  1. At the top of Hakahana! Loving the 30T on the climbs
  2. I feel old, was a couple age groups above Dodd many years ago (~12), and he used to give the older guys a good run for their money!
  3. Available where? I can only find the price.
  4. Damn I was hoping to sneak in a few lessons from you.. Next DH I'll beat you
  5. I see an overflow of people needing skills training... You need an assistant Peach
  6. What's the expected price of a Reverb in SA? I'm looking at getting a short dropper for my bike (30.9mm). 100mm drop and short insert, no more than around 18/19cm. The reverb 355/100 fits the bill perfectly.
  7. The best I can explain is -25.934967, 28.218010 Riding the trails you probably go past it twice, but the quickest way is taking the blue route from the dirt road ( one that goes under the Rosie bridge jump). This blue route goes into a black which goes down to the river over a bridge. The DH is in this area. Hahaha why thank you!
  8. Finally finished this bike after buying the frame from @sakkiebomskok last year September... After a full easterweekend of riding Wolwespruit, RedBarn and PWC. Nice little DH section at RedBarn:
  9. I'm just not keen on spending days flipping them on a bucket trying to get them to seal properly. From the sounds of it, I think the MM on the front will be fine for my riding. Considering its expected life span there shouldn't be an issue as I don't do too many km's.
  10. Looking at the pictures of the tyres, I'm also inclined to the new Nobby and that WTB. Like my current Nobby, the Onza looks to have a dead spot, which has cause me to wash out on two occasions so far. The all or nothing into a corner is not inspiring when you tired! @ Robo I'm assuming you have stock of both, at the shop in 26"? Might stop by this weekend to have a closer look at them before deciding!
  11. I've read some reviews on it, and I don't think it's suitable for gauteng's dry conditions. It looks to have amazing grip, but more designed for loamy soil than our dry hard pack.
  12. I'm looking for a replacement 26" front tire. Hopefully locally! Currently I have Front: Nobby Nick 2.35 (lugs are wearing and ripping up a bit, but all are still there) Rear: WTB Wolverine (twice at hakahana and looking great!). Must be tubeless compatible! No conti's please, as much as I loved the grip of my X-King the side wall was like a sieve! This Hans Dampf seems like the obvious choice: http://www.easybike.co.za/schwalbe-hans-dampf-evo-snakeskin-trailstar-26-x-2-35-tl-easy.html Are there other options i'm missing?
  13. Could be wrong but thought I saw some at Solomon cycles the last time I was there.
  14. I'd love to take one for a spin that has a low seat. Want to hit a few jumps and some nice flowy sections!
  15. I was looking for lapierre bikes and noticed the same thing on crc!! As soon as I change my county of delivery to SA, it removes them from the search and even removes the bike from the shopping cart!
  16. This^^ don't waste your money on Stans tape for tubless. It's also decently thick so can be used as normal rip tape as well.
  17. Running Nobby Nic 2.25 up front and just fitted a Conti X-King 2.2 to the rear. The Conti was by far the easier to go tubeless with! Literally took me all of 15 min including taping my wheel! Used to run Maxxis Larsen TT all round, super fast rollers, but useless in any kind of wet.
  18. With a narrow wide, i've never had my chain come off, even doing jumps into the jozi-x bag. So never seen a need for a chain guide.
  19. Running 32 with 11-34 rear. Perfect for all the trails in Gauteng. Only on one occasion have i wished for a 30 but I was moeg :/
  20. So 80Kg on 26" Hardtail Tubes 2.8 front and 3.0 rear Just converted the front to tubless so it's at 2.0 now. I usual bomb down technical stuff with speed. so the hard tires roll fast with no snakebites.
