  8. What if she were 26 and he 37? Would everyone still be going on about it? Get with it people, most 16 year olds today have been there and done that....
  9. In Robert's first TdF in 2001 he was still riding for Lampre and also got very close to a win but unfortunately failed to finish the tour
  10. Thanks Colonel, very well put...I'm affraid we South Africans have become such a sad pathetic little bunch of people that can only critisize or bad mouth others (maybe that the only time we feel good about our selves). What the heck does it matter if he has a bad attitude, I don't see him running for the Pope's job soon? ....if you don't like the guy so be it, but don't belittle what he does as a cyclist....that undoubably he is brilliant at..... fluit fluit my storie is uit, and yes....shoot me, I'm a big David George fan....
  11. I spoke to Tony Roberts Friday evening and he explained what happend, the confusion was caused because the Traffic Dept screwed up and the traffic cop was not in place at the time the peloton came by at the intersection. When the traffic cop did arrive it was already too late. He was pretty embarrassed as Giro organiser about the whole thing, but he also said that the European riders just laugh at it, cause it happens there more frequently than we know. So not just in Africa
  12. something that stood out for me was the maturity that she actually rode amongst the men, didn't get intimidated at all by their presence....that is gutsy and brave....and the fianl result showed it....
  13. No, she is the QUEEN now....she de-throned the "princess" Well Cherise !! Was also my highlite of today's race !!!
  14. Just have to tell you this little story from last year's Giro. I was sitting next to CSC/CWC feedzone on the Helderberg stage and one of the young riders on that team bailed very early in the race (granted BW was toying with most of the riders anyway), however now he was waiting their for Chris Snr to come and pick him up with the team vehicle, I have never seen anything like that needless to say Chris was NOT happy that this oke just got off his bike and quit the race for no reason....the guy was still trying to explain he is not feeling well and he has no power etc, Chris wanted to hear none of it, no eye contact, no speaking to him nothing, ....and he left the rider there to help in the feedzone for the rest of the stage.... It wasn't a case of ja shame you poor young little thing, the oom understands you not feeling lekker so shame get in the car hope you feel better, oh no....that youngster new he was in BIG trouble, but understandable there is a lot of money and effort going into a Giro team and you don't just quit for no reason.... So I saw that day how kwaai Chris Snr can get a manager..... but this is not a sport for sissies now is it?
