. If you need more pallet pine in EL give me a shout, got a great place to get it from for very cheap and very good quality.
  11. Yeah there are a number of reasons to do something, I just get annoyed by people who claim its a moral responsibility when it clearly wasnt the reason they started at all. Maybe it just boils down to me not enjoying being told how to live my life, be that diet/religion/political views etc.
  12. And in this fred all tjops are frowned on, its a meat free zone I think most things boil down to what works personally for someone, if its being vegan, religious, sport obsessed etc then its all good... unless its those damn crossfit people! Its nice to have a place to find out more about something.
  13. So I have been noticing an increase in people on facebook who have turned vegan constantly telling everyone else what horrible humans they are. Its quite funny really because two of them went vegan for reasons not related to animals at all. One of them has kids that were allergic to a lot of different stuff and the diet was better for them. The other is currently living in Vietnam and was too scared to eat the meat available there for fear of what it could be and concerns around hygiene. But now they are trying to push the agenda that everyone who eats meat hates all animals lol. Its funny how the plush leather interiors of their cars or designer leather shoes are all fine though because you know its just how they came. Im all for making decisions that are beneficial to your environment or circumstances, but dont come and shout from the rooftops about other people's choices when you are clearly not perfect. *just a thought* Why are vegans generally so pushy about it and vegetarians arent?
  14. My wife wasnt very popular when she offered free tattoos to my nephew and niece when they turn 18! currently aged 10 and 7.
  15. I have friends that are vegans and are fat. Eating too much of anything will do that to you.
  16. I bought my wife a tattoo kit for her last birthday, she is a fine artist and wanted to give it a go. Im probably going to end up with a bunch of tattoos once she gets bored of the practice skins!
  17. Couldnt agree more! I hate turning pine for any reason. I had nothing else I could use though and needed to get it done in a hurry. So much end grain to deal with so it was a pain. Even worse was holding it on the lathe, I had to change jaws at least 3 times per ring and turn a jam chuck just to get the damn things done. Definitely not something Im keen to do again in a hurry!!
  18. Not very happy with how this came out but I was working with what I had. Pine board cut into squares and turned for the rings, loads of tearout everywhere I used gel food colouring and a beeswax blend so that my sisters little guy can chew on it if he wants to.
  19. Get some openwater swimming in. Its where most people get themselves unstuck on their first race. The rest should be business as usual for you really.
  20. Yup, variety is the spice of life. The idea of having to cut something out of your diet that isnt harmful to you seems like denying yourself some variety.
  21. Yeah I cant do wraps either :/ The thing with most ways of eating that are fairly strict is planning in advance which isnt always easy to do. It was like that with banting too. I *love* veggies, my wife does too and we actually eat very little meat but we are nowhere near to being vegetarians.
  22. A vegetarian/vegan diet wouldnt work for me, I cant eat things like pasta and breads no matter how "whole grain" they claim to be. I get that people who are dong it love it and all of that but clearly it isnt for everyone. My brother and sister in law have been vegan for many years now, they seem happy doing it but i can see what a mission it is for them sometimes to find things to eat when we are out.
  23. This^ being fitter and putting on some weight before any surgeries makes a big difference to recovery. My father in law went through this last year and he lost a ton of weight in the hospital during recovery so having a bit extra before going in helps!
  24. Off topic I know but did you see Jason Peach is riding this year? hard bugger that one!
  25. My little girl decided she wanted to be closer to me last night so hopped into this chair which is right behind my desk.
