  1. A2 - they do have a fairly specific BCD but there are quite a few manufactures that make chainrings to fit these shimano cranks. Have a look on chain reaction cycles website
  2. Must say, been reading some forums on the net about shapeshifter reliability issues and it seems like a real problem for the early bikes. Maybe this dream bike can turn into a real nightmare. Anyway, back to all thing Pyga.
  3. Would love a stage but haven't seen any of those go for anything remotely affordable. Huge Pyga fan but Canyon does have that certain "exotic allure"
  4. Probably long gone by now https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum/?app=hubmarket&module=core&do=view_item&item_id=225837
  5. Thanks for the feedback. Seems there are some seriously overpriced 110's in the classifieds when applying your formula...might explain why they haven't sold As for the "hype", I'm not convinced it's bigger than a handful of bikes and maybe 10 members on BikeHub so not too worried about that. Certainly didn't put me off when I bought it back then. Don't get me wrong, I take note of it but am satisfied with the response from Pyga in most of the few cases I'm aware of. MTB frames crack, it's part of the game in my opinion. Just don't ride a 50k bike without proper insurance
  6. Hi guys, what can my 110 realistically expect to fetch? It's defintely a more trail specific build and not XC. > Excellent condition frame > Pike 140 RCT3 Solo Air > Easton Arc30 Rims on Hope hubs > Santa Cruz 740mm carbon bars > 55mm FUNN stem > SLX brakes > SLX shifter > XT clutch derailleur > XT cassette (11-36) & 42t expander cog > Lyne Pulse crankset > Fox DOSS dropper post Would really appreciate the feedback as I'm trying to determine if new bike dream is feasable or not.
  7. Yes but let's be honest. When you spend that much on a frame you have to justify it to yourself and everyone around you so of course he raved about it...I would too at that price (Not that I doubt for a moment that it is indeed an upgrade of note)
  8. Definitely not. More likely to be labeled a Paarl noob/intruder :-)
  9. You were
  10. Bragging about this swanky crank wherever I can. Great quality products at a steal and super service from the guys at Lyne Components.
  11. From some poor bloke who accidentally bought a 650b frame
  12. Stoked with my new Lyne Pulse crank. Looks the biz.
  13. Do you ride Paarl often?
  14. I both hate (FOMO I suspect) and love that feeling when you discover something that's been under your nose all the time.
  15. Holy moly! 97% of pygas will clearly never experience anything close to their limits like this. Mine sure won't...poor thing.
  16. Welvanpas Wellington Black Route Can't be too many more scenic trails in this country than this.
  17. Ag, tell me about it. Some obstacles just screw with your mind. There's a rock drop on the DH line from the monument which I CANNOT send. Not that high but on a downward slope with a blind landing making it look higher than it is. I hate that thing. Btw, I tried that pallet jump this morning. Also on the hairy side for my skillset at the moment. Fun though.
  18. Yeah don't stress it man, you're much more likely to be blown away than dissapointed once you ride it. Loads of 110's used in the Epic which wouldn't be the case if they rode heavy.
  19. Nice light build. Were you hoping it would weigh less? That's a decent wight for a 110. Frame is focussed on stiffness rather than feathery weight.
  20. Finally some wheels to do that Pike justice
  21. How cool is this!? https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/216472-pyga-160mm-enduro-prototype-650b/
  22. No ways that a large is still too small for your height...unless your arms are out of proportion long ;-) Reach is already fairly long compared to other brands. I'm same length and on a medium. Would prefer large to be honest but anything bigger than that for our length is ridiculous. Also depends on what you're setting the bike up for...xc, trail, enduro? Perhaps also consider wider bars if you're not already using them. Will lean you forward a bit...and improve control. Btw, Reach = distance between BB and bars....not saddle. I'd question the competence of a fitment guy suggesting an XL for your height....if that's indeed what he did.
  23. I used an off-cut strip of frame protection and wrapped that around the spacer before installing the zip tie....hasn't even worn through the protection layer after more than a years' riding.
  24. See if you can't find a Revelation or Yari. I'd consider that an upgrade but a bit more affordable than the Pike. And more travel!!
