  1. To Ian, Andrew, Giovanni and Mark thanks for trying to sort this out with CR and others. I bet this behaviour isnt limited to the cradle. CR - I imagine there are other just as important/more NB issues in your area, that needs as much attention and awareness. Fortunately the cyclists have clubs and forums like this that makes it easy to pinpoint, or slant us. Your other problems might be slightly more difficult to solve. Good luck, and I hope the cycling problem is one that you can tick of your list pretty soon. To the hubbers who try and justify this behaviour - shame - you must be very unhappy individuals, and I can imagine what else you will justify. To the hubbers - who like me - detest this behaviour - lets all work together in educating each other in a manner which is positive. That way we might even get through to each other at some stage - before its too late. But lets also not play angel and pretend as if we never brake any rules or run a orange or red light, or not stop at an intersection etc.

  4. Sounds as if its a step in the right direction. Can only be better than what it is at the moment. Hopefully it will be 1 system that is used nationally, and not same old same old where PPA uses another etc...
  5. Michelle I am glad you had a good experience with the Club 100 lady You are correct in saying that not everyone that joins a club wants to be a racer. That is why clubs cater for different abilities and needs. It is very daunting to pitch up to a ride and not know anyone, etc..... I belive there are no bad clubs, just crappy people with nad attitudes that make the club looks bad. Every club has them, but fortunately the friendly, welcoming type usually outnumber the @ssholes enjoy your riding - even if its for the "wrong" club
  6. That's why you should stay out of Pta. Its not the club, its the city - eende van 'n ander dam daai het my oupa gese. Bad experience for a novice...., hope someone from the club reads this and contacts the rider to apologise. Fotunately the club has many branches and I can guarantee you something like this will not happen @ the branch I ride for - but I still hope its not the same club
  7. At Argus this year they had marshalls write down the numbers of riders throwing their empties into boxes at the finish. I thinbk they had some spot prizes/a prize draw from those names. More should maybe do it.
  8. I had just commented on this in the bad day in the cradle thread. Not sure if its the same guy who rode in the A bunch? I was asked to post the following apology on helaf of the culprit. Rider VA234 feels very bad about this incident. I found out its a friend of mine, and after a few klappe, gave him a stern talk about manners etc. He shows remorse and has given me the undertaking that he will stop this bad habit, even go further and stop throwing his chicken bones and Mc Donalds containers out the car window on the highways and byways. As part of his rehab programme, he will sweep the routes afterwards for empty discarded gel wrappers, of the next 5 races he partcipates in.
  9. I had just commented on this in the bad day in the cradle thread. Not sure if its the same guy who rode in the A bunch? I was very upset on saterday. there was a dimension data old fart with no number on in the A bunch. he disposed of his sachets in the field. i asked him why he does that? he then asked me: "who do you think you are?" i told him it does matter who i am he should not do that... He then sed that i should meet him him at the end. I was all for that... i was ready to give him a klap or 2 then take him to a CSA offical. .... he wasn't there.... loser... Good one Skaap - I was right next to you (passing by) as this conversation took place... I would gldly have helped you sort this oke out!!

  14. Thank you' date=' good to know that there are some other options out there, and now I know there are more than one. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> [/quote'] maybe post the mileage you have done with the cassette and chain it might also make it clearer lotsa other factors, I know, but as an indicator. From what you told me, I dont believe the cassette needs replacing
  15. Shimano got them cheap on the hub only ridden the bike 4 x hit plenty rocks - thus far they seem to be just fine.... also use shimano on road bike
  16. I definitely find it much easier to take off at the pace the race usually starts after a 15-20 km warmup. Some races no time to do that.., and Its hard to get going Experienced the same in SBR on sat, didn't go for a warm up ride and took 30 mins for the first 10 km's. after that it was fine in something like Argus/94.7 its really pointless as you need to be in the penns sooooo long before the time. any suggestions to deal with that?
  17. that is it yes lotsa corru's yes!!!
  18. BB its starts on the Randwater Road, next to the cemetary/golf course, you ride out south towards the R 59 and turn right onto the gravel road, towards Alewynspoort rd, and then right onto that. Coming back, in stead of turning right to go up the steps - from SBR side - you continue straight over the R 59, right and right onto the gravel again, left to the finish.
  19. Results are available, although not completely done yet.
  20. Pantani - where can we see pics you took at the start of the A bunch race yesterday? Not up on the website yet. Looking for one you took just before or after taking the one where Jay was oinning the number to the Lab rider, doing the race in his place?!
