  2. hehe i see on cyclignnews.com Moreni from Cofidis who recently tested positive for testosterone in the TDF claimed he used a natural testosterone booster, which he probably did. End result? Too much testosterone in his system and he gets a positive test. bye bye Moreni. His career is over and everyone thinks he is a dork!
  3. ag nee! Dit is baie jammer. Hy doen so goed en nou dit. Ek hoop hy herstel gou want hy is die ou wat dit gaan groot maak in die tour de france oor 'n paar jaar.

Fury at 'Chainsaw killer' ruling 'Delmas chainsaw massacre' Husky decapitator fined R10 000 Animal cruelty in the spotlight http://www.news24.com/News24v2/Images/tsp.gif http://www.news24.com/News24v2/Images/tsp.gif Francois du Plessis, Beeld Johannesburg - The man who caused a countrywide uproar after using a chainsaw to cruelly behead his husky puppy earlier this year, died in a car accident over the weekend. Phillip Matthysen, 31, rolled his vehicle in the early hours of Sunday morning and died on the scene. Sergeant Marinda Scholtz said Matthysen was apparently en route to his smallholding in Sundra, Mpumalanga, when his black Toyota Land Cruiser overturned and he was thrown out of the vehicle. The accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday on the R50 route to Delmas, near Rietfontein. Stoltz told Beeld that workers on nearby farms heard a loud noise at about 04:00 that morning, but they were too afraid to investigate. No witnesses "A passing vehicle spotted the wreck at 07:00 and police were then summoned to the accident," Stoltz said on Monday. She said Matthysen was already dead when the police and paramedics got to the scene. "There were no witnesses. We're not sure if a tyre burst or if the deceased lost control of the vehicle, but he was thrown out of the car when it rolled a few times," Stoltz said. Prince Mbiza of the Mpumalanga emergency services was one of the first paramedics at the scene. He said on Monday that Matthysen had clearly died as a result of "massive head injuries". "The accident must have happened between three and four hours before we got to the scene," Mbiza said. According to him it was difficult to say if Matthysen had died instantly, or only later. His body was taken to Bronkhorstspruit mortuary where a post-mortem will be held to determine the exact cause of death. Matthysen caused an uproar in June when Beeld reported that he'd used a chainsaw to behead his still-living Siberian husky. When he was sentenced in July for animal abuse, the marketing consultant said in an affidavit that he had used a petrol-driven chainsaw to saw the dog's head off "during a fit of fury". This was after the four-month-old dog had chewed through the electrical cable of his security gate and killed an exotic macaw parrot. Magistrate C E Moldenhauer sentenced Matthysen on July 24, to 12 months in jail or a fine of R10 000. The full sentence was suspended conditionally for five years. In terms of the sentence, the deceased also had to pay a fine of R5 000 to the Springs branch of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals(SPCA). epoh2007-08-14 01:22:25
  9. The fact of the matter is you should not dope. But what surprised me is why dope whilst training in Turkey of all places (Probably thought the chances of getting tested there is low). Well, I am aware that some of them dope to get stronger and this is mostly done it training but the TDF is over, time to rest and take a break??!!@. Furthermore, this just adds a lot more fuel to Vino's positive test indicating that someone taught them how to do it. They are dirty You would think they would be more careful given what is at stake after Vino got caught. And it is just sad that someone, so young with so much talent would just go and throw it away like this. It does not make sense. epoh2007-08-09 07:05:29
  10. Source: www.cyclingnews.com Kashechkin tests positive for blood doping http://www.cyclingnews.com/photos/2007/tour07/tour0715/fs039tn.jpg Astana suffered another blow Wednesday when Kazakh Andrej Kashechkin tested positive for a homologus blood transfusion following an unexpected control on August 1 in Belek, Turkey. Astana issued a statement saying Kashechkin was suspended effective immediately while waiting for the analysis of the B sample. 27 year-old Kashechkin's positive test further damages the reputation of an already vulnerable team, however management says the news only strengthens their resolve to "set up drastic measures for clean cycling." "It shows that the UCI does a good job," said French Anti-Doping Agency president Pierre Bordry to Reuters by telephone. "I think one rider being tested positive for this kind of doping is a lot, two is too much. It is quite dreadful to see that in some teams, there is this kind of practice." Star Alexander Vinokourov also tested positive during Stage 16 of the Tour de France for homologus blood doping. The day after, his entire team, including Kashechkin, withdrew from the Tour. Homologus doping involves the transfer of blood from another person. Vinokourov was fired from Astana following a positive B sample test, but he has maintained his innocence. Astana had suspended itself from racing for the month of August, although team members were scheduled for a training camp in Switzerland to keep its riders in shape from August 11 - 24. Kashechkin was among the riders scheduled to participate prior to his positive test. Riders were expected to undergo various medical and psychological tests, and the team is planning to announce "new directives."
  11. the four day one sounds interesting but getting all my stuff transported from one location to the other whilst i am racing would be a problem. For this kind of race you need someone to take care of all the logistical matters for you. If it was starting and ending in the same place (and i am not saying it should) it would have been easier for me personally. epoh2007-08-07 13:27:56
  12. I been haven't kept tabs on the whole licensing thing but i have been told you need to take out a R30 day license these days if you want to race. Now will this R30 license allow you to ride with the lic elites? Would you be able to enter lic elites online and when you go pick up your number pay for your day lic elites license? If not, what is this R30 thing about then and what does it allow you to do?
  13. Because who ever suggested that to the UCI doesn't know what is going on??

This is really sad news, it just reminds me how short life is and we just never know when our time will come. His untimely death is a wake up to me to be steadfast in my faith in God and be ready any given moment for when that time comes. God bless the Ryan family in this difficult time.
  15. I read in the 24.com article posted on the Ryan Cox thread about the lack of medical aid cover for pro SA cyclists??! Is this true? Without medical aid in SA, a pro contract is not worth it. Can CSA not force the teams/sponsors to at least have decent medical aid cover for their riders? Article I am referring to => http://www.24.com/sport/?p=SportArticle&i=614026 epoh2007-08-01 09:48:17
