  1. Cool series on Discovery called on the roam with Jason momoa. lekker , just Lekker.
  2. A Man’s A Man For A’ That Robert Burns 1759 – 1796 Is there for honest Poverty That hings his head, an’ a’ that; The coward slave—we pass him by, We dare be poor for a’ that! For a’ that, an’ a’ that. Our toils obscure an’ a’ that, The rank is but the guinea’s stamp, The Man’s the gowd for a’ that. What though on hamely fare we dine, Wear hoddin grey, an’ a that; Gie fools their silks, and knaves their wine; A Man’s a Man for a’ that: For a’ that, and a’ that, Their tinsel show, an’ a’ that; The honest man, tho’ e’er sae poor, Is king o’ men for a’ that. Ye see yon birkie, ca’d a lord, Wha struts, an’ stares, an’ a’ that; Tho’ hundreds worship at his word, He’s but a coof for a’ that: For a’ that, an’ a’ that, His ribband, star, an’ a’ that; The man o’ independent mind He looks an’ laughs at a’ that. A prince can mak a belted knight, A marquis, duke, an’ a’ that; But an honest man’s abon his might, Gude faith, he maunna fa’ that! For a’ that, an’ a’ that, Their dignities an’ a’ that; The pith o’ sense, an’ pride o’ worth, Are higher rank than a’ that. Then let us pray that come it may, (As come it will for a’ that,) That Sense and Worth, o’er a’ the earth, Shall bear the gree, an’ a’ that. For a’ that, an’ a’ that, It’s coming yet for a’ that, That Man to Man, the world o’er, Shall brothers be for a’ that.
  3. It’s quite “easy” to write off a bike these days. The parts are horrendously expensive and even if scratched the owner can insist on rep, ace, ent parts which drives the price of repairs. Insurance companies have a threshold. Iirc it’s around und 60percent of the value of the bike. If one sources second hand parts or use one’s own elbow grease very often one can viably repair a written off bike. that said, its value will always be lower than a similar bike that’s not written off. Here it’s about 30 percent lower. And check it out thoroughly to make sure it’s all straight. my mate only buys previously written off vehicles. His car was written off due to the bumper needing to be replaced and a few odds and sods. That was at 25000 miles. It’s now on 160 000 miles with nary an issue with it. He ha s an R1 and a vfr800 both having been previously written off. Not problems at all. but caveat emptor.
  4. Wee lunch time ride on the mountain bike. This at Godalming rugby club. going to be a long wait for the sun.
  5. SeconD hand Buyers market at the minute in the BMW GS range given the new models.
  6. See attached article regarding BMW sales. GS 1300 has already sold 4500 units here. That means 4500 trade in GS12/1250 and/or private sales. does wonders for the buyers. and yeah, not all new bikes will be current GS owners but I reckon a high percentage will be
  7. Watched the game last night. Had to feel for Middlesbrough. But is what it is. Such high hopes dashed. hope to get tickets for the final through a Chelsea member, unlikely but gotta try. And , I won a bit so life’s good.
  8. Those panniers/top box are hellishly expensive so factor that into it too. And it’s a GSA. I don’t have any knowledge of ZA bike prices but 71000 kms is not a train smash. These things run hundreds of thousands kms. edit. Just ran a quick search here. 110grand in ZA is cheaper than what they sell for here all things being equal. The value placed on the GS range is incredible.
  9. Yes. No one is going to buy an older model unless it’s deeply discounted. The new one marginally more expensive. Same with the 850 gs range.
  10. I grew up in kempton park and my eldest was born and the now defunct kempton park hospital. I went and googled the Olympia and remember that shop well. Not sure it was the Olympia back in the day but it used to have amazing Russians and the best damn slap tjips on the planet.
  11. Where is the Olympic cafe in kempton park?
  12. Google the history of this , it’s hilarious.
  13. Dealers offering the 850gs and 850gs adv at good prices here now. Same with 1250 gs range.
  14. AFCON eating my profits. Ivory Coast, what’s happening man. 😢
  15. One day , post lotto win https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/290248377385356/
  16. On the wagering front, been going through a good spell. I now wait for more favourable odds before wagering. I.e if the favoured team go behind early the odds lengthen and I place a bet then. Seems to work quite well. I also tend to cash in now a little earlier and rather make smaller profits but less risk. Pretty much like life really. mr hill is now having strategy sessions to counter me. but on another note. The gambling industry in this country is massive. Not sure how they all make profits but they do. And big ones. Crazy industry. Also, where and how do they get all their second by second updates. How does that all work, anyone know ?
  17. Sheffield vs wet spam. 6 minutes added on. Those 6 minutes stretched to 14. 2 red cards and Sheffield are awarded a penalty in the 98th minute. The penalty is taken in the 102nd minute. Game goes on to 104 minutes. just mad.
  18. So I see Toney is back. A talented footballer for sure. Also a man with a chequered past considering he was done for betting. A no no for footballers ( and sports folks generally). my post more to do with the fact he is captain today. Something I reckon is not right. It’s sending a poor image to footballers and wannabe footballers. or mebbe I am a cantankerous old fart.
  19. Might Saxon launch a new album next week. Our perception of age and being older is changing. Biff is 73 as an example, Rolling Stones had a number one last year. Metallica are all close to 60. Seen Saxon a few times proper old skool metal no gimmicks no bull****
  20. Time to get VAR in championship. Swansea goal was offsides. But marginally so. Can’t blame the linesman but he was offsides.
  21. valid point, its yo money , how you spend it is up to you. Simple.
