  1. Disciplinary on Thursday,......wheres the kangaroo court crowd? Will it be televised? Maybe they should hold it at Cycle Tour expo and sell tomatoes at the door? Penny pinchers has a special on pitch forks, rope and cement..... just add water.
  2. Next he will on Oscar's defense team "yes your worship he shot her but he shot her gently.....4 times.........but gently"
  3. Only on the Hub can a mob move from utter condemnation to spin doctoringsuch that by the Friday MC2 will be moerse heroe's I say we line the finish area at Argus with people armed with VUVUZELA's and give them a right Attttoooooooooooooooma welcome as they cross the finish line
  4. its called "hopping on the bandwagon"
  5. Yes because its distracts you listening to the traffic around you! Has been illegal since the walkman was invented
  6. Its very likely that the van driver does not have the resources to obtain a decent lawyer. MC2 cycling club is a club of means...
  7. Dear fellow cyclists, please learn the following skill as it applies to motorists as well: Ride as fast as the situation allows. Riding at poephol speed in busy traffic is just asking for trouble. There are plenty of hazards beside syourself. Pedestrians animals motorists with limited vision, esepcially those driving Italian sports cars soccer rugby cricket moms its for your own good.
  8. this show will be on tonight. Ought to be a hoot.
  9. I have never worn out a quality BB. I use Shimano, Campagnolo and Chris King. GXP is rubbish The new Red XX and XX1 BB's are an improvement
  10. I think he expects to live a mature society, not utopia... Thats not too much to ask is it? Why now attack him for expecting a reasonable situation.
  11. lets face it, its easy to beat a speeding offence. Just ask for the calibration records and you walk
  12. no problem, go ahead. its easier to cleanoff and sticks well after being applied
  13. Hold lets not be so fast to condemn. Lets say that a portion of that is true. Does it justify the actions? They were being pelted with water sachets. Okk so what I've been pelted with water bombs by kids on Suikerbossie. So I stopped and asked them why. They said thats what people do on the tour de france to keep the riders cool. I smiled and rode on. no harm intended. During the Argus cycle tour, people turn their hose pipes on the cyclists and no one gets off their bike and tres to shove a fork through your head. I can't see any clear provocation or endangerment of life since the riders were not being brake tested (although the lead rider appears to have been break tested.........see what I did there) I think this club needs to take a long hard look inside itself and evaluate if its abiding by its ethos. My input to them is no you are not. Your riders behave badly every weekend between Lakeside and Fish Hoek, showng little regard for personal safety or that of pedestrians and not respecting the big steel cages. And your riders are generally aggressive. Maybe offer them softer saddles so that the testosterone can escape to their legs and not pool in their brains. But I also get their point on frustration with motorists. It is unsafe out there but really MC2 teach your members to pick their battles Your club owes the Sea Point Community, the driver of the vehicle, Cycle Tour and the entire cycling community an apology.
  14. lets not allow ignorance into the discussion ok. Hunting dogs have a strategy to suit an end game i.e. to feed themselves. These chaps behaved like thugs. There are human behavioural models to describe their actions without having to resort to comparisons with animals.
  15. not every helmut is bald
  16. agreed there is no place for bicycle gangsterism in Cape Town. We have enough of the usual type.
  17. pity the audio is so bad. I would have loved to have counted how many times JMSP was flung about. Whats really sad is that the 1.5m rule seems to really be making most drivers i encounter more vigilent. There are still many with a FY attitude and this incident going viral will only reinforce that attitude. I suspect a lot of poor drivers will be intimidating more cyclists
  18. metal is better all round for wear and stopping power but resin gives better initial bite and your discs will last longer.
  19. Indeed accidents happen but there is a trend and we neeed to be aware of that and not brush it off to bad luck. Part of what TokaiMTB needs to do is hazard assessment and when trails become too dangerous then it needs to be reworked. I don't have any fact surroundng this incident but generally with all the tree felling, there is a lot more stumps next to tails and these are hazards. Being aware of what the trail is offering good or bad and talking about it raises awareness. If people are more aware then maybe we'll make better choices. recently I see more people making bad ones and leaving their health and safety in the hands of lady luck....
  20. I have always advocated removing unnecessary tree stumps or sappling shoots that have been cutt off at the base due to the risk to life and limb. It seems we think its cool to not get home to our loved ones. We have an increase in severe injuries in Tokai... I think its directly linked to the result of less maintenance being allowed due to SANParks wanting to conduct their burns first. We need to treat Tokai with the respect it deserves
  21. Being airlifted out is never a good sign
  22. and cutting back the 29 portfolio...
  23. Apparently a bike company who said they would never build 650b is going that way big time in 2015....
