  1. Go check on online coffee shop they are all there under accesories. Pallo make a nice group brush. Or just get toothbrush or similar sure that will work for the time being. Brew Tool is nice, comes in a pouch too. Doesn't fit the basket perfectly on the Oscar but I guess for that money QC on the size is not so good. So you miss the sides as it is smaller than the basket. But I just scoop out the sides with the tamper to sort it out or you can tamp around the edges. Tamper, Tamper mat (I like the once with an edge that fits the side of the counter so it stays put in front of the machine) Knock box ( I like the Grindenstein on Yuppiechef), Detergent and blind filter (via online coffee shop), grouphead brush (pallo). some microfiber cloths(Makro bulk pack), jugs (makro has steelking, get the small one it's perfect for one or 2 capps), cups (Cafe culture from Maxwell williams), small counter brush (crazy stores has a scoop and brush combo), gram scale (Salter at Boardmens). Remember a timer. also those white and blue mesh cloths work well for the milk wand. Grinder brush and cleaner. Milk thermometer. Lots of milk and beans. Shot glasses with measurment lines so you can check your pulls (online coffee shop)
  2. IMO unless you are looking at buying the top shelf carbon frame one of the top brands like Scott, Cannondale or Spez you are wasting money, rather get better performing parts and a quality alu frame. for example my carbon medium 26" Zaskar frame weighs 1500g, same as a large 29" alu cannondale flash frame from 2012.
  3. Cadence - China special from New World. Rather get one that can take AA/AAA batteries, the watch ones are stupid to replace, the coffee sites stock such a white timer. or use an app on your phone. Oscar comes with a plastic tamper, OK but not ideal. I bought a basic Brew Tool for R400 from onlinecoffeshop. Stainless/Alu combo. It's nice and hefty over 500g, they have cheaper Alu ones but not worth the money IMO. You need a 58mm base.
  4. Gotten bored of running the Black Route at Kings, but I hear they are extending it to 30-35km?
  5. So What is this Nespresso you speak of?
  6. I agree Aeropress is better here, otherwise french press and in my opinion lastly Moka pots. Do buy a grinder for it, there are hand models that grind consistently for the Aeropress and don't take too long. Check out moreflavour.co.za I've got an entry level machine and grinder for sale if espresso is more your thing though.
  7. 2 GT Zaskars on my name, they say it's the clear coat but on carbon no one got time fo that!
  8. What grinder is that GB?
  9. There was a Trigon with a snapped top tube if I remember correctly
  10. Should be a few rands over 10K for the Oscar, go for it! Grinder wise the Mazzer sounds great, is that the electronic version? They seem a bit expensive for me though, would rather go with the doser model or a Kompak K3
  11. I page through them in the CNA - Trail mag, Ride etc. Personally don't find enough content in there to be of value to me to purchase any of the mags.
  12. Rather donate the fine money to Choc
  13. About 3,5 ex for the Grinta. 12,5 incl now for the Oscar and Grinta special.
  14. http://onlinecoffeeshop.co.za/products/compak/coffee-grinders/compak-k3-touch-chrome-coffee-grinder is a good option Rouxtjie, as well as the mazzer mini and K6
  15. As with anything it depends on your needs, and you need to do research. Like SLX vs XTR. Yes XTR is "better" technically, but not for everyone it isn't. My issue is Breville is still an appliance company and not a coffee equipment company. @Home are the local agents and my experience asking about new models was dismal, so I would be worried about support. That said I still think it's a good grinder if you want to do espresso and other methods as it's easily adjustable. IMO It will suite entry level machines well like Breville, but above a SBDU machine for espresso I would say you need something that grinds more consistently, faster, adds less heat to the beans and adjusts finer. No point having a great machine and crappy grinder, rather do it other way around. I would say minimum is the Krupps GVX 1/2 grinder @ R600 for entry level machines to start with or to grind for french press etc. It can actually go pretty fine or coarse. Still using it with my Oscar but it's not ideal for the machine. Then something like the Rancilio Rocky is popular @3,5k and then something like the Compak K3 touch or Mazzer mini @7k for the serious home user. Personally I wouldn't go bigger than that, but V12 does like his 20k+ Mazzer Robur commercial grinders
  16. To use with which machine? Budget? Espresso only or do you want to grind for other methods? How much counter space have you got? Height wise too.
  17. I just use mine as a guide with RPE, good for training. Can't think of a racing scenario I have used it other than looking at the files afterwards. Trail running races I do use it though, can't just hammer it for 5 hours!
  18. Left one aint bad, right on has been standing a bit, SBDU's hey Make some on the GS3 and post pics
  19. Serfas has a value for money one, been really chuffed with it so far
  20. Oh ok, grinder looks like a Mazzer copy
  21. Please don't buy a machine with the grinder built in
  22. 10k locally from the distributor Alessandro at Tazadoro/Morico Imports. Great guy!
  23. Nuova Simonelli Oscar like I got. Then another 4-7k for a grinder...
  24. Very nice, Jedi Christmas Tree? Just yanking your chain.
