  1. This is a lekker one, right in my backyard. If I can manage my work schedule accordingly I'll see you guy's there.
  2. Managed to find some time for a ride again yesterday afternoon. I'm still drawn to climbing as I enjoyed it a lot to suffer up hills in the past, but lugging this extra 15 odd kg's around is making it hard.
  3. Met up with friends for the weekend in Hartenbos, was planning on a ride to go visit @BSG in Grootbrak, but a "lekker" Friday night kuier saw me having little energy to cycle. So I opted for the touristy ride to The Point and back.
  4. This was last week Tuesday up one of our local climbs outside town. In the past I'd never stop on the way up a climb, but now the past is in the past and I just don't have the steam anymore (yet). Edit: Skuus Bennie, daar quote ek jou in verkeerde post.
  5. You are welcome anytime my friend. [emoji1690]
  6. Been a while since I've last posted here. Life has kept me busy and off the bike. Let's hope this is a comeback. I've learnt that a good way to get motivated is to sign up for an event and so I'm trying to get some game back for the CTCT. Did a solo slow 70km ride this morning. From Worcester to Rawsonville via Louwshoek, from Rawsonville through the Slanghoek Valley and back to Worcester on the R43 (Ceres pad). Boy did it hurt!
  7. Howzit guy's, haven't been on the bike much this year....new work with loads of responsibilities. Only doing the odd ride every other week and stress eating has seen me gain 10 kg's. Hoping to turn things around soon.
  8. I was up early with good intentions but when I realized what kinda coldnes was waiting outside I chickened out. Did at least go for a nice hike a bit later. In the afternoon I saw/made a gap and slipped out for a ride. The air was still quite cold but if you stayed in the sun it wasn't so bad.
  9. Sh@t thats beautiful! [emoji108]It's a crisp cool sunny morning after the cold front has past here and perfect weather for riding......but nooo.....we must mos go to school sports......[emoji37]
  10. Did a short ride with the family and the doggies on Sunday morning.
  11. No work Saturday meant biking of course. We were going to do something flat but the wind pushed us into the hills where we did some windless climbing. Visited two locally famous climbs and saw from the second one that the local farmers market was open so we headed down there for a coffee and a bite to eat before heading home.
  12. Should've taken selfies with them folks, worth more than any picture taken with a TV celebrity.
  13. Lekker one tonight. Must admit I've dug a pretty deep hole for myself and it's gonna take a lot of hard work to get out of it.
  14. As I'm still struggling with a cold there was no propper riding this weekend, but I decided to take the dogs for some exercise in the hopes to get them stimulated and cause less trouble around the house. It kinda worked, but will have to see what the yard looks like in the morning to be sure.
  15. The weather was not nice last Saturday but I got so bored in the afternoon I took a chance between showers to go for a ride. Came home wet and had a bit of a wrough feverish night realizing once again it's not a great idea to go riding when you haven't quite shaken the cold/flu completely.
  16. Had a gap this afternoon and instead of taking nap I decided to go for a ride.
  17. Something like that yes![emoji1]
  18. Mate of my had a GSXR 250, long gears, loud pipe, sounded like a F1 car coming in the distance.
  19. Have been looking at them aswell and I must say they're growing on me. I suspect there might not be many second hand options available in my price range when I'm ready to buy though. They remind me alot of my XJR I had, wasn't a Yammie fan, but this bike planted some Yammie roots in me.[emoji16]
  20. She has the BMW F650GS Dakar in mind but I'm slowly trying to sway her towards a Suzuki DR650. Strong, reliable and low on maintenance.
  21. Did a relaxed Worcester - Rawsonville loop this morning going out on Nekkies road and coming back in to town on the railway service road via Goudini station. Was shocked when I uploaded my ride to Strava and realized my last ride was on the 14th. That means that I've gone beyond "weekend warrior" and I'm now more of a "fortnight warrior".[emoji16]
  22. If only it were possible, she also wants a mid sized dual to go riding with me so the SRAD has to be sold towards that. But I've made peace with it, as they say happy wife happy life. [emoji848] I'll give her what she wants now then I can get what I want in a couple of years. [emoji57]
  23. Thanks, I always wanted to get it back to original and finally found a donor bike for a good price. A 600 SRAD with a blown motor but with all the cosmetics intact. I still have to do some engine and body work before I can sell it but like I said I've started rethinking this as I'd really enjoy a naked now, I've grown out of sportsbike's. But with me having baught the DR the wife is adamant that I can't have two now, so ons must go and I'm really enjoying the DR at the moment.
  24. I'm not big but big-ish and my SRAD 750 is a comfortable fit, not sure how big newer 750 models are but I sat on BMW s1000r recently, the naked model, and that felt really good, not a beemer fan though. To be honest I've been considering converting my SRAD back to streetfighter as I had it a few years back before buying a donor bike to restore it but the wife says NO it has to go![emoji53]
  25. Will do when the time is right, if I go at it now it might cost me my marriage. [emoji16]
