  1. Riding in the dark is only fun till it gets cold.... Fortunately the days are slowly getting longer.☺ Sent from my SM-J111F using Tapatalk
  2. It is definitely something to get use to, but clipping out becomes second nature eventually , usually after a few funny falls [emoji85] . Good luck with it.[emoji106] Sent from my SM-J111F using Tapatalk
  3. Hi Eddy, funny thing, I've tried out flats before and felt completely detached from the bike, I on the other habd will be sticking to clips. Sent from my SM-J111F using Tapatalk
  4. I agree with Bosbrommer, the Vittoria Barzo/Saguaro combo is my favourite aswell. Very good grip, low rolling resistance and you get good milage on them. I'm currently running a Schwalbe Rocket Ron on the front and I'm quite impressed with the grip, but I will be going back to Barzo when the Ron is worn out. Sent from my SM-J111F using Tapatalk
  5. Not kind of, not sort of, exactly the right thread to post my bike on![emoji6] Sent from my SM-J111F using Tapatalk
  6. Did a bit of dirt roadie riding with a pinch of jeep track today. Enjoyed some sublime weather with views for days.[emoji108] Sent from my SM-J111F using Tapatalk
  7. No problem dude. Dont throw away that Ikon 2.2 yet though , plenty of guys have finished stuff like the Epic on those. They might not exactly be great for downhill , but thats not what your doing. Sent from my SM-J111F using Tapatalk
  8. I'm with Myles on this one, I know for a fact the Ardent 2.4 fits in the fork that comes on the Scale and it has bigger knobs than the Ardent Race.It is at the back that the problem lies, the Scale frame does not allow for a wide tyre to fit in the rear. Sent from my SM-J111F using Tapatalk
  9. Hi Andrew, sounds like you might be a little over inflated, I run about the same tyre presures and I weight about 95kg, not on Icons thought.I know of lighter riders who even run their pressure as low as 1.2bar. I would suggest you start experimenting with dropping your pressure by 0.2bar at time to see if it improves your grip. You can also try wider on the front, something like the Maxxis Icon 2.35 wich will keep rolling resistance low or go to a grippier tread like the Maxxis Ardent, the Vittoria Barzo (personal favourite), or Schwalbe Rocket Ron. But first experiment with pressures before throwing money at the problem. Sent from my SM-J111F using Tapatalk
  10. Die trails waarvan jy praat is flippen awesome en damn mooi, veral die gedeelte by die dam.[emoji108] Sent from my SM-J111F using Tapatalk
  11. Hi Bennie, not luminous, but an extremely bright orange. They come stock on some of the Scott bikes. Sent from my SM-J111F using Tapatalk
  12. Met up with a fellow hubber in Gansbay over the weekend and went riding on some of his usual routes round Baardskeerdersbos . This is a beautifull area to ride in, if you know where to go.Thanks Suidwes Boytjie for showing me around, always great to meet fellow hubbers. Sent from my SM-J111F using Tapatalk
  13. Not from today, but from Friday night. The colder weather lately has been screwing with my training and with the climbing challenge on Strava I've had to start putting in more climbing in shorter rides to try and catch up. Also can't remember when last I rode a bike in daylight , other than my commute home. Will be at it again tomorrow , climbing in the dark. Sent from my SM-J111F using Tapatalk
  14. Hi Bennie, have you had a look at options from SR Suntour? They are much cheaper than the bigger names and ain't bad at all. Sent from my Vodacom Power Tab 10 using Tapatalk
  15. Saw your pic on Twitter aswell and almost thought you hadn't turned it back to SS mode after 3 Towers last year. [emoji6] Sent from my SM-J111F using Tapatalk
  16. Came home from work and asked my son where he wanted to go with the dogs? "Bos toe" was his reply. Its a open piece of field behind our suburb with a few trails around and through it and one of his favorite riding spots. So of to the bos we went. Before we left he went to his room to put on shoes and came out wearing these socks.......think he might turn roadie some time. Sent from my Vodacom Power Tab 10 using Tapatalk
  17. Feel guilty posting my IG name here as everyone will see I've been spending more time on IG than here . @ebenreaper Sent from my SM-J111F using Tapatalk
  18. I love riding in the evenings after dark.....then there's no one around to see how I suffer. And also no one to discriminate against my sock length. This ones especially for you Ossie NL .[emoji6] Sent from my SM-J111F using Tapatalk
  19. I guess I'll just go rogue on the whole sock rule.....wont be the first time I disregard authority..... Sent from my SM-J111F using Tapatalk
  20. I'm a MTBer, not a roadie, as far as I know we have no rules, let alone sock fashion ones. Will post a pic of my supper short secret socks tomorrow especially for you. Sent from my SM-J111F using Tapatalk
  21. Hi gwhite ,this model has unfortunately been discontinued as far as I know , these were the last pair of old stock at my Lbs. Sent from my SM-J111F using Tapatalk
  22. Broke in my new pair of shoes today. Got these for the more social rides where there might be some walking and standing around involved. Sent from my SM-J111F using Tapatalk
  23. Did a mtb-roadie/dirt-roadie ride today ,partly solo, partly with some mates. The solo tar section were boring AF , but once I met up with the others we had lots of fun and lots of laughs on the dirt. And the view of Stettyn Dam is always worth the suffering to get there. Sent from my SM-J111F using Tapatalk
  24. Those are real nice grips ,they'd be my second choice after ESI's. Sent from my Vodacom Power Tab 10 using Tapatalk
  25. No serious riding yesterday, just playing around a bit on the bike in Hermanus. And then this morning I rode to the top of the campsite to capture the sunrise.
