  1. Braggat![emoji12] What a beauty mate, I would be able to behave on a monster like that![emoji1690]
  2. But do you have blisters on the soles of your feet.........[emoji12]
  3. With time comes wisdom and you learn when it's worth it and when not......
  4. Did about 4km this morning and decided to throw in the towel. Spent the whole week on ladders at work that left me with small blisters on the soles of my feet in the exact place where the contact patch of the cleat is. Will see if I have a pair of flats to fit and try a tekkie ride tomorrow.
  5. Goes to show that not all of humanity is hopeless yet.[emoji1690]
  6. I baught my lights at a moerse discount a couple of years ago when they changed agents (I think) and the previous guy's sold their remaining stock at ridiculous prices, so I kinda saw them as disposable.
  7. Looks like we're gonna have to draw straws for that job.....[emoji6]
  8. Those lights are excellent, they give great visibility even in daylight and as they are rechargeable you don't have the hassle of halving to buy batteries all the time. Unfortunately the silicone straps don't last that long though. I've got two of the longer one's like yours and two of the square ones all still working perfectly but straps broken.
  9. Woke up at 5:30 this morning with the wind howling outside and decided f@ck it. Got a message around 9am from a buddy asking if I already went out for a ride or still planning one as his keen to go riding. Think this was karma telling me I need to do something before the funride world champ's. Kobus wanted to go big or go home so we headed up to Stettyn Dam. The wind was absolutely horrible, we had a headwind for half the ride to the kloof and then halfway up the kloof the wind was back on full form from the front again. Kobus conceded early on that he didn't think he was fit enough for the ride and ended up wheel sucking for about 60% of the ride. Eventually he asked me if I could call my wife to come pick us up with the bakkie as he was totally knackered and we still had 20km's to go. Still a fun day out and even under the conditions I enjoyed it, especially having some company for the first time in a while.
  10. That is beautiful, I'm planning on building something later this year towards next year, but stuck between a caferacer/brat bike, similar to this, or a hooligan streetfighter. Best to sleep over such an decision.....[emoji848]
  11. That's the problem, with all these great views I tend to go further and harder than I should to admire them.[emoji28]
  12. My XTC knows where all the good views are at.....[emoji12]
  13. Hit the road a bit late this morning on account of home responsibilities. As per usual these days I set out without much of a route planned and just rode where the wind and the view's took me.
  14. I regard those KLR's in the same light as my DR and my Giant XTC, not necessarily the best tool for most jobs but a throw anything at it go anywhere tractor.[emoji123][emoji1690] Hoping to also see Swartberg on my DR in 2019, absolutely beautiful and unique ride.[emoji108]
  15. Ai Bennie, dit is nou n gatslag! Hoop jy geneus sommer gou, sterkte. [emoji106]
  16. Lekker man, been here all day since 8am. Weather is still beautiful. [emoji108]
  17. Set out this afternoon with good intentions. After about 5km of riding into a headwind I started feeling not so good and not long before I realized something was wrong.....the CTCT training is going to take a knock.....this was supposed to be the start.[emoji848][emoji5] Managed to take one pic before I "my ass fell out".
  18. Sounds like you're becoming a hoarder! Get a grip on yourself mate! [emoji6]
  19. Also saw this posted on the WD forum. Lekker bike, would look even lekkerder with a set of ape hangers.[emoji106]
  20. Saw the add for those classics on Facebook(I think). Couple of gems in there .
  21. Look, I know a lot of guy's don't like Harley's and although I'll probably never buy one I do find myself contemplating them every so often.Real beauty you have there Maxxis. [emoji108][emoji1690]
  22. Giant have always claimed that their Meastro suspension system does not need a lockout, if the shock is correctly inflated you are not suppose to suffer from pedalbob and therefore don't need a lockout. Not sure on how the suspension is supposed to perform on a climb though and I haven't really spent enough time on a duall-sus to speak out of experience.
  23. They have the Rotax motor yes and from what I understand they are pretty much bulletproof, if known issues are addressed before they become issues. For some reason I just don't like them. I bought my DR600 because I wanted something that I can cover wrough terrain with like a weekend enduro type ride but can also ride the 100km to the event. The Dakar doesn't fit the bill in my opinion. Then again my wife isn't going to be doing the wrough stuff but probably more dirt highway with maybe a bit of jeeptrack so I guess the Dakkie should be fine for her. I'll probably eventually give in, you know what they say, "happy wife happy life", but I'm not going to go down without a fight. I'm pretty sure once my DR is running again and I start teaching her to ride with gears on it she'll start coming around.
  24. Fortunately my wife is a big girl(tall) and I'm sure she'll manage the weight. I'm just not a van of thd Dakar, but in the end it's her decision. I'll tell her I'll put R20k down for a bike(you can get DR's and KLE's for this) if she want's a Dakar she can add the rest but I do no work or maintenance on the bike it's going to be her baby(Dakkie).
  25. My wife wants a Dakar but I've been trying to get her to change her mind to either a DR650 or one of these KLE 500's. They are very nice smaller dual purpose bikes.
