  6. PLEASE SHARE WITH ANYONE YOU KNOW THAT USES TOKAI LOWER FOREST REGULARLY!! A friend borrowed my mountian bike yesterday - Friday 13th - late afternoon & when packing the bike back in the car she left my front wheel behind!! It is a 26' Merida front wheel looking exactly like this pic of the back one. I am REALLY hoping that a good soul found it & took it home to try & find the owner!! You can't buy a new Merida wheel seperately! Please contact Cindy 083 372 4772 or Wayne Robertson 083 655 6642

    BB30

Ja jsut discovered that the crankset lenth is different as well. Seem to have a crankset thatneeds an extra spacer of around 5/8mm on the non drive side as well. This is getting complicated. I see SRAMsells a spacer kit for BB30 as well.

    BB30

Here's my dilema. I just got a SRAM BB30 crankset with SRAM PF30 BB. The BB seems too large by about 1/2 mm on both sides so does not pressfit into the frame. and the bearing set seems the right size. On the actual frame there seems to be a space for a circlip , and then the bearing which would fit perfectly after this. Am i missing something or do you get BB30 frames which just fit the bearing pressed into it??
  12. Buy from other hubbers. That's online shopping at its cheapest.

  16. On Monday my wife and i were driving up Chappies to take our doggies for their walk at around 5/5.30ish and stopped at the stop n go going up. We followed 2 lady cyclists up at a slow speed, not wanting to overtake because the lane was very narrow. Anyway this tit in a landrover behind us starts hooting to get me to pass. As i glanced in the rear view mirror he had his hands up in a WTF gesture. So i drove slower and he kept on hooting. Of course at this time the 2 ladies were getting quite aggitated and when i did eventually manage to pass them , asked my wife to open the window and apologize to them. In case the 2 lady cyclists are on the hub and didnt hear as we drove past, we deeply regret the actions of the clown behind us for giving motorists as bad name. Please accept this as an apology Actually what i was hoping for was that the idiot in the white landrover behind us would actually stop behind us when we did stop at blackburn ravine parking lot because I'm sure 28 odd years of martial and street combat training would've got some good practice on him...ha ha
  17. Thanks for all the comments guys.had a ride on these and love the ride myself. If anyone is looking to buy 1 then come on over and make an offer.
  18. Thanx DJR...Very helpful advice, most appreciated.
  19. This thread is specifically for people who know the value of vintage bikes. If you dont know what these bikes are please do not comment on prices as i'm looking for helpful advice. I have 2 x Giant road bikes from a friend that used to cycle with her parents many moons ago. 1st is a Giant Cadex CFR2 with all original parts still. Condition is good. Carbon tubes lugged to aluminium frame joints. 1056 components throughout 2nd is a Giant Cadex HFR2 with all original parts. Condition is very good. Also carbon lugged with aluminium joints. This model was imported but i think it's exactly the CFR2 but from Taiwan. also 1056 cmponents throughout. They would like to know the value of these bikes.Any ideas as to value as a vintage bike or value as a collectors bike or even value as a second owner bike. Thanks all,
  20. Bridge is 1 of my favorite cycle shops. Service is a little slow sometimes but probably because they are extremely busy. never seem to get there without there being at least 5 customers all waiting for something. They move big quantities of stuff so prices are pretty good. They've even sorted out mechanical issues which other bike shops just wanted to replace with new parts. Good prices on Spez shoes at the moment. If only i had money!!
  21. Hi Vetseun, What size frame do you take?
  22. Having said that, would you agree that it's ok for taxis to stop where they want even on red lines or on corners? If you think about it, they're merely being polite by not making people walk a few metres to an area wide enough to stop. Motorists should be more considerate of pedestrians and allow this and just wait behind them dont you think?? Popcorn anyone??
  23. pyga was my fav at the rideb4 you buy. Even preferred it to the Santa cruz...and i like Santa Cruz.
  24. think i found the owner.I'll get them to PM you

    Dear Motorist

And added to that. -..swerve out into the road without looking behind to check if it's clear. -Ignore the signs especially on Chapmans Peak drive that state"cyclists single file" because you want to have a conversation with your buddy. -Read and text on your phone whilst riding. Course we could treat you like taxi drivers if you act like one.
