  1. I wish I could help you. This is a piece of rubish bike. I will offer you R150.00 rand for it if you delete this post before any other person sees it ... I will even fly to Durban and all to collect ... Lovely ride you have there ... look after her, as one of my biggest regrets was selling my old steel Eddy Merckx
  2. Hey share your finding please. In my mind the ideal solution would be the following (Granted I have never used it before, but it makes sense): http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_VY9lef3Ripw/SDvigpikjYI/AAAAAAAAEOY/jJTO_dyBttI/s400/ParagonSlidingDropouts.jpg
  3. Does he make good to any damages to your friends bike as it must have surely taken a tumble?
  4. Then a question for the EBB boys and girls. Is there a marked difference in feel when you adjust your BB in relation to your saddle and seated position ... this should you have to move the EBB all the time to adjust tension should you change the sprocket. H
  5. Been using the DMR non-sprung tensioner, but can't use a SS or rather a BMX chain on there as the roller does not accommodate the width. Is anybody using the FireEye Spur and a SS chain with success? http://www.fireeye-bike.com/upload/product/prod_16015.JPG

  11. The problem lies not with the grip manufacturers, but more with those spades you call hands Try the bar tape option. You get cheap bar tape that will give you an idea if it will work for you or not. Other than that if you can find a good old fashioned shoe maker I wonder if he/she can make you a custom set of grips in leather?

  13. Tried this saddle ... seriously comfy, but was just out of my price range for saddles then.
  14. Nope...my kit costs way less than that, yet has many a thousand km of riding. Some of my best wearing kit has also been sponsored kit Money aside, we are talking about the energy required to manufacture and bring the goods to market. Most of my kit is ex. Velotex and its made on ct...can't say the same for my gen clothes.
  15. Sorry....way off target. Closer to the water front. Come on, what is a thousand and a bit km for a good cup of coffee?
  16. middle guy has a mud guard fitted, they were tough on those SS bikes too!!!!
  17. I tried the Thor, but the junction with my thumb knuckle was not good ... it hurt when flexing the thumb Tried those and they were just too tight for me and I could only find it with mostly white ... not good for dirt. The gloves did seems nice though
  18. Hi All I spent a good bit of time trying to find a replacement set of full finger gloves for MTB riding as the Shift brand I used before with great success, is no longer available in SA as I understand it. There were many a bike shops I visited and many a brand of gloves were tried, but they all fell short on comfort. I like a thin palmed glove as I really hate it when a glove bunches or if there is pressure from gel inserts or any other amazing gizmo the manufacturers are trying to spin. Sticking to basics I found at Track Mac in Paarden Eiland (A Cape Town motorcycle accessory store) a pair of Fly Racing Full Finger Gloves. These just felt right, were light weight and durable where it would need to be, have interesting graphics. Gloves bought. After two rides with the gloves I am convinced I have a new favourite and am looking forward to using them on the 24hrs of Oakvalley coming soon. Price: R219.00 Comfort: A full 5 flaming chillies Durability: looks promising, but will see how they handle daily use and cleaning. This is made for a dirt bike so it should handle falls well! Below is a splurb of the make up of the gloves a pic. LIGHTWEIGHT, THIN & BREATHABLE - this glove is pure race INTEGRATED FOUR-WAY STRETCH TOP PANELS - allow this glove to be ultra-flexible and comfortable DURABLE SINGLE LAYER TEXTURED PALM - offers great feel on the bars and controls BREATHABLE - perforated palm and light, woven back offers great flow-through ventilation EXPANDING LYCRA® STRETCH CUFF SYSTEM - allows for easy entry and helps minimize bulk Regards Hairy
