Heard somewhere that its a alternate landing strip for the space shuttle if they miss their entry point. well it looks pretty pimped to me - Besides those that laughed probably have cracked frames already with their expensive kit whereas this steed will stioll last you many many happy miles I like it - & its not just to make you feel better PS: I wouldnt mind your white Gobi saddle there. hmmmmm strange dont know if you tried this maybe but try putting a light coat of grease on the inner tube where the seatpost slides in. id be worried too - Id poo in my pants if the frame decides to give in & the tumble will be inevitable

creaking could perhaps be coming from your saddle itself where the rails go into the plastic moulding. mine creaked there & just a teency bit Q20 where the rails go into the moulding & the creaking should vanish. Otherwise for a more long term waterproof effect but more work use a sewing pin & jam as best you can a bit of vaseline inbetween the gap of the rail & moulding. It wont be easy as that gap isnt very big but a pin should do the job

hmmmmm, that is nasty - goodbye frame & so long Have to almost agree there with DB. Either the cup was too big in diameter & forced in or the cup was really hammered in with more than neccessary force creating the alu to weaken at its already weakest spot just my thoughts
