  1. I haven't seen one either so curious to know if this hack exists. Is it because you want to quickly remove and install in another bike or is there another reason for QR unit?
  2. Maybe everyone can post a pic of their new seat clamp or at least indicate which make it is?
  3. I experienced it on the right side but i think its more to do with the seat collapsing...mine wears just below the chamois stitching. I changed my seat and it solved the issue.
  4. Epic events like this surely should have Event insurance that will kick in. it would be foolhardy if they didn't take it up which I will find hard to believe given the reputation this event carries. We live in extraordinary times and extra ordinary measures should be enacted. UIF will be used to assist employers and employees in this hour of need and i feel the Epic SMT should be able to use the insurance that will or was paid out to subsidize next years team entry (75 to 80%). Its only fair seeing that, for good reason, the event was canceled on the eleventh hour.
  5. This will be great for cycling but the route will be key in attracting volumes of mewbies to the event!
  6. RACE HAS BEEN CANCELLED. The MedihelpSCT has been cancelled due to extreme weather conditions. Please check social media for more information.
  7. So is there a simply laid out brochure to explain in step form how to maximise Multiply points...moving up the levels?
  8. its all in the T&C's....and if its too complicated to understand then stay away.
  9. Its a real shame that this happened but these guys are not trained to deal with antagonistic situations in a more conducive service orientated manner. I therefore hold those in power responsible for their actions. I bet you the guy in charge of them is a drill sergeant, maybe an ex military guy so it wont be a surprise that he drilled this reactive behavior into them. I hope they solve this problem so that it never gets repeated again in future.
  10. Good on you! If I recall CBR don’t like repairing carbon wheels and will refuse doing so because the tears are generally where the spokes meet the rim making it a weakened spot and will break again. Anyway, I hope the OP updates us going forward.
  11. Yes it spoke of using technology but do you honestly think that Santam in this instance is not going to look at the other side of the same coin and not minimize costs there too? What I can assure of is, that if it was another type of claim like theft for example then the OP would have been asked for an invoice and/or a valuation certificate amongst some other requirements. So, like the old saying goes, let the buyer beware, still very much holds in the insurance space.
  12. From the Santam horse's mounth: Andre Coutts:“It’s not about paying the claim anymore. It’s about not paying the claim … We have to move to the space where it becomes about [diminishing] the risk.”. https://www.businesslive.co.za/bd/companies/financial-services/2019-11-19-affordability-pressures-squeeze-sa-insurers-barometer-shows/
  13. The OP should read the T&C to confirm and once again PSG in this instance should have highlighted this VERY IMPORTANT REPAIR aspect upfront. I believe that you pay for replacement value and you expect replacement value to paid out. Santam can claim the salvage, fix and sell it through the shop (this shop purchases it, which I doubt will happen) they have an agreement with. This is no ordinary claim and hence needs to be challenged with a bit of research.
  14. You will find that the shop they took it to they have an MOU or trade agreement with, in terms of cost containment. More and more I find SANTAM becoming "stricter" with claims assessments and its all about minimizing claim payouts. This is a trend I have noticed in many other claim event areas. I will request they offer you a cash settlement offer as well. this will be a good measure of whether it will match the one received from their preferred shop you speak of. Reason I am stating this is that you may find that they will want to pay out less because a markup on the repairs was done through their shop. These issues all can be challenged.
  15. Firstly you never paid for a repair insurance but replacement insurance. I am not sure who the insurer is but this option of repair should have been explained upfront in the first instance as well. There is no way I will accept the repair on the frame or wheels for that matter. The should in all fairness replace the frame and if they really persist as a compromise, repair the wheels as a measure of you meeting them half way but my view is that they should replace because that is what the premiums is calculated on. if they wanted to be innovative then they should have offered a repair insurance with reduce premiums. Without sight of the t&c, I am basing my view on what you mentioned. Share more on this as it unfolds.
  16. just entered CTCT...got that out of the way. Now we focus on some training wherever I can squeeze it in i guess.
  17. Any route graphic for 60 km displayed anywhere?
  18. Thanks!
  19. ok then...been out of school for decades so it shows based on my comment. What are the costs for the first 2 days for a group of 3 kids?
  20. Hi, if this is aimed at kids then why host it outside school holidays? If unable to then why in the week when these kids are at school?
  21. Thought that the 3.10 was nothing short of a nitrous miraculous result starting from a 2B start group[emoji6] Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

  23. You meant PPA...racetec times the race whereas PPA cedes the rider based on their own criteria which includes entering their event and race time as well plus other factors. Dont let BMI fool you...there are guys that will ride you moer toe....appearance can be deceiving[emoji41]. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
