  1. I can only imagine that would change your centre of gravity to further back on the bike due to the new angle. So climbing should be harder and downhills should be easier. Imagine having a 140mm fork upfront with 29er wheels and 26" wheels at the back on a bike. That would be awkward!

    Wet Tokai

We'll be there. Riding from Hout Bay. Gonna be muddy!!
  3. Must've been uncomfortable riding without the seat!!
  4. And the dart 3 is about double the weight of the Terralogic..well maybe not double but it sure feels heavy!!
  5. By 2096, i assume you have a cateye. Go to the cateye website and check one of the manuals. The code for the 26" wheel is different
  6. The latest Bicycling mag compares 10 29ers..including the scott and the GT. Go check it out.
  7. Also doing half.U guys must be super fit. 2 hours is fast. Means u will have to be running 1km in 5min17secs. I do 3 runsd a week of between 10 and 16kms up suikerbossie and surrounding hills inbetween the cycling and i'm going to struggle to do 2 hours. but then again Bos is superfit.
  8. I havent fallen since i broke my collarbone..I used to fall all the time..WIERD that!! I also stuck 29er wheels with slicks on my 26er for the Argus and for the first time managed to keep up to and even pass people on roadbikes..wahhahaaa!!
  9. I have X0 on the 1 bike and XTR on the other. Like the way both work although i can downshift easier on the XTR. If u in CT come have a try on both if u want before makig that decision.PM me.
  10. Translation: "I had the best time of my life!!! Felt just like a kid again!!!!"
  11. What's the differrence between 10 speed and 9 speed chains in thickness? Shimano suggests only 10 speed super narrow chains for 10 speed. The XTR 9 speed chains were super narrow werent they?
  12. er..u didnt mention what bike it was...
  13. hey Patham, Post what bearings u used when u done. I have a Rize 4 which i'll have to do sometime. Thanx boet
  14. Measure 3 times, mark properly and cut omce. I made that mistake b4, measured well, many times, accidently made 2 marks and cut my steerer too short.
  15. If you can stand on your seat whilst riding u should join the circus.... I hear they're in town.
  16. and dont forget that with the bigger chainrings u will need a longer chain. For Argus this year used a 46,36,22 combo. worked ok but not ideal. would be interested in seeing some of these shimano combos...time to check CRC again.
  17. geez at far as i know wheelbuilding is not so easy. It only costs about R50 to get wheels trued so rather do that than syuff up your wheels if you dont know what u doing. Or u could always go on 1 of JBs courses in wheelbuilding. Check out www.yellowsaddle.co.za
  18. Were they flying past you then??? sorry couldnt resist
  19. Aaaah another lactose intolerant member of the population.
  20. Where u based Ryan?? I'd be happy to give u a hand and we'll even turn it into a learning workshop to teach some of my friends who need a little maintenance skills..but only if u live in CT.
  21. only great service from CRC. Had some issues regarding stuff being sent in 2 parcels and having to pay double customs but CRC refunded me the extra VAT. So how's that for service. And with email correspondence, they've only ever been great with their response, trying anything to sort out the problems....and i've never felt like i've been shafted as with some places locally.
  22. I ride more aggressively and like having 130mm travel at the back and 140mm upfront.I like hopping things too. Hardly do races so went for the Rize. The scalpal was amazing though.Climbed very easily. If i did more races i would have got the scalpal.

    CRC

I had the same problem. picked up the parcel in 2 pieces on 2 seperate days and had to pay double VAT. Emailed CRC and complained. They refunded me the extra VAT. I have since asked then to mail all my stuff together or make out seperate invoices. Great service CRC. BTW, i also receive great service from CWC. Ordered something at 4pm and got it b4 10am the next day. reat communicators.
  24. how tall r u?? how can u ride a large in 1 frame and a small in the other?? seems like u need a frame that fits u.
  25. Riding a Cannondale Rize..the 2009 version of the Rz 140. Thought i would never leave Scott because i loved my genius. Brilliant bike. I rode both the scalpals and rizes at last years Ride b4 u buy. Dont think i'll go back to a different brand. I was so impressed by it i had to get one. The setup i've got on it now is 11.5kgs and that's not very light components, but rather strong. Wheelset is 1900g. Cant rave enough about these.
