  1. And a new zwift tv for that aweful empty wall
  2. Time to try and get back into this cycling thing that has eluded me for a few months, motivation is non-existent and maybe a trainer will help ????
  3. I take offence to this statement!
  4. I can help you get below 11kg! I have a fork and you have a fork
  5. So nice!
  6. I was ready to drive through last night, got a response this morning saying someone was on their way.
  7. Whoever bought a C59 Nero today... I hate the fact that you were faster than me
  8. Sometimes you have to solve 2 problems with 1 solution, enter my wife's first (3rd bike) which just so happens to be big enough to be my hardtail gravel/race bike when she doesn't ride enough (per the previous 2 bikes which were too small for me to use and were sold with a total of 8km and 15km ridden respectively). Frame: Momsen SL729 (1120g) including cable hardware Rockshox SID Ultimate courtesy of Loch Ness SRam GX from Solomons Guide RSC 4 pots from CWC and some Lyne Pulse 30s to round it off 9.8kg excl pedals (Wayne don't look)
  9. find a 55cm for me and we can swap
  10. Wayne I'm getting my master complete re-chromed now in prep for that paint job. R950 for the frame and R150 for the fork including full prep, acid wash and re-chroming with a reference from EvanB http://andele.co.za/
  11. Anyone else finding it interesting that people in the classifieds seem to think COVID-19 turned their Colnago's into gold? Some of he asking prices are insane.
  12. She has a large VSD and DORV. Also had a PDA and a small ASD at birth. PDA was fixed when they banded the Pulmonary Artery on the first op and I think the ASD was small enough to close itself. This op was to fix the VSD and tunnel the Aorta to the right place but she now also needs a pulmonary valve replacement and a blockage in the tunnel to be fixed.
  13. My Master Piu restoration project is changing a little - it is not going to be original. My 3 year old daughter had her second heart surgery on Thursday, a bypass which did not go well she is fighting for her life in ICU only to have to go back in for another bypass in a couple of days, as soon as she is strong enough. This bike will be painted for her. I haven't decided who to work with yet as I am still waiting on the original round of quotes and haven't had time to discuss this with the artists, but I still want to base it off the below paint which I had asked for quotes on. The red is the right colour but instead of the diamonds fading to silver on the down tube I want hearts. Opposite Ernesto's signature I want "Little Brave" and instead of the head badge I want a stencilled heart - something for Mackenzie. Lastly, like the grand tour champion she is. I want the commemoration of every heart surgery that she has beaten. 22/02/2017 17/09/2020 TBA - In the next week Excuse the ever so slight off topic. What other ideas do you have for this project?
  14. Exactly why I said fair price and not cheap price. I'm not sure that the JHB contenders can deliver on my expectations, I've seen their work and it is not the same quality/fitness so I'm happy to ship. I've considered BMC/Bogus/CBR in Durban so far but not sure who I'm missing.
  15. Hey fellow addicts. With much disturbance to the force, I have realised that I turn 40 this year. Coincidentally I have also realised that I have a Master that needs to be refurbished as some heathen painted it black and a CT1 that somehow has managed to stay in my garage even though I had two confirmed buyers and this obviously means that it needs to be brought back to original too...right? What better 40th present than 2 refurbished classic Colnago's for me to spend more time and resources trying to find the right parts for. So today's question: Who should I send two frames to to be restored perfectly? Here is my list of things to be done: Master: re-chrome seat and chainstays appropriately for chosen paint scheme polish chrome lugs and fork strip all old paint to bare steel check and address any rust (does not look back for a 30 year old frame) repaint in chosen paint scheme using airbrush only (currently thinking Saronni largely because it is red and I already have a yellow C40 and a blue/pink CT1 so this can then be my Vuelta bike to bring home all 3 grand tours) CT1: brush off dropouts to remove any hint of corrosion seal dropouts appropriately touch up and blend dropouts, head tube, seat collar and bb. The tubes and art decor CTB paint are still perfect but the last touch up of the above areas was not done professionally enough for my standards. possible paint the flash fork to match the frame. I'm looking for paint mastery here, good service and fair pricing. current to be current option 1 option 2
  16. Modderfontein reeds section, nature did the trail maintenance here. That said I really think Tarako deserves props here. I have ridden Modder for nearly 10 years and they have done more on the trails during lockdown than any other trail manager in the last decade. It also looks like they have blocked the river section due to the resident raptor that likes to attack the helmets of unsuspecting cyclists.
  17. Is the makro you start from a secret, would love somewhere safe to park for a ride like that.
  18. My sentiments exactly. I'm the only guy that's buy the bright purple and orange Pyga that someone else painted - it's cool... and no one else has one or can get one and I've had two Landy's as well.
  19. A friend rode there today and did 32km, here is his message: "Those trails are looking good. I'd be asking myself if brakes are absolutely necessary" Get on your bikes and ride (I'm just waiting for my brakes after my lockdown rebuild).
  20. You sir are indeed correct!
  21. Your response is natural, it's your money after all, but still not reasonable. Let me use a non-cycling example to explain. I once had a recruitment company, who I'd worked with for 10 years sell me a black Friday deal where if I paid 100k up front they would discount my recruitment per candidate for the next year. They were reputable, had won awards, and placed many candidates for me over the years. 3 weeks later they were in liquidation and the owners dodged out of JHB leaving their staff and clients with nothing. Do you think I could get my next recruiter to honour their theft? The timing of over the moon selling their "special price" multi entry card and and their subsequent dodgy "exit" from Modder cannot be overlooked. They stole your money for years by not re-investing it in the trails anyway. Why screw up a new and hopefully responsible and engaged business manager who needs your money now to make the bike park you want. If your R300 is that critical log a claim against over the moon, their business is still operational. Otherwise consider it an investment in a better Modder bike park. If you can't do that, we'll all enjoy better social distancing without your patronage and spend less on petrol getting to our ride than you will
  22. I'm so glad I'm not alone. My wife looked at me a little funny when I moved the cars out of the garage and took down two camp chairs so I could relax and have a beer with my bikes.
  23. Nope, edit: forgot the exclamation mark...!
  24. My bike took me nowhere. Imagine how depressed I am having sold my trainer 2 weeks before lockdown was announced FML Now all I do is watch Rapha films on YouTube. Labrador and New Foundland look enticing.
  25. My old girl, I do miss her.
