  1. My bike took me to Hopewell and then a stick got stuck between chain and cassette at 20km/h and completely wrecked the new XT RD which snapped off at the hanger. Nice 5km walk back.
  2. I rode my HT for about a year before going DS and it's made the whole experience better for my body and overall enjoyment. I think anyone starting MTB'ing should start on a HT to really appreciate a DS later on. IMO.
  3. LOL same pic twice was to slow to edit out.
  4. My bike took me around the Hopewell 50km yellow route today. There are a few spots like this with no markers and you can see tyre tracks going both ways. They seem to somehow meet up again but still confusing. Still a lekker ride with plenty single track fun.
  5. LOL
  6. I chose the 30something km ride and it was fantastic. Some steep climbs but all in all lovely area for MTB'ing.
  7. Level on my FS but when seated it's nose up slightly. That's how my HT was.
  8. Thanks Marius, I've decided to go with the Flow rims now. Every bit of info and advice I can get is that the Flows are better for me. Waiting for LBS to confirm they can do the swop.
  9. Thanks Flowta, I'm on 29er but doing more research now on this. Arch vs Flow not 29er vs 26er.
  10. Thank you captain, I've been reading more now and this definitely seems a better option for me in the long run.
  11. Ag nee man, now I'm wondering if I should go with the Flow rims instead of Arch. I'm 95kg in full kit. I'm not overly concerned about weight(except my own) but want wheels to last without to much maintenance. I think my LBS will change the Arches for Flows when they build the wheels at month end. Please help me decide hubbers with experience.
  12. Got Arch rims which will be fitted to Novatec hubs at month end. I'm 95kg and was advised to go with Arch. I've done plenty reading/research about this and think I've made a good choice. Now the wait.
  13. Castle Milk Stout Chocolate, this stuff is delicious.
  14. Ok cool, so it's normal, thought I was getting obsessed or something.
  15. Hopewell trails tried the yellow 44km route for first time and it was really a nice workout for me, 3h15m ride with some lovely downhill sections and wicked climbs. This bike is still just such a pleasure going up or down. I leave the shock in trail mode and it seems ideal for me.I think these trails need better markings, quite a few guess and go places.
  16. Right there, most MTB'ers(on 29ers) I've met all spend a fair amount of time/km's on the tar on MTB, myself included.
  17. Enjoy your new ride.
  18. Oh Ok the seller did say someone else was interested. Do you think the price was still ok'ish without the HRM? I thought it was quite a bargain.
  19. Read more on this forum there is plenty of info and ask questions. Do not ask questions about wheel size on a Friday.
  20. Got the Garmin Edge 500 off Gumtree today for R1350, now to figure out how to use it.
  21. From your type of riding I'd say Anthem.
  22. My black bike.
  23. Hopewell trails, did the blue route, this FS bike is just a pleasure to ride, I can stay seated and pedal through rutted sections, very different experience for me and it's just great, can't wait to get back out there somewhere.Saw these big fellas must of been 20 at least. Can't really see them, Blackberry pics not to good.
