  2. what awesome pics - thanks DD
  3. MTB or Road ?
  4. okay problem sorted without having to buy new pads Read an interesting thing in a local mag recently & decided to give it a try. Its probably old news but......I didnt know it until i read about it take water sandpaper & put it on a smooth surface & run the disc pad over them to sand the glazing that has occured over time off. Gently does it though cause you could dramatically reduce the lifespan on the brake pad cause it sands away like no ones business I then tried it out & man oh man, it feels like ive just walked out the LBS with a new set of wheels So if youve experienced the same as me try it & even if your brakes dont feel the same as when they were new do this...... It will make a mojor impact on your stopping power & once again make it smooth & feel brand new BNG Out
  5. i also found that a normal green dishwashing sponge worked wonders, the rough side that is & doesnt scratch the hell out of the metal but does the intended purpose
  6. I cant belive not more people are jumping at this oppertunity. Its a bloody messy job but fun nontheless. If you dont know how, then get it done for free or just about. You pay between R400 & R450 for that you know where as you could just be paying for new seals/washers major bargain in my opinion
  7. ive been a seller ( sold shifter/brake combo ), struggled to get the money for that but did eventually as there was a valid explanation which i wasnt aware of until no99, i actually turned the parcel around & had to repost it. My fault for sending before payment but mostly ive been a buyer & have had nothing but good service from all the ppl ive bought from. Things looked as advertised & things were done as discussed with me so really i cant complain ive got a lot of stuffies thanks to hub sales - as they say - One mans junk is another mans treasure although you still pay lots for that treasure but its a damsight cheaper than the LBS
  8. Johan has been around the block a couple of times you know takes hat & runs
  9. no it works like a bolt & nut structure & doesnt screw into the frame but rather into each other through the frame I think/hope i will be able to get one but it just looks like such a neish bolt that i dont want to buy a new hangar just to get the said bolt
  10. So i get home nice & ealry yesterday & quickly get to into cleaning my bike which got negelcted over the past week for a good scrubbing take the backwheel off to get into those nooks & crannies but before tha could happen my entire derailer falls like a rock. On closer inspection i see the hangar is still attached to the derailer but not the frame. Lucky for me ive got the old goose frame still hanging in the garage & poach the old hangar bolt off there. Think i could have seen my aaalie quite bad should the said hangar lose grip on the frame as the skewer bolts onto the hangar Anyway what i wanna know is, is this fairly common or just an anomolly Oh & one more thing, will i be able to buy another hangar bolt from the LBS do you think ?
  11. hell freakin yea I also want a rooi roomys fiets, pity my bank manger doesnt think the same way i do otherwise we'd be awesome friends
  12. too true about the accidental occurances that happen, but that was the answer i was looking for. Im speaking metaphorically & in an ideal world. 18 months is more than good enough for me I just wasnt sure on the compound of tyre, soft or hard. Good wearing or not.
  13. perhaps a goose. They are IMO very good bang for your buck esp when it entry level
  14. sho she is pretty, many happy miles
  15. hmmmm if thats bent you gonna have to replace the hangar, sorry im not concentrating, been up since 2 this morning. I dont even know where youd even begin to look for a new goose hangar. Perhaps try the disties they might be able to help
