  1. Think Mclean was just trying to branch out his business.
  2. Eish, thats bad luck...or as we should say in SA - thats Monday. Glad you weren't hurt!
  3. Bruce Reyneke in Pretoria also had 20" presta valve tubes in stock (doesnt help the CP oke, I know). PM Rad006 for OKO. First time I was covered with slime and seriously annoyed, after a couple of times you get the hang of it and never look back. Never had a puncture in a race in 1.5years.
  4. Stans complete kit, around R1k, Id rather pay the R30 bucks a bmx tube and DI-myself! OKO slime also works wonders, much thicker, plus ammonia issues with Stans stuffing up tyres, something to consider.
  5. I can just see you going from lekker cycling to kicking and screaming on the tar, eyes burning, roasties everywhere and the dog chewing on your legs. Important tip
  6. See the not-so-fast-honey-insect gets it.
  7. It pains me HR, but what to do, for instance this week alone with kids (9 months and 5 years) and by the time they're in bed and things have settled its 8:30-9pm. Cant ride at night in Witbank, i'll get slaughtered.
  8. So I have to get the km done, and daylight is screwing me, but dont want to spend a fortune because the minute it becomes light enough Im back out there in the mornings... You can get the Giant IDTs at Sportsmans (MagII) or something, anybody have any problems with them? Any advice? Thanks folks!
  9. My faith in humanity has been tested the last couple of months, seems more and more the attitude of 'cant beat them - join them' is taking over. Good stuff cbrunsdon!!
  10. Good stuff dude, was "Sannie" the guilty one? dont take her crap!!
  11. I get the issue with trust involved at our security complex. Everytime they make some decision and I ask why we (I) was not informed they say my email adress doesnt work, but every end of the month they manage to email my statement to me....WTF?
  12. Frustrating MJ. Must say I've had only pleasent experiences with online/email ordering. From CRC to PlanetX have had no problems. Hope it gets sorted soon.
  13. You also came along to play' date=' didn't you ? [/quote'] Thanks for proving my point. But yes I did. Love playing, especially in mud, which is why I ride mtb and became a geologist...not to be confused with a gynecologist...which is a different type of playing all together.
  14. Firstly I don't see 20 pages of mud slinging Secondly, read my response to Slowbee, you might then understand my reaction. Thirdly if the wish is as such I will make sure that I do tear in to someone in the future. Then finally if your brain shock doesn't work as you claim, then rather contact the agents instead of humorously trying to tell us about the problem. Starting to feel a bit playground-like. And my comment regarding shock not working was entirely humorous, (even though it might have been quite gentle comedy), as my shock does not have a brain. It would have depressed me to have a bike with a higher IQ than myself.
  15. Yes, were any of the rats cloned in Gauteng cuz my shock only works 3 days every two weeks and then goes on strike?
  16. I took the Bull Run at Sabie in Feb and ended up with a mouth full of pine needles, and shouts/laughter from the back. It was awesome.
  17. MJ is just bored and frustrated on this Friday, but in seriousnessiless, you know it does happen due to half/full marathons splitting and joining and this super awesome starting groups in some of the races, and then not refering to 'dikgats' this happens with the ladies a lot, they climb like well oiled machines, but we end up cathing them on the singletrack...at least in that case we have something to look at while we're stuck back there.
  18. Hahaha, post of the day!
  19. Oh and ignore all the "go and ride on the road" comments. We all started somewhere. I started in Jan09, and I included technical bits in as many training sessions as I could every week, and over time became more comfortable without noticing much improvement. Did Sabie Classic's 75km this year and then only realised how far I came when I blasted past the newbs down the downhills in the last ~10km where we joined up with the half marathon. It was a great feeling. Now I feel the same as these other tjops, the more technical the better.
  20. Just glanced through the pages so apologies if Im repeating anything. Don't feel any of the races should be changed, thats what makes the sport awesome, the uniqueness of each race, whether the half/full/ultra. Instead ask around and try easy to mid level races before jumping into something you might end up not enjoying. A good rule of thumb (does not work always), have a look at the avg speed of the previous winner - >30km/h - Flat/easy (eg Babbas) 27 - 30 km/h - Fast race, very doable (eg Blockhouse) 24 - 26km/h - Can get technical, could be hilly (eg Induna) 21- 24km/h - Very tough, expect a good climb (eg Higveld race) <21km/h - Expect to bleed out of every orifice (eg Magalies) Enjoy!
