  1. Kona, add Edenvale Pedallers as well. Blatently skipping red traffic lights
  2. I have mailed the security company the link and a copy. No answer and I don't think I should hold my breath for one either!
  3. Mervin, here goes. Jelly started training me at the end July 2007. (times are not to the second ok) Lost City 3:20 (2006) 2:59 (2007) R4V 2006 - Not ridden as I was scared of the climbing, 2007, finished 94.7 - 2006 3:50 2007 3:07 Fast One - 2006 4 hour something, 2007 2:52
  4. scotty, I mailed them, but guess what, the mail addresses don't exists!!!!
  5. The 8 week one was based in Jhb, not on the web. The other 2, yes. I'm in constant contact with Jelly via mail, etc.
  6. As you know I've been maoning and groaning about the way the security companies vehicles drive around Jhb recently. On the way out to meet Delgado this morning I once again, like every morning, had a run in with Khulani Springbok and Chubb (so what's new, it happens every morning). Speeding, trying to clip me with the vehicle's mirror, SOS. While out riding we did hear sirens, etc going ballistic. On my way back home I found my "friends" from Khulani, hurt in an accident, with the bakkie on it's roof (Boeing Rd at Gillooleys Farm). Clearly the driver was speeding, as always and had overturned the bakkie. Hopefully no one lost their lives in this one. Moral of my long story, I hope the bosses at the security companies wake up and realise that their drivers are: (1) a denger to themselves and the lives entrusted to them and (2) they are going to kill a cyclist at some stage.ewep2008-01-29 00:55:23
  7. Cyclenut, I would rather take the highway than that road!!! When the sister still worked at Kopanong Hospital that strech of road (Vereeniging to Walkerville) was called the weekend death stretch. No ways!!!
  8. PokerFace, this one is my experience. I read quite a few books (Joe Friel's Cyclists Bible, Training with Power, even CC and Lances book) but my performance never improved. I then tried a local (GP coach). The guy gave me a 8 week program, but this backfired on the day that I got the flu & bronchitis. He didn't make a change and I lost 2 weeks of training. Now 14 days donesn't sound like a lot, but you're not fully recovered when getting back on the bike, so total stuff up! I then contacted another online coach. I was very unfit, but I was given intervals that made me so sick I nearly gave up cycling (L4 and L5 if I'm not mistaken!) I then contacted Jelly Tot and have not been sorry since. Went down just on 50 mins in the 94.7. I have done 2 sub 3's, one quite easily on Sunday. And I feel good on the bike. So what I'm trying to say, read up, see coaches, until you get someone that gets the job done LIKE YOU WANT IT. Then just stick it out! Lastly, if a coach says, and I quote "Jy gaan 'n bietjie werk die week" get ready to bleed, BIG TIME!ewep2008-01-29 00:17:33
  9. Happens to CC as well!
  10. Sabre, you are not going to stop that. Widget posted about some guys on the R59 a while ago, JRA. There are alternatives though, but these riders will only wake up when someone has been hit by a truck! NP Ian. Hope you enjoyed the ride. The road can be a bit of a b|tch if the wind is on. I usually ride this road when going to/coming from Vanderbijl and I've never had any problems.

    Only in SA

Does this then mean that in 5 years time I can start murdering people as AA is denying me the basic human right of equal oppurtunity (sp???)? Nope it does not. What about being fair and giving everyone a chance in the NEW SA? We keep on hammering on the new, but nothing has changed, just a change in the guard....

EM, on one hand I do agree, but on the other, some of the "powers that be" have a general corrupt state of mind. I can bet you if the people that SP posted about gave the Metro cops a few R1000 the lady would've been off.

Metro motto should read "To supress and enslave"

  18. Don't worry, same story in Jhb!!! Joined a group and these okes had the audacity to show the cars they should stop and wait for the group, although the lights were green for the cars!!!
