  1. Had a brilliant start to the week, racked up a decent 420 TSS by Friday afternoon with a IF of 0.85 gearing up for a proper week and BAM! ... cold. Man down all weekend. So have my fatigue levels nowhere near where it should be to build towards good supercomp sessions. On the positive, luckily my income does not depend on cycling so I just have to suck it up and stick to the plan. Snot-free week to you all!
  2. +1 on the stop start. NP calcs reduces the impact of non-pedaling time in your ride, so you get to rest and recover, but weighted on the distance traveled, it doesn't reduce as much as avg power. Also how long was the ride? With stop start rests if you did a 1hr ride at 0.89 IF it might have felt relatively easy, but if your ride was +2hrs then yes your FTP might be too low
  3. See you can order directly from their site now, $65 shipping anywhere in the world. Go fit it
  4. Yep, that's where I bought mine
  5. I bought the 2013 Carbon 3 and did a few upgrades, first thing was to go to Crests so if you can do that from the start go for it! Echoing the comments regarding the lefty. I went from a SID Ti 100mm to the PBR 90mm and I can't believe the difference! That left it just amazing from absorbing vibration to taking big knocks. Honestly see if you can take a F29 for a test ride, maybe via Bruce's in PTA, but get your credit card ready when you come back.......
  6. Mid week bug had be out for quite a bit, but managed some tiny miles over the weekend. TSS 362 IF 0.78
  7. Life is short love, forgive, ride
  8. Definitely +1 on those but - Optimal cadence is a function of mass as well, bigger legs will not spin as efficiently as smaller legs. So although there is a longer term benefit to riding at higher cadence, the upper limit of that is rider dependent. I've looked at my and my team-mate's power data, where I can sit forever on 90-92rpm he climbs more comfortably at 83-85rpm.
  9. EDIT: Sorry reading like my arse True story
  10. Solid week, 736TSS at 0.82 IF Legs feeling it.
  11. Its all relative As you said the maths are correct, the watts is based on your rates of ascent, normalized rolling resistance and total weight. So on a perfect day up a smooth (road) climb it gets close, but there are variables strava cannot account for - Wind Variable rolling resistance Technical obstacles So under the same conditions, it can be an indication, but don't bargain on it.
  12. That happens, you can just do the altitude correction on strava, sorts it out
  13. She always does
  14. TSS 472, IF 0.9 Shorter hard rides last week.
  15. Puked in my mouth a little bit after reading that thanks No, with after hours studies I manage around 10-11hrs a week, so have to make them quality.
  16. Mal mal. With work and studies I struggle to get above 700TSS a week at the moment. So big up dude
  17. Solid week 658TSS @ 0.82 IF
  18. Last week, 650TSS with a comfy IF of 0.80 Had the best ride this morning, on study break but had to drop the car for a service, so stuck the bike in the back and took a ride home....... ......I might have accidentally stopped in at bike park for some singletrack!!
  19. Going on the Joe Friel advice, you should aim to reduce your CTL about 10% from the peak to the day before the race (so if you peak at 75 then reduce your training load systematically to hit 67.5 before raceday) Then also try and get your form positive about a week before the event and around 20 on the day before the race.
  20. That is a lot of TSS's for a 'funrider'... nicely done! Consistency is the thing hey
  21. Thanks dudes. It was not a pleasant start I tell you, thermals helped a lot, but my (double layer) gloves just couldn't deal with the cold. But managed a decent ride nonetheless.
  22. Moderate to good week - 590TSS / IF 0.79. Saturday's ride started at -4 degC!
  23. Depends on what your target fitness level is - From what I've seen at 60 CTL you need above 450TSS a week to increasing you fitness levels, at 80 CTL that increases to above 600TSS a week.
  24. Did that just say "WTB Chair" ????????????
  25. Yes thats it, think it was the same vid. Excellent, I'll let you know should I find anything out
