  1. In the same boat as most other guys here. If I ride once a week now it's a lot and it's the only day I don't run. My Pegasus 29s, which have a 12mm heel-toe drop, have clocked up around 1500km now and are being retired for a pair of these, which sport a 9mm drop. I'm taking the transition slow: http://a3.zassets.com/images/z/1/8/7/9/6/2/1879622-p-MULTIVIEW.jpg
  2. What is says on the tin:
  3. MacMaharaj EDIT: I see SwissVan was quicker
  4. Thanks, Grebel, but as a Sharks supporter I've learned the hard way not to celebrate until the final whistle. I thought my picture was maybe 4th at best but fortunately the DH contingent seemed to like it.
  5. Don't tell me you're also planning the dirt jump selfie?
  6. Whoever has their photo picked for the month of May is going to have it tough. So far all of them have been really top quality, the standard has shot up big time.
  7. So just 16 laps of the Cascades XCO course. That's a doddle, half of it is downhill.
  8. Sums up a lot of the problems with the world at the moment.
  9. This is a weird human psychology, I see it all the time in running. I read a friend's status on Facebook where he said he was entering a 10km race and wanted to break 1 hour. Another friend of his told him to get to the race early so he could start at the front. No, dude, if you can only run 10km in an hour then you're a slow moving obstacle for most of the pack. Same at Parkrun, old lady walkers that push to the front and have to be overtaken by everybody in the first 50 metres. Do you think people would subscribe to an honesty system for the unseeded riders? In other words, have a marked grid near the start gate categorised by the time a rider would expect to complete the race?
  10. Callum has the most photogenic style, can't go wrong.
  11. I'm talking for myself and why I would prefer less games. No doubt they're raking in cash. It would be nice to see better attendance at the games though. I'm a Sharks fan but not enjoying their grinding out the win tactics at the moment. Have loved watching the Cheetahs this season, pity about their results.
  12. I also liked Pride of the Nation and the Old Timer Soloist is a great shot, not sure why it doesn't have more votes, it's the best composed photo here if I'm honest.
  13. Sony RX100 Mk II. It's a humble point and shoot but I'm very impressed with it. I need to learn a lot to take full advantage of it, though.
  14. I think it's viewer fatigue. I honestly felt more anticipation and excitement for games, especially when playing overseas teams, when it was the Super 12. I realize they need to keep the tournament fresh and attractive but simply expanding it every couple of years seems unsustainable.
  15. 3 powerhouse teams from each of the SANZAR countries (teams chosen on local competition standings like Currie Cup and can then draft in players from other sides that didn't qualify) and then three teams from Japan/Samoa/Argentina based on whoever wins their local competitions. Less games, higher intensity.
  16. Simple, really. You select Thaba Drift and then two others at random
  17. It would but the chest mount essentially means you're landing with a rock under your sternum EVERY time you fall on your chest. I'm just going to get a chest protector. I need one anyway.
  18. Is that not a bit cumbersome with such a long camera? Have you got a photo?
  19. Nice, objective review. It's a good shape for a helmet cam but unfortunately you won't be able to wear it with a chesty, which I think is one of the more interesting angles for footage on a bike.
  20. Yeah, recent race I was at one of the younger guys looked at me and asked, “Are you wearing a chesty without a chest protector?” and I replied “Yeah, what’s the prob… oh… right” All I could think about for the rest of the run was the camera embedding itself in my sternum.
  21. Two broken vertebrae and a dislocated shoulder. "All fixable" in his own words when he spoke to Steve Peat. Proof that helmets are overrated, you just need knee guards (he knocked himself out when his head hit his knee)
  22. Yeah, I feel a bit sorry for the poor bugger. Apparently he was taking the bike down the outside of the track to the bottom when the crowd started cheering for him to ride it on the track while it was still closed. Peer pressure is bad, kids.
  23. Immediate fencing response as he lay there so he was properly concussed, though I think that's the least of his worries.
