    yes, we're in the lull between a lot of the good shows. come Feb and March (e.g. House of Cards) it will pick up again. At the moment, just feels like I'm watching for the sake of watching TV, so have decided to stick my nose in a good novel or 3 until then

    That glossy candy/apple red also looks fantastic! Yeah, the EX models have got the slightly longer travel option, but also GX drive train and Guide brakes, instead of the Shimano kit. Canyon have just opened a Aus & NZ office for customer support (its like they knew I was moving back!). Not sure if they have plans to do so in SA as well.

    yep, just incredible how a series can be 4-5 matches over 20+ days and it can all change with a superb spell of bowling. Like you said, Broad is developing a pattern of this, and England are climbing back up the rungs to the top of test cricket partly due to his contributions

    Nice, the Carbon version looks amazing, but is very expensive. The Alu version is a pretty nice deal. Norco, Pivot, YT all seem to be good choices for this price range.

    I can't remember if I posted this before, but Air New Zealand are pretty great to fly with. Since I'll be just over the Tasman, considering some long weekends with the bike later this year!

    A brand new one (new 2015 model) goes for around 11-12K now (499 GBP) I think. Best to try and find a 2nd hand "original" solaris for around 5K (occasionally on the hub).

    I had a quick go for reference if this helps at all: About 22 mm in height. The 29er logo is about 35x 22 mm Not really my usual scientific accuracy, could only find an old plastic ruler...

    Was at Newlands yesterday. Great day to watch cricket - even though it was "slow" going, much excitement seeing Amla getting his double, and then young Bavuma playing some splendid shots to bring up his maiden century. I had to consume much beer to stay cool, so I found the crowd antics hilarious - group of around 20-30 young SA guys taunting the Barmy Army all day was fantastic. "Where are your lions?" "You're so pink its unbelievable" etc. etc.

    Making a murderer. Insanely good TV - its got a lot of hype and implications right now (just do a google news search for it). I've got 2 episodes to go. I've been so angry, depressed and shocked by this documentary series. I can't help but be skeptical though, since its a documentary that is really trying to argue the position of the defence - but overall this is a strong condemnation of law enforcement and the judicial system in small town USA.
