  4. I honestly would have no problem if the whole team is black, as long as they are there on merit. If it comes down to a race issue and the black player is better by all means put him in. I dont care about the color I want the best guys in the team!!! The black guys in the South African team are super good and I would play noone else in their place.. for me the issue is not about being black or white it is about merit. I know that the overwhelming argument is that they never had a chance but get them involved through a proper development program in the curry cup or some lower division and then pull them from there into the Super 12. And from the Super12 into the Springbok team. But to just pull a few guys from nowhere and put them into the Bok team.. you will make a fool of yourself and our country. The other thing as well is if the government impose strict rules I am not sure the current black players in the teams would be very happy about it either. Good players feed off each other and they make each other stand out. If you load a team to fulfill some political demands with players that are not up to scratch the good players that are there will also just become a statistic and fade away. You cant shine if the rest of your team is not shining. But I must admit I am very impressed by the number of black players in the Craven week and there were some very talented players. Some very good black talent that should be starting to come through the ranks.

  14. Source: http://blog.wired.com/gadgets/2007/09/bike-hits-1307-.html 33 year old Austrian Markus Stoeckl has smashed the World Speed Record for series mountain bikes. Stoeckl, nicknamed "Hercules" because of his 6'4", 220 lbs. frame, broke the 8 year old record by 14 mph on a 2000 meter, 45 degree run in the Chilean Alps. Because of the extreme cold, Hercules had to hold his breath for the 40 second duration so his helmet didn't fog up. http://blog.wired.com/gadgets/world_record4a.jpg
  15. Source: www.cyclingnews.com Rasmussen took Dynepo in Tour While legally not a violation of the anti-doping code, Danish rider Michael Rasmussen was found to have taken Dynepo in the 2007 Tour de France. Dynepo is an EPO product based on human cells. Samples from this year's Tour were analysed in the French anti-doping lab in Ch?tenay-Malabry, and its technicians have alerted the International Cycling Union (UCI) of the findings, French paper L'Equipe reported in its Friday edition. Dynepo was found in a urine test of Rasmussen. Rasmussen had not been found positive during the Tour, but was kicked out by his team Rabobank, following his whereabouts affair. For about a year the French lab has detected Dynepo, all in all about ten cases so far, according to Pierre Bordry, the president of the French Anti-Doping Agency. But none of the cases could have been declared as a positive finding, as the WADA criteria of positivity of a test are not yet adapted to the advances in the pharmaceutical market.
  16. Source: http://www.supercycling.co.za/default.asp?id=230545&des=article&scat=supercycling/international Dane Michael Rasmussen returned a non-negative test for the banned substance erythropoietin (EPO) during this year's Tour de France, the French Anti-Doping Agency (AFLD) said on Friday. The result of the analysis of Rasmussen's urine sample cannot be declared positive for legal reasons. "Traces of Dynepo, a biosimilar EPO, were found in Rasmussen's urine," AFLD President Pierre Bordry said. "Rasmussen's test could not be declared positive because of the positivity criteria of the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada)." An EPO test is declared positive if the erythropoietin is obtained chemically. However, Dynepo is made from human cells and it was originally feared by Wada that it could be mistaken with human EPO. Rasmussen, who was leading the Tour de France when he was kicked out of the race, was sacked by his Rabobank team after they said he lied about his whereabouts during training.

  21. I had a decent breakfast and I find a decent breakfast makes a huge difference. I noticed when I eat eggs in the morning it gives me a noticeable shot of endurance. I did a bit of research and noted that an egg contains all the vitamins and minerals except for vitamin c. chow a banana afterwards or mix it all together in a blender and I am sharp sharp!
  22. i did the D2D and was on my own time trialing from the 45km mark. when i got to the finish line i realised i still had my two gu's in my pocket. I had two bottles, one water and one energy drink which i did not finish. I did not stuff around and rode !@@#! hard... i cannot say i felt any different after the race compared to races where i did take energy gels
  23. According to Winningtime Kinnear, Jonathan won. I felt crap after 45km, got dropped and solo'ed from 45km to the end. Pretty happy with my ride, was a huge effort in the end.
