  1. Any of you experienced Argus riders know when Racetec might have the results up by? I did around 4hr20, satisfied with this for my first Argus. 364 days til my sub-4
  2. First time at Expo, lots to look at, lots to buy. Almost made it to safety with the wallet but then caved about 100m from the exit and dropped R350 on a stainless steel medal rack for my bike room. Eish. I personally would rather buy my bike stuff from my LBS where I know the sales staff track record and that their advice is sound - also that if i have a problem with it I can return it. Re no parking, was a breeze with the Grand Parade dedicated area although the tuk tuk ride was quite hair-raising
  3. You will be fine, i went to the doctor yesterday. Said I had a slight temperature. Hit some cough syrup, anti histamines and pain killers. And put on those big girl panties.

lol...not helping! These machines dont seem very reliable. i need to buy one this month so will soon be prowling the forums to see what is rated. Clearly there are differences.

Anyone know how much climbing? Paul was riling us up at the start about 1700m - but two people's garmin showed it was around 1200m?
  6. Shame Lesley sorry to hear, glad you are ok.

THREE friggin sponsors and NO goody bag whatsoever!!! Sies and gah.
  9. I had ErgoFit at one of the big CT bike shops who then built my MTB up using these measurements, just days before Knysna races last year (my previous bike was stolen). The back pain I suffered during these 2 events proved that this system does not work for everyone. Steve at CycleLab in Cape Town changed my stem and handlebars and did a new fitment - free of charge too. But its personal preference I guess. Trial and error as to what works for you.
  10. you can still end up with the wrong frame size even after using height and inner leg length....Good luck! Awesome bike.
  11. Have only just recovered from heat exhaustion which hit when I got home - cold shivers, throwing up and stomach cramps. Blaming poor nutrition on the bike and have learnt my lesson for Argus. Thought there should have been an additional water point before the one in suid-agter paarl road. Thanks to the dude with the deep set rims who stopped to help me pump my rear tyre somewhere in Wellington Anyone know how the total ascent differs between this race and Argus?
  12. Was considering doing this race to put some more time in on my loan Argus road bike and check the set up, but, as with all road riding it is sounding dangerous. Reading all this has put me in two minds - maybe safer to ride 80km in th ePaarl mountains on Sat and live another day. Narrow roads with sunday traffic....not so much hey.
  13. Aggg green eyed this side. Next year for sure. Amazing time by Erik, wow.
  14. My mate says they stopped when a guy trying to overtake a truck was taken out by it in the road race this morning. HE doesnt know if the guy made it, sounds pretty bad. Anyone know?
  15. Riding my bike is my version of church
  16. I hope no-one has bought anything at City Cycles in Canal Walk - just went there to collect race registration and they have the 2013 model bike I bought in Dec for R28 500 - for R36 500. Sies!
  17. Agree on the MTB distance - rather doing the 53km Porcupine Ridge race in Franschhoek on Sunday, which also has some mean climbs (and cant actually get the gradient/ascent from organisers either).
  18. thinking about it!!

Stop fence sitting - see you on the long route!
  20. Origin of Trails organisers did nothing to change results of a guy who told them, after finishing on day 1, that he had taken the incorrect route and finished among the top guys.
  21. Looking for people to mostly ride from town to Woodbridge Island with, leaving town near the Volvo dealership at 5.40pm. I'm on a MTB. I come in about once or twice a week with a friend but he rides back to Montague Gardens after we do a Sea Point/Camps Bay loop.
  22. hi all I live in Edgemead, looking for ride buddies to get home from work with, mainly the bike track Woodstock bit just to Woodbridge Island because its scary dodge. About 5.30/5.40pm from behind Volvo dealership?
  23. Friend was knocked down on Tuesday morning in Somerset Road too. Bike ok, but he needs 2 weeks bed rest and has a couple of fractures. http://t.co/yhtfBlEDBi
  24. Yup, have to say the Specialized Women’s Body Geometry Jett saddle that was on the test bike I rode in an event last year was really comfortable. I might buy it for my new Scott.
