  1. Fantastic start position for SA Riders
  2. Sorry have to go they called my name out now šŸ‘šŸ»
  3. Checking Matts bike for motor
  4. Matt says he’s got this
  5. Damn we sending a rugby team
  6. SA mens team for tomorrow. Difficult for organisers to manage start grid since it’s first World gravel champs. You have riders that have qualified thru the gravel series, road racers with lots of uci points and ex world,CX etc champs. You then have riders who have not qualified or any uci points but are deemed good enough by their respective cycling body to attend (They won the local gravel champs in their country against a bunch of toppies with day jobs so are definitely ready for Worlds.) I think the UCI points system for start grid is fair.
  7. I might be a bit biased because I’m riding a diverge but must say that future shock is next level ,especially the top one that you can open or lock on the fly. Gives more comfort than a epic front shock with a brain.I would definitely lean towards the diverge( even the cheaper one with future shock but ally wheels is brilliant. You are going to be limited on the roubaix and unfortunately the re sale value on the roubaix is TERRIBLE.No one wants them.
  8. Yes and no.I can play football with a bowling ball, but why would I. Lot of the pro riders are riding road bikes aethos, roubaix, crux etc for gravel and yes it can work.Because of tire limit size going to be really uncomfortable. One thing is for sure the bikes WILL NOT LAST.A little birdie told me Matts bike has a crack but because of such a shortage of crux he’s just riding it. If you intend doing gravel just get a gravel bike. You won’t be disappointed. My other bikes mountain and road are just hanging in garage, that’s how hooked gravel is The diverge with heads shock is next level
  9. This is world champs, not just another gravel series. There we’re virtually no WT riders at the gravel series races, here they all are and on form coming out of world road champs. This is going to be next level.Don’t be put off by the minimal altitude. The WT riders are going to make everyone bleed( think Paris Roubaix). As far as gearing is concerned Matt is definitely under prepared. As far as fitness, let’s seešŸ˜€ I am as patriotic as the next saffa but man you got to be realistic.Have we become like the Americans where everyone is a winner šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø
  10. Looks like most of the WT riders are basically riding road bikes with road gearing. Our SA riders on gravel bikes will be seriously under geared( along with the seriously out of depth in fitness levels) against the WT riders. Expect the usual bloodbath. No worries You got this guys,go for the win, bring back the gold and all the others chirps I see on social media. Can they maybe just try finishing?
  11. As well as Sagan.Top 10 at wc for him on that difficult course means he’s got some form. Just so happens I’ll be 30 min away from the start next weekšŸ¤— Might go give boys a shout
  12. And at 38km we’ve already lost all our female cyclists off the back except Ashley. Can CSA please stop sending riders that are not on the level. It’s seriously embarrassing.
  13. Not arguing over mens team with you ,agree guys there have done the time but if you look at woman’s and juniors they have sent some of the choices are unexplainable.
  14. Whether you like Willy or not is irrelevant,he is 100% correct whith the selection process for worlds. The politics behind the scenes are on the same level as our government. Once again (with the exception of Pasio) we send a team that will be utter embarrassment. Some with zero international racing and barely made top 10 at SA nationals but somehow are deemed fit to represent at worlds. My selection for worlds would be simple. 1.You are current SA champion. 2.You currently race overseas at a acceptable level(not club racing). ā€˜That’s it, rant off
  15. As said in previous post ,rich are still rich(or just stupid) Pop round to the start of your next Trailseeker middle distance and check how many youngsters are on the start with 200k s works bikesšŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø
  16. It’s a really really tough situation. My worry is that there is very little between ā€œwork from home twice a week ā€œ and stay at home permanently. At my wife’s work most of the staff that are coming in only a few days a week have been retrenched. The downside of working from home is that someone else can also do your job remotely and perhaps at less pay
  17. A word of advice to those thinking about doing a installation,go with reputable company. My installer is spending 50% of his time at the moment ā€œfixing ā€œother peoples installations.Because there has become a gap in the market (just like when everyone wanted a borehole)hundreds of fly by night guys have cropped up. Most of the fixes he has to do is as a result of guys been sold second hand batteries, only to find in a few days, weeks months they don’t last. Dont be tempted to save a little with the ā€œnew Chinese batteries ā€œGo with what has been proven. Whatever you do DON’T buy from gumtree. Get installer that you can at least get some long term backup .
  18. Running 5.5Kva inverter with 7kw battery storage. my advice would be spend as much as you can afford. It will be the best investment you ever make.Started with 3Kva and gel batteries but the batteries didn’t last a year so when batteries died upgraded everything.
  19. Who’s that?
  20. Take the plunge and get the SL7.It really is an amazing bike.(I had the V3RS before and although been a great bike the relaxed head angle just didn’t work for me.)The SL7 just feels better in every way.
  21. That was shimano first excuse not to warranty. Service intervals are every 3 months on the derailers. ā€˜Mine broke after 2 months. Servicing makes no difference ,they just don’t last
  22. You looking at just the xtr cluster or rear derailleur and shifter as well? just a word if warning.Cluster is brilliant, rear derailers are absolutely sh!t. Dont take my word for it,just Google ā€œshimano xtr derailer clutch problems ā€œ My clutch broke after 2 months ( don’t expect any warranty from shimano SA) xtr is supposed to have a 2 year warranty. just do the research and you’ll change your mind. just my 2c
  23. Was open for a short while over Christmas then closed again.Massive delays and I’ve heard September/October. There is usually people there and stop go even weekends. Dont waste your time.I’ve driven a few times to Wellington lately hoping to ride over and do a slanghoek loop guys there are not interested and won’t let you thru.Had to do botmaskop loop instead. Yes road race on Sunday but you’ll have to use the tunnel which makes the race a bit pricy.
  24. I honestly don’t see Koeberg opening up any time soon.As said before it’s a privilege to ride there.Any maintenance etc could have been done during pandemic. There is currently protests against the extension of the life of koeberg(by a very very small group)and imo this is the reason it is closed and will remain closed indefinitely.Koeberg has been closed before every time the greenies object to something. It’s easier for them just to remain closed to the public than to deal with those loonies constantly. just my 2C.
  25. Is that price of 110k including the axs and power meter as per bike in pic?or am I missing something?
