  1. My daughter has a book collection of > 200 and her book case is full, so she wanted some extra space. I built this one from laminated pine shelving with blind dado joints for the shelves. It is 900 wide x 2400 high. One coat of white Double Velvet so one can still see the grain through the paint. One friend suggested that I advertise and sell them - do anyone have an idea what it could be sold for?
  2. Just check the charger, will it work here? USA uses 110 volts, 60 hz. We use 220 volt 50 hz. Maybe buy the tool and battery there, but the charger here. But that then limits the options again. :-(
  3. Now how am I supposed to get any more work done today?
  4. Received this from the UK yesterday. Played around a bit last night.
  5. Tx, seems as if they do metal only. They are looking for wooden (supawood) hearts.
  6. Does anyone have a contact for laser cutting in Gauteng? My friend need 100 hearts of around 10 cm by 3 mm thick for his wedding.
  7. Thanks Sir, It is only the last 4 years that I managed to get back to woodworking (did not have space to do it previously - and limited time), so not many impressive projects done yet. Most of my previous stuff was more functional than visually appealing (lots of built-in cupboards for own use, a mobile work bench, router table etc.). The pens are nice and quick, so I have made a few pens already. Will post one or two more pics when I photographed them. (Also still plan to build a "light box" for pen photography.) There are a few more projects at home that has to be done, will post them as they are completed. PS: I have done a few pencil sketches a few years ago, will see if I have a photo or two... PS: Check out this mobile workbench - I bought his plans and built a similar one. http://benchworks.be/en/projects/mf-tc-multifunction-tool-cart/
  8. Hi There, I made a few pens (for sale) to support a young Gauteng rider to get to to the SA Track Champs in Belville in April. He did get a medal or two last year and I would hate for him to miss this year's event due to finances. The proceeds will be used towards his travelling and accommodation cost. 9. Fat chance, all the small mistakes is where the sentimental value sits. This one not for sale! But I will make you another one for not such a cheap price.
  10. Thank you. But the pictures does not show all the small mistakes... . Next one will be better...

  12. Hi There, I did not know about this thread so posted my project under a separate topic first - was then advised to post it here as well. I built this table / pool table over the past 2.5 years. It comfortably seats 14 people, can be used for table tennis (standard size) and obviously a pool table as well. The top consist of two halves that can be removed / replaced to switch between the table / pool table. The pool top is slate. The wood is African Rosewood.
  13. Drooooooolllllll..... Love the black. At one stage I was considering to have my brand new red one sprayed black. Just need a black SiSl crank...

  20. Can a Garmin 520 be used to control the trainer for power intervals?
  21. Being blessed... Eventually I ordered the complete bike for direct shipping via courier to SA. Was stuck in EMS for c 4 days with nothing happening, but once I got hold of them on the phone it was released in a day, but the amount payable seemed wrong... But I saw that customs classified it as "Other" this morning when I collected, therefore there was no 15% import duty. I asked them about it: "Are you sure the amount is correct, is there no duty payable?" "What is it?" " A bicycle" "Well, it seems as if if is your lucky day." "Thank you very much! Have a blessed day!" And made sure I get out of there before they changed their minds...
  22. Sorry, double post - don't see a delete button...
  23. I always compare: Pounds, South Africa Delivery. I have not seen CRC the cheapest on any of the stuff I looked at. Between Evans Cycles, Merlin and Westbrook I have always found it cheaper than at CRC. All three those others always deduct the full 20% UK VAT.
