I started cycling 3 years ago. 1.8m and weighed 106kg. Cut out alcohol and changed my diet from Burgers and chips and all the junk food to cooked meals lots of Veggies. Never ate so much veggies and fruit in my life. Cut out sugar in coffee(10-15 cups a day). Oasts for breakfast 3 fruits a day with yoghurt, a cooked meal at night. Dropped 24 kg in the first year. Did the my first Karoo to Coast that year in 5:59:36 . Last year I did it in 4;31;10 :clap:My first Argus road in 3:46. Only drink Catle light now and then. Weight still down. Buy the way I eat Chocolates like it is going out of fashion. Cant take the FAT In my Diet. Age 46.

Could you post the route profile for the short distance. Got friends wanting to do the short one. Gonna do the long one again. Keep some gas in the tank for the last 10km. Lekker race and good training run for the Karoo to Coast. This could very well become the West Coasts version of the Karoo to Coast. Great bunch of Marshalls and helpers at the water points. O YEAH DONT FORGET THE COOLING OFF IN THE POOL AFTERWARDS.

Stick to 29er. Its faster. run the tyres to the max. Take the bike that weighs the least.

The Sola 4 has a thicker frame. I have the Sola 1 and its awesome. Very responsive. How do they compare components wise? Air shock is better than Coil spring, Slx is better than Deore and this list can go on. Do you do short rides or long rides or both. Do they have 2 or 3 blades in front?
