  1. Thats a pity, I'm looking out my front door towards Rawsonville /Slanghoek and see only clear skies with no wind this morning. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  2. Was this yesterday or this morning? If this morning you guys picked a perfect weather day for a ride out this way. [emoji108] Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  3. Lekker 'Dale, I feel a bit ashamed, I live in Worcester about 25km from Du Toitskloof, but in my almost 3 years of cycling haven't been up the pass yet. I am however planning a trip from Worcester to Wellington via Bainskloof, from Wellington to Paarl and then from Paarl back to Worcester over Du Toitskloof in the near future. 4. Wonder what the pricing will be like on the Koryak dropper? Its probably just coincidence, but Pro seems to know what my idea of bling for my bike is with the Koryak range. [emoji108] Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  5. Went out Monday evening for a bit of climbing around the mountain tracks. Its so nice and quiet at night. To be fair, its actually always nice and quiet around here. Yesterday I decided to give my legs a brake and went for a flat run on the outskirts of our town. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  6. Good looking goggles Myles! [emoji108] Do they fall in the "marginal gains ' category? Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  7. Hi Dan, this is all within a 15 - 20 km radius around Worcester. There's alot of other nice places to ride in the area aswell. De Doorns also has 2 nice places to ride, but unfortunately it will require quite alot of climbing. If you go to Kleinmond you have a bucketload of options within a 75km radius. Let me know closer to your visit, maybe we can meet up and I can show you around. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  8. Something like this? Since none of my usual riding partners wanted to join me this morning I had to ride and suffer alone. In the spirit of Rule #5 I decided to HTFU and upped the pace a little since my fitness level ain't where its suppose to be. Went out past Brandvlei Dam on a old unused road that use to be part of the R43. Saw the potential in the view and if you use some imagination this almost looks like a Chappie's pic. A few km's further I crossed the Breederiver on the current R43. My ride took me on a mix of tar roads district roads and across a few farms. Got caught up in some rush hour bumper to bumper traffic on one of the farms. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  9. WTF Tapatalk! This app works better for me than the mobile sit, but it gives so much k@k!Now I have to retipe my whole post! Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  10. Eagle is suppose to solve the problem of loss of either top end speed or bottom end power on a 1x system, whether that is the case only time will tell. Edit:spelling Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  11. The difference really is so little between the XTR and Guide brakes that it truly does come down to personal preference, so any opinion given here will most likely be based on wich one the poster is biased to. I can however tell you IMHO that the Magura's are not an option, the Shimano's and Avid's are in a different league. The profile of the levers on these two also have a better feel on the fingers than the Magura's.(if that makes sense to you) I would lean towards the Shimano's, but only cause I'm a Shimano fan. If I were given a set of the Avids I wouldn't necessarily not use them, unless someone was willing to trade them with me for Shimano's. [emoji6] Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  12. Thats one hell of a sweet looking ride you got there, gongrats Wayne. Just be weary, a bike like that could tempt a bloke to go full roadie...... never go full roadie....... [emoji185] Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  13. Saw this groupset being fitted to a bike at my Lbs today. Must say it looks quite the part in the flesh. It gives a real clean look to the bike as all 1 × systems do, and the Gold cassette and chain looks awesome. Even though the top and bottom gear supposedly gives you the same range as a 2 x10 system I think it will have gaps between gears somewhere as mentioned by someone else previously. On the weigh saving front it ain't so big either, the bike was equipped with older XTR 3×10 and by moving to the 1×12 XX1 Eagle managed to lose only about 200 grams. IMHO this groupset is not suitable for everyone, I would stick with 2×10 or move to 2×11 for marathon riding.I think this system will be more suitable for trail or XC type riding. 14. Some say he rides only at night without a light for the sake of keeping his identity a mystery. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  15. I've seen one of these cheap coil/oil forks once that was completely knackered. If you picked up the front of the bike the stanchions and internals came up with the bike while the lowers stayed behind on the ground with the wheel. Can only think that it might be the case here aswell and that wtf ever is going on there is te fix. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  16. Since we've been blessed with slightly warmer weather this past week, I finally decided to get my fat ass of the couch and start riding in the evenings again. Did a fair amount off climbing again tonight albeit at a very slow pace. Thought my lungs wrre going to pop, but eventually made it up to "Die Windpompie" in time for this stunning view. 17. This is just one of the many reasons I love country life. Took this pic on my ride this evening. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  18. We are apparently such a small minority, we can't be fussy, have to grab what we can get....... I'll just have to drill a hole somewhere in the frame. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  19. I'm led to believe that this might be the legend himself. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  20. You guys are waaaaay wrong! Everybody (and Hairy) knows red bikes are the fastest! [emoji48] Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  21. The tower of death! If I'm not mistaken that is the tower where the last waterpoint for the 45km route of the Funky Fynbos usually is. Was nearly dead last time I saw that tower......... Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  22. Another one from the yesterday. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
  23. Went out for some trail walking with the family yesterday, made it back home just in time as the rain came rolling over the mountains. Sent from my S40 using Tapatalk
