  1. The 63km starts at 8am
  2. No unfortunately not. That would have been much more comfortable. I rode my bike the last 8km through the Grabouw plantations single track, which would normally have been bliss but with a broken clavicle it was hell. Medics at the end said just seems like your ac joint is dislocated..... Rather trust the x-rays
  3. So before I started mtbing I had never brocken a bone Well between 2008 and now the list is 2008 broken ribs 2009 left broken clavicle. Plate put in and six months later taken out due to plate starting to lift as one screw snapped 2010 broken ribs 2011 chipped elbow 2012 ribs again 2013 as in now broke the right clavicle, plate and eight crews solved the issue Moral of the story is that MtbĂng is not for sissy's or I need new glasses.
  4. We all have to earn a living some how and cycling is the hobby. The day job funds the hobby Cheers The Pool Guy
  5. A salt water pool feels more silky as you say due to the fact that the salt in the water is more gentle on your skin eyes and hair. Yo can achieve the same effect with a normal chlorine (HTH) pool by simply adding 200kg of salt per 50000L of pool water and still use the chlorine to sanitize.
  6. Different salt chlorinators have varying Ideal salt levels and for this reason you may have the perception that that the one pool is more salty than the next. Salt by itself does not sanitize the water. We had a client who had a floating pool. This means that the salt level was similar to that of the dead sea and they still needed a specialized chlorinator to sanitize the pools
  7. The Salt water chlorinator builds a up a chlorine residual in the water that should be about 2-3ppm. So there should always be chlorine in the water otherwise the pool will not be sanitized properly.
  8. Ok Guys and Gals A salt water pool is also a chlorine pool. The salt water chlorinator is just a onsite chlorine factory. The unit turns salt into chlorine gas. Nuff said Cheers The Pool Guy www.pooldoctor.co.za
  9. Had a great ride on my new 29er hard tail. The hard tail made the climbs much easier but made me suffer a bit more on the downhills. The vibe of the ride is always great and this is the third time I have done it. Will be back next year as I am a sucker for punishment.
  10. Just laughed three times in a row.
  11. American Classic make a 650b wheel set. They are light and strong. Maybe about R5k to R6k.
  12. Super sexy.
  13. Posted Gumtree a note reporting the add as a scam as the bike is clearly Aluminium amongst all the other untruths.....
  14. Damm some guys have all the luck or money...But hey thats a super sexy bikes with sweet parts.
  15. Go to http://irideafrica.com/trail-maps/ for some great maps of all the CPT trails
  16. Hmmmm lovely bike and glad to see its on the couch.
  17. @ Summit bikes, You talking about the contour path that starts just below the block house. If so the first of the 3 single track descents has some eye popping switch backs . Once you have cleaned the skid mark from the inside of your pants the next two pieces of single track down to the valley are a absolute blast. The great thing about Jonkers is that it has so many single track sections spread throughout the whole valley.
  18. Went out to Jonkershoek yesterday and was bowled over at how awesome the rejuvenated Never Ending trail is. At the top it has the old narrow trail with the steep embankment to make you think twice. At the lower sections it is super flowing and smooth. Had a few laughs seeing some of the skid marks were guys must of over cooked the route and ended up in the bush. I laughed because I almost did the same in a few spots. A huge thanks to the teams that put in the hours and sweat to get Never Ending opened again. I think AMA Rider was involved. On the flip side we were disappointed that Canary 1 and 2 are closed due to forestry in the area.
  19. For us lucky few who got into the various ride options in SANI2C. Remember today is the last day to pay or else you loose your entry.......
  20. Its not on Racetec but rather on the events home page of the Burger MTB http://www.dieburgermtbchallenge.co.za/ look under the info tag on the top left hand corner
  21. The Browser are Fire Fox Chrome Opera Windows Explorer
  22. Silvberback is also really good bang for your buck.
  23. Some times it is not the hanger that is bent but rather the arm (cage) of the derailleur. If You have a spare hanger try putting that on to test your theory that the hanger itself may be bent. Or if all of the above fails pack up your tools and take it to a bike shop were the owner is the mechanic (not some lacky who just works at a bike shop and is now called the mechanic ) and get them to solve it for you....
  24. I have the pcs10 and think it is more convenient to have the extra clamp that it offers compared to the 9. Its a great sturdy and robust work stand. Folds up small when its packed away if need be.
  25. Bring it on ...... Did 2012 and I am looking forward to 2013
