  1. Hi there and welcome J_W_D , your definition describes Bikehub perfectly, entertaining and informative, especially on Friday's as you should know. [emoji6]
  2. Hi and welcome Gerrie, nothing wrong with a 26er GT Avalanche HT, I also stil have one, as long as you enjoy riding it![emoji1690]
  3. Thanks for the off, I see MR Price sport have some in kids sizes so I'll go get one from them for now.
  4. You missed me by a week then, I stopped working at Kings Cycle the previous Saturday, a week before the event last year. This event last year was my first free Saturday after leaving Kings. Couldn't think of a better way to spend my first Saturday of in over 2years than doing an event and enjoying the vibe afterwards with my family.
  5. You going to be on the other side of the pond again Dave? You must give the 30km a go some day, it truly is an propper mtb event, the amount of elevation and level of technicality makes it one to be reckoned with.
  6. Hadn't considered it, Juan's biggest ride to date has been about 8km's but I think he might make it if we take it easy.Going to get him a padded cycling short and try a bigger ride this coming weekend and see how it goes.
  7. Thanks for the suggestion Milky, but much like Skubarra says, this little guy has been nagging me for months, "wanneer begin die races weer?", so leaving him behind while I go ride will mean a veeeery k@k old age home one day......
  8. Ag v@k! Having just spoken to the wife she informed me that she will be working that weekend, which means I'm on parental duty and as a result will most likely be doing the 5km with my boy.[emoji848]
  9. Did the 30km last year and there are quite a few single track sections. Can also vouch for the difficulty factor on the 30km, it's pretty hard for that distance. I'm very unfit at the moment aswell but I'm also a sucker for pain so planning on giving the 60km a go this year if all goes well.
  10. Hi there and welcome Wian, like I always say "start them young".Its good to have a dream like yours, as long as you realise you have to work hard to reach it, it won't just come to you if you sit back and wait. All the best and never forget to have fun along the way.[emoji1690]
  11. Did a lekker loop with a work colleague yesterday. We were up and at it at the crack of dawn.
  12. Took my boy to do some open road riding yesterday. Did the first few km's on the back with him to show him where to ride and at what speed and he then rode for about 24km on his own pushing it up to 60kp/h at times. I must admit I got a bit worked up.
  13. Or next time you can just twist the spoke around the one next to it.
  17. Let me be first to drop a few CTCT pics. As with all things in life if you come unprepared you will have to pay the consequences. Chappies broke me this time round....
  18. Well ****, that's a scary one, glad to hear you guy's are okay for the most part. Hope you heal up soon hey and glad to hear the hips aren't damaged......you know how troublesome the hips are at your age.. ...[emoji12]
  19. I like to think of myself as a fairly seasoned cyclist (of 5years) and feel that I've moved past all the sales bullsh@t, marketing hype and industry trends......but when you're susceptible your susceptible....... so I find gravel bikes moerse appealing, I still think fatbikes look like a helluva lot of fun and once a year when Argus season comes round roadie fever hits.......
  20. Nothing like a lekker bike ride to get your head straight after a hectic day at work.
  21. This looks helluva promising. [emoji2][emoji106]
  22. Yes they do....yes they do..... And also when you ride b@tch shut up and hang on[emoji6]
  23. V@k maar daar staan n paar mooi sitkamer matte agter daai draad.[emoji6]
  24. Told him this morning to tilt his helmet forward as somebody on the internet says it looks silly and he told me that it's a road helmet and that its gonna look silly no matter how you tilt it..... Guess that was also a hint at a new helmet, a more trail oriented one like his dad's.
