  1. Ditto, I'm still riding a bright purple Pyga that some crazy dude who likes pudding shipped to me without payment and then let me pay it off as I sold my old bike off... Karma! Wayne, you deserve to be on the receiving end too, enjoy the C40!
  2. For 35k you have an important choice to make: You can either buy the whole big red bike on the trailer... or you can get half of the puny little self-powered bike on the rack. Economics does not make sense anymore.
  3. I've ridden weekly for most of this year and obviously smell bad or something because I haven't seen it. Or maybe I just ride too fast for it...
  4. I was the same, then I just bought the talent. Get a pair of knee pads and a dropper and then age doesn't matter anymore
  5. The chaps at Trail Wolf deserve some kudos! I've ridden the Taroko trails 18 times now already this year and from humble beginnings when 98,25% (an unvalidated claim of course) of people complained that they couldn't overcome floods to manage their trails, mud, or cut grass, to the current state where they have a well planned and executed trail network which is at the same time safe for a novice rider and fun/challenging for those more experienced. Well done gents! I thoroughly enjoy riding your trails, have built skills which I never thought I'd be able to since I passed the 40 mark, and continue to enjoy the work you do and the extensions you continue to add almost weekly. My next request: bring back the downhill line under the power lines, your new version of course. I'll even learn how to drive heavy machinery to help if you want. 10km, 20km, 30km trails are all open and many sections have great fire roads adjacent to them if you are inclined to re-ride the fun parts. Most times I do the downhill through the trees at least twice
  6. if this works drinks are on me, i have a partially stripped locking on an XX1 cassette too
  7. Went to Old Mill Drift Farm outside Clarens and made the questionable decision to ride the Old Mill Drift Pass back to Clarens with a mate. Climbed close to 900 meters in less than 15km, max gradients 1 in 4 or 30% according to Garmin, ran out of water so topped up with GENUINE Maluti Mountain Spring Water (R60 for 500ml and Broadacres Spar), minus temps at the top (2200m) causing permanent ice and frost on the trail, and a little over the bars on the decent towards Clarens from a sneaky rock. Best adventure since lockdown!
  8. and.... everyone is entitled to my opinion, get a Fox 34 Factory instead, clearly SIDs are confusing and... gold stanchions!
  9. Are you buying the bike local to where you are or shipping it? You can email the serial number to Colnago and they will confirm the frame's details for you: type, year, original colour scheme. Check the size, that looks like a relatively small frame like a 50s/48s geometry. I'm no expert on the newer monocoque frames and these are likely more prone to imitation: here are some good photos for you to compare to https://ciclicorsa.com/news/colnago-v3-quality-design-lightness-and-comfort/ or you can ask for the original invoice if it is only a 2021 model.
  10. Decided I needed some therapy this weekend and rebuilt the C40 and C59 from the ground up.
  11. Here are 3 of my 4, Titanium CT1 at the back, Carbon C40 in the middle, Carbon C59 in front. My Steel Master Piu is still ugly and waiting for a restoration budget.
  12. Post it here and we'll help confirm. There are not a lot of knock-offs around in SA but you always need to check. Are you looking for classic or newer?
  13. My riding buddies give me free bike parts so the cost of transport is prepaid.
  14. It is the new s-works 3d printed saddle - a paltry ±R9k but based on a friend who bought one, comfortable.
  15. If those are your blades you NEED titanium to support the POWER. fek me.
  16. Thant crank looks like it came from Game Stores and got stored in a mud bath I feel like this in an April Fools post.
  17. I've ridden there weekly for the past 2 months or so, here is my take: There are 3 loops open Orange (10km), Green (23km), Yellow (and extended variation on Green about 28km but I'm, still exploring it). The loops are indeed shorter than "the old" Modder for now but in my opinion this will eventually be 1000% better. Instead of just cutting grass on 60km of poorly thought out and designed trails, Trail Wolf is rethinking the trail park, bringing back sections long forgotten (or reserved for the brave - like the unmaintained ruins) and actually building trails - there are now subtle features added all over the place. I had so much fun on the downhill through the trees yesterday I rode back up to the top on the fire road a few times just to redo the berms and jumps - and jumps scare me normally but these made me feel like Greg Minnaar. They've also built a pump track by the shop if that tickles your fancy. They are adding distance, but for now you have a well thought out, fun and rideable track that gets you to many of Modderfonteins' hidden gems. Who wants to ride the red hillside and the river section anyway ? These are largely the only parts still not in active maintenance - this said, you can ride any trail you want to if you know the park well. I think they are open every day and Wednesdays till late.
  18. what a ride from nino and what a sprint from pidcock
  19. I just repaired a wheel this morning for a friend with this exact problem. Be sure to check your valve too. His rubber valve seal had delaminated from the valve body so air was just escaping into the rim cavity and coming out the drain hole. I did rim tape too but this was just to avoid troubleshooting later.
  20. Don't try and remove an eagle cassette mounted to hope pro 4 hubs, the hub end cap restricts the cassette tool insert depth and stripping is likely.
  21. Word for word this pretty much sums up my race. Group of 4 started hot, WP2 reached at 27,8km/h and 158bpm avg hr. Eventually told two mates they could go ahead on the uphill to the KOM cause I just got tired of going into the red just to hold a wheel. Finished in 6:46 and got the same bronze medal as them I struggled to get the fuelling right and felt bad every time I ate in the second half.
  22. https://bike-addict.co.za/collections/rockshox/products/rockshox-sid-35-select-rl-29-15-sa120-rem-44os-fork-2021 best price i found for new, seem to be out of stock of the 120mm ultimate now, that was R17550
  23. cycling weekly just did the same. I'd rather pay that exact money for GCN+ and watch the races so I don't have to read
  24. A tiny little bit of erosion on our joberg/henley loop - great for turning flat gravel into enduro.
