  1. Ah ok .. now I can place the Hub name to the face ... well done.
  2. this dude? http://www.laughteryoga.org/drkataria/wp-content/uploads/2006/12/israel-125year-old-man-laughing.jpg
  3. And here you assuming that the tyre manufacturers have there branding spot on through various batches to measure alignment?
  4. Don't saw off ... rather drill holes in the frame and components. The bike will also make a great whistling wind noise when riding.
  5. I miss my old Merckx ... should never have sold her!
  6. The HT does take the "sting" out of the trail vs a 26" HT, but a 29'er duallie will most definitely do a better job at sucking up trail chatter and hits, not to mention the comfort over the HT on longer distances.

    Bunny Hop.

I would like to think I can bunny hop like this, but unfortunately I am more a "power" or "j-hop", "whatever" you call a lift the front wheel and use your cleats kind of jumper. It has however worked and has saved my bacon on both the trail and the road before. My most memorable jump was many years ago (Think to when the Trek V frames where the bomb) I came around a corner at majic forest and had to clear a felled tree log or eat gravel.

  10. End of last year that was very nearly the exact same bike combo I would have had!
  11. I have been riding the Kona frame for a little while now and it is a great frame to ride.... my 2c
  12. How about sending a pic with the newspaper of the day .. sort of "hostage stye" pics ... If that fails I am surprised a sworn statement taken by the police would not suffice or even the Brit Embassy stating the same.
  13. What I don't like about the Hub option is that you then have to build up a whole wheel or rebuild your existing wheel and then you also have to use those silly screw on sprockets ... had those sprockets on the old inbred and I must say I did not really enjoy them at all
  14. Thanks for that, but once converted in cost (see below) I could just about get a new inbred frame landed with VAT included.... But then again this converter can be used on any frame ... 285.00 USD = 2,269.76 ZAR US Dollar South African Rand 1 USD = 7.96407 ZAR 1 ZAR = 0.125564 USD
  15. If you want to ride on the road around the block it would suffice. LINK to bike For 2.5K rather buy a second hand hard tail MTB.
  16. Vin Cox to embark on "Hungry Bike Ride" By John Whitney in Bath, UK http://cdn.mos.bikeradar.com/images/news/2012/01/23/1327314124943-16m7oimcdr5up-280-75.jpgCox hit the headlines in 2010 when he cycled round the world in just 163 days (Vin Cox) Vin Cox, the man who up until last week held the world record for the fastest circumnavigation of the globe, has revealed details of his latest challenge – the "Hungry Bike Ride". The March tour, starting at his home in Cornwall, will see Cox cycling around the UK living only on wild, foraged food, without spending a penny or consuming anything he can’t harvest from the hedgerows. After leaving Cornwall, he’ll follow the coast in the South West, cut inland through the Midlands and onto the Lake District and into Scotland. He’ll be in no rush, conceding more time will be spent gathering food than riding. Sticking to lanes, cycle routes, trails and bridleways (“most opportunity to forage”), he’ll be eating leaves and buds of plants like nettles and brambles, trying to find Pignuts and Burdock roots for carbohydrates, and rabbit and pigeon for protein. Limpets and seaweed will be a big part of his diet during the first few days on the coast. He’ll won't be travelling with much equipment either, just a knife, string, elastic, books on wild food, a camera, phone and a bike tool kit. Speaking to BikeRadar about the adventure, Cox said March is a very difficult month to attempt it. “It’s a time of year sometimes known as ‘the hungry gap’ because plants have started to grow but nothing is really ready to eat; no seeds or nuts, no mushrooms, not many leaves, very few roots," he said. “I’m not trying to be tough or ‘survival’ about it really; I intend to enjoy it and I’m just setting up conditions for a challenging adventure where I’ll necessarily be acutely aware of my natural surroundings.” Although the idea started off as low key, he says it’s grown the more he shares it (he’s even had a TV enquiry) and he plans on chronicling the adventure as he did with his round-the-world record attempt. Cox hit the headlines in August 2010 after cycling round the world, unsupported, in just 163 days. He held the record for the next 17 months despite Alan Bate, finishing his attempt just days after Cox, clocking a stunning 96 days, 10 hours and 3 minutes. It took until October 2011 for Bate to submit his evidence to Guinness World Records, who finally ratified his record at the turn of the year. 17. wipe out ... was going nice and fast on the roller coaster type ST nearer to the end and too late I picked up in my peripheral vision a little rock section I thought I could launch off ... not knowing the trail yet ... I also saw a cameraman and thought I would be windgat ... all this happend too soon for me, and as I took off I knew it was a bad idea ... ended up in the side of the "mountain" between a couple of rocks ... good for a laugh though
  18. The only big dissapointment for me, of the whole 24hr, was the bloody Spur van who, just after the finish of the race closed shop and when asked they replied saying "well you had a whole 24 hours to buy food" ..... needless to say I had a very colourfull reply formatting in my over tired brain, but managed to tone this down considerably before opening my mouth. The same can't be said for a lovely lady who looked very tired and hungry who was also looking for food.
