  1. Sorry...I have lost count of the score ...Started at Cajees 1- Cyclelab 0 Or is this one of those " the points don't matter" things?
  2. Same product. Comes from the 現在這究竟意味著 factory
  3. So here you say you are not familiar with tracking numbers yet your slip has a tracking number affixed to it for another parcel. Hmm You know, I do feel sorry for you. But in my opinion you are the architect of your own demise. If you know that post is around R60 then you definitely know that there is speed services and tracking numbers. So to make an extra R35 you tossed your name....I guess it doesn't really matter, we are all so fickle anyway and will forget this incident before next week.
  4. The best just got better
  5. So you also know someone who owns a Peugeot?...
  6. Ever heard the saying " out of sight, out of mind"? I know 2 people who have driven into the garage with the bike on the roof
  7. I love it. Man that's funny.....bad...but funny I think AEBRO's threat not buying from the hub in the future was prophetic.
  8. This was posted as i was typing my thoughts. Hmm...maybe there is cause for disappointment but get over it. It isn't worth stressing about. Hub classifieds still remain my favorite place to buy and sell. I think we all mean well.....( well almost all of us )
  9. This is a good response! I agree 100% with your comments and applaud you for not taking a personal stab at AEBRO. I think you are open and honest. I sympathise with AEBRO. You lost out on a deal. Sh*t happens. But you have to commit!! Dibs has to be backed up with an immediate request for particulars and arrangements for payment, collection, ets. Well done on the sale and i hope the purchaser remembers to leave positive feedback
  10. Dragon sports are the wholesalers. If all else fails give them a call. I think the number is 021 461 6252.... but.....this is a last resort. You must go through your local bike shop first. They will know what year the frame is in any event. These giants have been very reliable bikes so this is unusual. As someone said earlier could be your seatpost was too short
  11. Yes, Jared has done work for me before and I can definitely recommend them. IMHO the best bike spray painters in Cape Town.
  12. Wow!!! Was cwc also including da cassette and tyres? Suspect he won't get anything near that price, regardless of cwc specials.
  13. You think thats ugly!...you clearly havn't seen a "fastride"...I will try load an image later. Has to be the ugliest tt bike by far. However, the dale looks pretty bad.
  14. You need a 31.6. I have never seen a 29.4mm seatpost before and assume it is for a specific bike. The bike shop should have known that you could not use the post. You will not find the correct shim, don't even waste time looking, so whatever you paid for that post is wasted. Personally, I would take that post back and get your money back. Don't be crazy. Get the right size post. You were totally ripped.
  15. No Caerus. I am not serious about that comment ( maybe the underlying sarcasm wasn't transparent enough )
  16. The guy probably buys and sell hundreds of bikes and we can account for three being stolen (and all were returned, i assume), sounds like some hubbers are on a witch hunt. If you think about it, had Neil's wheels not been around those "recovered" bikes would not have been recovered. Lastly, There are too many infants making speculative comments on this thread. I have not seen one bit of evidence that suggests Neil is buying bikes he knows to be stolen or that he is inserting false entries into his 2nd hand register. Somebody has to play devil's advocate
  17. As a cyclist you just can't win!!!....car hits cyclist...cyclist injured....cyclist hits jogger....cyclist injured. I am going to quit cycling and take up swimming....(is that safe?) Wait....shark eats swimmer.....err...i'll stick to cycling a bit longer
  18. I was thinking about something last week.... My wife sometimes buys P&P no name products (peanut butter, marie biscuits, popped rice, etc.. She pays about 5-10% less than the other brands like keloggs or black cat, for example. My problem is that the saving should be on the plain packaging ( as claimed by Mr Ackerman) but i find that the quality of the no name products (generally) is really poor. Now if P&P are already saving on packaging ( and I feel this saving alone constitutes the saving passed onto the consumer), then it follows that the additional saving as a result of the poor product quality actually makes no name products seriously poor value for money. The reason I raise this issue is because I feel as though buying no name products is comparable to buying fake stuff....Just my opinion. Personally, I don't buy fake anything. If i cant afford the real thing I wait until I can.
  19. i was in bicycle retail for three years. Omnico have always been excellent with their back up service. Definitely no issues there. It is however possible that they don't have stock of a replacement frame, but as was correctly pointed out above they have been known to loan the client a frame until a replacement arrives. If you do decide to phone omnico, ask for Julian - he's a legend
  20. That sounds about right. If you pop them in the wash they last a little longer. I have been using polar products for about 10 yrs so i have had a number of these straps. The price on polar products is regulated so everyone sells it for more or less the same price. I got mine from Due South just because they had in stock, but Sportsmans will have
  21. I am wondering if anyone knows how much fork travel affects head tube angle. Basically I am looking to buy a bike. It is fitted with a reba fork which can be adjusted to either 100 or 120 mm travel. The head tude angle is 71 degrees, which I assume would be applicable to the recommended front fork travel of 100mm. I ,am just curious to know what this head tube angle will change to if i adjust the fork to 120mm. It may be a shot in the dark asking as this might prove difficult to calculate...but was wondering anyway
  22. I am amazed at the tone of the responses to that story on the hub and how they contradict the responses on news24!! I will choose to post my response here as i can only agree with the course of action taken by the cyclists. I do feel sorry for the dog (not its fault) but the owner must pay and take responsibility. PS The responses on news24 are ridiculous and short sighted. It is so easy to make such comments if it didn't happen to you.
  23. I think this is over simplifying things. IMHO the reba is better than the sid because it is stiffer and tavel can go to 120mm. the weight penalty is minor.....point is, and crow did allude to it, is that it depends on riding style.. To answer your question.reba is dual air...infinite adjustability....great if you know what you are doing....recon is solo air....not as good but pretty much the same as a fox .works well and a little heavier. The zaskar 29er represents best value for money...if my memory serves me right...
  24. 10 replies and 10 different recommendations......that's the hub squirt is my choice and I have tried most
  25. It is impossible to say as there are literally dozens of carbon manufacturers and they have numerous moulds which can be adapted on request. However, this is a time trial frame and wont be suitable for normal road riding... But i agree...no name...often chinese/taiwanese...not necessarily bad quality
