  1. Was there last Sunday - trails are generally in good condition and mostly dry, still some mud here and there, red route also a bit overgrown in places. Go, you'll have fun
  2. Never nice to hear about an incident like this - wishing your mate a speedy recovery
  3. Welcome Doug - awesome to set yourself a goal and chip away at it, best of luck and enjoy every bit of it
  4. That's really sad news - RIP Rodney and condolences to his family
  5. The Vespa colour you were originally after - it's called Baccarat. A pic of my 2003 ET4
  6. Yoh! The guy that hit me last November was also driving and texting.
  7. Please update as to what they have to say
  8. 1x9 is probably the route I'm going with the planned Inbred mtb build
  9. According to that table all the bikes I've ever owned have been fitted with the wrong length arms BUT that's what you get when you purchase an off the shelf bike as opposed to a custom built bike where you can actually specify the length. Is it perhaps a case of making do with what you have when it comes to fitment services?
  10. I'm busy planning another mtb build using a 26er On-One frame I recently bought and was doing a bit of web crawling / searching to see what the ideal crank arm length would be for my height - I've by default always just used 175mm cranks since that was what was fitted to the bikes. I came across this - seems to be a pretty useful table which gives some guidelines: Crank Length = 160mm If you're 1.5m tall or shorter Crank Length = 165mm If you're between 1.5m and 1.65m tall Inseam less than 73.6cm Crank Length = 170mm If you're between 1.65m and 1.78m tall Inseam between 73.6cm and 81.3cm Crank Length = 172.5mm If you're between 1.78m and 1.83m tall Inseam between 81.3cm and 86.4cm Crank Length = 175mm If you're between 1.83m and 1.88m tall Inseam longer than 86.4cm Crank Length = 180mm If you're taller than 1.88m
  11. That's excellent news - the pins coming out not the measly 1kg
  12. The paint stripper removes all of the paint but it leaves the aluminium pretty "dull" and rough so you need to sand paper the frame. I used those sanding blocks you buy at Builders Warehouse for like R15-00 each, used the fine one and then finished off with some finer water paper. Only once I was happy that everything was nice and smooth did I start polishing the frame, it's time consuming and dirty work but the end result is worth it.
  13. What he said
  14. I've been using different versions of Time Atac's for over 10 years already. Ridden everything from Sani to Epic with them and never had any issues. In terms of durability I'd rate them right up there with the Shimano's
  15. I live in the area and it's still pretty much business as usual. The legal wheels and processes in a civil case can drag on for a very long time so I wouldn't expect to see anything major happening very soon. If criminal charges have been laid that would be a different ball game and the boys in blue could come a knocking at any time.

  18. Damn and I thought they were all behind me
  19. Awesome gesture, hope it finds a deserving home
  20. Just filled up with petrol at the garage across the way from them, business as usual it seems.
  21. Signage at any obstacle can play a big roll especially if a rider doesn't know the track or route very well or hasn't ridden it before. I've fallen my poepol off over many years and most of the times have been when my perceived skill levels and my real skill levels just aren't on the same page Riding within your limits is the key, if you're not comfortable riding something then take the chicken run (if there is one) or get off and walk through it.
  22. Good on you for replying - there's always at least two sides to any story. If the matter is going the litigation route leave it be and perhaps reply once the litigation has run it's course.
  23. Surely if there's more than one case it's an organised scam!
  24. Does alloy or steel really make that much of a difference for a balance bike? It's all about having fun and learning new skills at that age.
  25. Sorry, my bad, you have spoken to them and they indicated you knew it was grey import. Yoh, makes their actions even worse
