  1. there is another event on at hillcrest on the 6th and the race route needed to be diverted.
  2. Yip. cmc (cycle maintenance centre) had a couple of bikes taken Nobody (or nothing) is safe anymore crackajack2010-05-26 03:00:04
  3. That crank wouldn't look good on every bike but it really looks good on your moab ....oh... and kudos for riding the double...i know i can't
  4. You guys crack me up with your humour. Bummer techguy brought sanity to the thread with a well constructed explanation of the crack issue.
  5. Nice one Dion. I hope the Durbanville riding community continues to support u. great service as usual.
  6. with 15000+ posts mampara knows what he is talking about. that is a perfectly correct answer. used both and like the 93 because it looks better 4 longer.
  7. see an attorney.it wont cost too much to get the ball rolling, then see how far u want to go with it. Owen is correct.it is termed vicarious liability, but there are certain requirements which must be met,as pointed out above. i wouldn't pursue the driver as u will probably achieve little. sorry about the acccident and good luck (i would represent u but i only qualify to practice next year.u are welcome to send pm if u need any free advice.)
  8. i have lots of faith. i have been doing the raindance in my garden all day...it works!!! btw: i am meeting mates for a ride at majik at 7...so no red 4 me
  9. open the red now.let it breathe.it's gonna pi$$
  10. ya. i agree. almost sure its 27.2(the narrow one) strangely trek website doesn't specify but pic looks like 27.2
  11. u can use either one. the 1090 is lighter and was made for force groupsets. if u r not too weight conscious then th 1070 is also great. The 1090doesn't wear any quicker.so if there isn't a big price difference at your supplier then go 1090. I will pm you prices on both to give u an idea.
  12. U MUST BE JOKING!!!!!!! i thought those discs were fitted by the wheel manufacturers. everyone removes those stupid things anyway. recall for that???? that would make riding a cannondale really dangerous.
  13. Ja, all good advice. generally chains will break due to one of three causes: 1) old chain which has been removed and replaced too many times; 2) poor chain installation; 3) poor shifting ( and please don't be offended by this suggestion as it is common, as pointed out above). any shimano or sram chain should give you 1000's of kms of trouble free riding in the above is observed. replace chain when it gets to 0.7 on the chain checker, as this will preserve the life of the cluster. good luck!! crackajack2009-04-20 00:03:45

    R-SYS

Have to agree with Mud dee. My racing1s are still as good as the first ride 18 months ago. Every time i go for a ride i have to take a box of kleenexs with so all the r-sys riders can wipe the tears from their eyes. front wheel failure today....? tomorrow
  15. Sorry to see your frame like that. Trash Storck ---NOT CARBON! Next time someone trashes carbon i expect those same people will never get on an jumbo jet, airplane or a helicopter(the rotor blades are carbon fiber-you morons). Fact is, every material has limitations, if someone uses pure alu tubes instead of treated alu alloy with only 2 mm thick to make a road bike frame it will end up bent and buckled in no time. You wont se a " GIANT ALU SUX" topic will you? Storck are to blame not the person posting the Storck Sux topic. They should refund him or replace the frame. Sorry but this is absolute rubbish!!! Yes, i agree "every material has its limitation".but don't trash carbon, alu, storck ,giant etc. when life happens. Hypothetical:if i am driving down the road in my honda civic and someone drives into me, should i run to honda and demand a new motor vehicle. Furthermore, if they don't give me a new car, do my best to trash their name.insane Carbon is not to blame, but neither are the manufacturers who make carbon bikes. That said, i am also sorry to see this type of thing because i know the price of that frame. Just remember life happens.Live and learn from it. btw.welcome to the hub iraqr.thanks for some interesting thoughts. and remember everyone is entitled to their opinion crackajack2009-04-17 14:55:05
  16. I had a problem with my cannondale system six. should i change my username to "system six sux" or just "system sux"? any ideas
  17. let me guess... he was cycling down the street while she was trying to cross.he crashes into her, knocking her into the air.she lands on the handlebar just as somebody is taking a photo for the ensuing court case.... How about overloading african style... crackajack2009-04-16 14:50:32
  18. If your girlfriend gives u a hard time are u going to change your username to "girlfriend sux"?
  19. all the above replies are correct. you can definitely run a 10 speed cassette on any 9 or even 8 speed shimano hub body. as regards the small shimano "10 speed spacer" that fits on the back of the cassette, that can only be discarded when using a 10 speed shimano freehub body.(if using a a mavic hub body, for example, u still need to use the small spacer) however, you cannot retrofit the other way.ie a 9speed cassette on a 10 speed shimano hub as shimano have increased the diameter of the outer "ribs" on the freehub body. mud dee's response in in fact 100% correct not too complicated hey!
  20. come on HR you can do it!!! i'm holding my breath for the big 20K.missing it will be like missing my 10th wedding anniversary Can i send you a gift when you get there?(maybe a new keyboard)

  23. my bike hangs in the garage and my dog "monster" protects it for me. I sleep very well at night Imagine being mauled by this!!
  24. At the bottom of the ad the next ad reads.."Fatal accident: A 38 year old..." This was a terrible incident that happened on saturday. A taxi, driving through Durbanville, burst a tyre and hit a fence.A baby, sitting on her mother's lap on the front seat, was thrown out the windshield and the taxi proceeded to drive over the 15 month infant, Killing him instantly. The taxi driver has been charged with culpable homicide, driving without a lisence and driving an unroadworthy vehicle. This is insane!!! How bad does a taxi related accident have to be before the govt. will do something? I agree fully with the statement "deficient application of the law..." Where i ride many taxis come flying past me way above the speed limit, and in ten years of riding that route i have only seen a traffic official once!!! sorry...just had to release some pressure before i blow up... crackajack2009-03-12 01:09:40
